I have been asking recently for more of a fear of god, so that i can be more obeidient, as i feel i can be 90% or more obeidient but thats not what god wants he wants full 100% and i have to die to my flesh.
Partial obiedience is actually disobiedience or rebellion.
Having a pure heart before god is our ultimate aim as christians
What purifies our hearts? Our love for God ?
I believe our love for god awakens the desire to purify, but that alone does not purify our hearts. We can say we love God with great affection, yet we may still love the world. Millions are like this in the church if we are honest we too are like that.
So what force keeps us pure before our God?
I believe that 2nd Corinthians 7:1 is our answer.
Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the Fear of God.
True purity of the heart is perfected by the Fear of god !
By the Fear of the Lord one departs from evil (Proverbs 16:6)
I just feel that we as Christians know that God is Love, and more faithfull than a mother but we fail sometimes to have proper reverence and a proper fear of the lord.
and with that fear and reverence that is balanced with our love for our saviour then we can truly pick up our cross daily and follow him.
I pray that all who read this message will have that balance of love and fear (reverence) for our lord so that we can die to self and give more to the kingdom of God.
In Jesus Mighty Name
Amen
