Could you all please pray for my son. He is 15 and just going through this rebellious phase, fighting against my husband and I, there is definitely a spiritual battle going on in our home. The enemy is using friends, school, just anything to pull our son away from the Lord. It really is hard. I wish we could keep him locked up at home and never venture outside. He doesn't know enough of God's Word, and this is what concerns me. My husband is not quite the spiritual leader in the home that I would like him to be, so he doesn't pray or share bible reading with our son, so it is often me who does this. The only other time is church on Sunday and maybe youth group on Wednesday nights. I pray for my son all the time, for the Lord to put that desire on his heart to seek Him more closely, to want to read the bible, to honor God by honoring his parents. My son asked the Lord to save him a couple of years back, and I saw some change in him, but not much growth, so I sometimes wonder if he is really saved or not. I am concerned. Is this just a phase? anyhow prayer needed and appreciated. Thanks everyone.

Dear Lord, I sincerely pray for calluna's son, that you would intervene in his life. Lord, it's hard to know what is going on in a 15 year old's mind, but Father, may the young man come to You humbly and ask for your forgiveness and guidance. We pray this in Jesus' name, knowing and believing that You love calluna's son with an everlasting love!

Amen.

Dear Calluna,

I am so sorry that your son is in a rebellious state. I think all teenagers go through that stage, but nevertheless, it is not okay.

You said that your son asked the Lord into his life a few years back, correct? But was there any foundational growth after that? What was done to build his relationship with God? Those things are very important.

Often times we may think that after we introduce someone to God our work is done...but there is so much more. We have to show them how to pray, and walk with them until they have a strong foundation.

My structure has crumbled many times, but my foundation has always been strong.

You said your husband wasn't as strong as you'd like him to be in the Word, and it is usually you that tells your son. It is really important that you do not break your partnership with your husband. Don't separate from your husband. Make sure that your son knows that you and your husband are one, that way he won't look down or loose respect for your husband.

Since you and your husband are having a hard time with communicating with your son, maybe he can have a mentor. Someone older than he can hang out with, guide him, and help him during this stage. Maybe someone at church could help him.

Also make sure to let your son know, both you and your husband, love him very much. That there is nothing that he can ever do to make your love for him lessen. He is definitely under attack, continue to walk by his side. Let him know that you both are there for him. But try not to smother him at the same time.

Most important, pray and seek the Lord. Only He can make this better and give you the answers.

Dear Lord, I ask that you would help calluna and her husband Lord. Give them wisdom in this situation Lord. Lord, I lift up to you their son Father. Touch his heart and help him with whatever he may be going through. I ask this in your name Lord Jesus. Amen.

May God be with you and your husband sister!

Many Blessings,

When I was twelve or thirteen years old, in the midst of anguish over a trial in my life, I sincerely gave my life to the Lord. But, being a teenager with the pendulum mood swings thereof, I "swung out" into the world until I was fourty-six, with that spiritual thirst growing in me no matter how much I tried to ignore it.At the age of fourty-six, God set the hook in my mouth and started reeling me in.

If your son's decision to ask Jesus to take over his life "a couple of years back" was a truly sincere one, its a done deal, just as mine was.

"And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession-to the praise of his glory." (Eph 1:13-14)

"But the father said to his servants, 'Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him, put a (signet) ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fatted calf and kill it. Let's have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' So they began to celebrate." (Lk 15:22-24)

Father I pray for Calluna's son that you would shower him with Your love the unconditional love. Remind him of his first love when he first asked you into his life. I know the peer pressure at that age is hard but life with you is so much better. Help him Lord as he goes through the rebellious teens. I know that teens do indeed go through these rebellious time as their bodies change. Please keep the parents in your perfect peace too in Jesus' name amen.
