The apostle Paul writes the biblical prescription for forgiving a fallen brother,

Brethren, even if a man is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another's burdens, and thus fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But let each one examine his own work and then he will have reason for boasting in regard to himself alone, and not in regard to another. For each one shall bear his own load. (Galatians 6:1-5)

I believe that the people here on this site, have all practiced this and have shown the true love of Christ.....So, I say to you all who are weary and with heavy burden, this is a place where you can come and your brethen will support you.

Thank you all for letting the Love of Christ shine!!!

Great information... I have a confession about forgiveness. When I was baby Christian I felt that in order for me to forgive another person they had to ask me for their forgiveness. Man, who did I think I was? As I grew in the Lord & my hearrt grew softer, I realized that in order to have the compassion like Christ had I needed to learn to love others. With compassion comes love, Amen? I wrote this to help others who may be at this level in their walk. If you are one who is struggling with this, I would encourage you to get into the Word about this topic, and pray for the Lord to soften your heart as well. He is true to His word!!!

I just got done posting on this topic. Forgiveness. Truly, God is working in my life right as I type this. I have a confession, and I am not ashamed to tell this, I have a person I need to forgive in my heart. I need to forgive him so God may forgive me. It is something I long for. I want to forgive, but I cant bring myself to do it. It is hard, but thank you for what you said though. I needed that.

God Bless

I to know the importance of forgiveness, having fogiven a family member that i disliked for over 40 years for something hurtful done to me. I now can look back at that time and wonder how could i have been so silly. Mind you without the love of Jesus and his forgiveness of my sins, I know that forgiveness would never have happened.Praise you Jesus without you we are nothing, with you we are truely blessed.

Thank you.
I am having a real problem with forgiveness at the moment. I am seeing a counsellor and she told me that I can only forgive those that ask me for forgiveness.
I knew that felt wrong.
I know that Christ forgave his persecutors and enemies...they certainly did not ask for forgiveness. As I strive to be more Christ-Like, I must strive to forgive as He did.
Thank you again.
Your sister in Christ
