Good evening friends,

I'm posting this twofold, at last minute, so if I receive no replies, I understand your prayers will be with us at least.

My lady and myself work for the same company. We have different roles at work however.

Tomorrow we have a party/function at work to celebrate our hard work (haha, by creating more hard work for us it seems).

The theme of the party is Friday the 13th, which is essentially a Halloween type of costume party.

We are completely against this however, especially myself, as I am a Christian and child of God. My spirit is not well with this event or my workplace at present.

I know there is no way I can not attend the work function as it is in work hours and we are allowed to leave as soon as our normal day finishes.

The main concern I have however is that we are finding it difficult to stomach the ordeal. Just the image they used at work to advertise the event completely grosses us out and we can't stomach celebrating death and mayhem.

I thought about being a Bee and my lady a Butterfly (float like a butterfly and sting like a bee), but I am not sure if it will fit in with the rest. I am essentially saying to the crowd that they should not mess with us, or possibly fall like an opponent by God's hand, but I'd rather not get aggravated anymore as I'm already on the brink of losing it at work.

I would appreciate any alternative costume ideas, but your prayers will be more appreciated.

Thank you,
God bless

First of all, no matter how long the thing drags on, "This too shall pass." If you go there with the belief that it will seemingly last forever, it will seemingly last forever.

Secondly, if you're not comfortable going in costume, don't go in costume.

Thirdly, keep in mind that God may have a Divine Appointment or two lined up for you at that party, opportunities to do or say a little something that will draw some people toward Him.

Thank you for the replies.

Thank you brother SLE.

The day passed as you said. I was extremely sick (as I've been for over two weeks going) so it didn't help much. We had great food however and I had a lovely dance with my lady. All turned out well. We had a bit of makeup on our faces with the word Boo! written on it. There was no divine calling as far as I saw today, but God knows for sure.

We left a short while after our working hours ended officially and went home to relax, enjoying a quiet evening.

Thank you for all your prayers again,
God bless,
Faithful Son.
