Funny Prayer Answered

Today I had a prayer answered in a funny way. Maybe I should think about what I pray for next time.

Being 27, I still love playing video games. I only play from about 8:pm - 9:30/10:00pm, but this is almost daily. My kids are in bed and the wife is doing her thing during this time, so I get on and play.

A gaming addiction is what I thought I've been going through. I've been feeling that I could be doing more useful things then playing games 9 hrs or more a week. Therefore, last night I prayed for God to help curb my addiction to video games. Little did I know what was gonna happen.

With my wife's college class taking a break today, she finally had a day she could just relax and watch tv to catch up on her shows. Well.........when we got up this morning, the lamp on our tv had burned out. If you have a DLP tv, you know the pain it is to get a new lamp, its extremely difficult, if not impossible, to get one locally. And since I play on the PS3, my PS3 system is now useless until we get a new lamp for the tv (which should arrive tomorrow with 1-day shipping) since it can't hook up to my other tv's via HDMI or A/V cable(s).

To make matters worse, my wife couldn't catch up on her shows because they were recorded on a HD-DVR and the other tv's we have, made in the 80s or 90s, don't have the A/V inputs for the HD-DVR. Now, her school starts up again tomorrow and she didn't get a chance to do her catch up.

I want to thank the LORD for giving me this time to reflect on the addiction I "had" but now know that I should think about what I would like to pray for ;) Although I know that I couldn't curb this addiction without the LORDs help, this was just not a great day for this to happen, but we still know God's works are for a reason.

Praise God that I will no longer be addicted to my video games............I can't afford these lamps!
