A lady from church loaned me a copy of Bevington's Remarkable Incidents and Modern Miracles through Prayer and Faith, written in the 1920s.
Bevington was a Methodist Episcopal holiness preacher that believed in healing. He traveled mostly around Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee, preaching the Gospel, getting people saved, sanctified, and healed.
If you read this book, you may not agree with or understand his teachings, but what you'll probably come away with is that you don't know the first thing about prayer, even if you spend a couple hours a day in prayer.
Bevington would hide himself away for days until he prayed through for a person's salvation, sanctification, or healing, or even just to get the key to the schoolhouse in order to have the meetings God told him to conduct. Once he prayed through for whatever he was after, more blessings usually followed. Otherwise, if he was praying the healing of a wife, once she got healed, husband would get saved, as well as the children, plus others in the neighborhood.
The cool thing about this book is just the fact that by reading it, we learn that we should pray, and not give up praying until the answer comes (see Luke 11 and 18).
He also tells stories of God's provision: of money, train tickets, and other preachers to take his place.
It's a great encouragement of faith to those who may be going through some hard time.
You can find it for free online.
God bless.
