Hi does anyone have any advice on how to get rid of a tortuous tendency towards harbouring ongoing obsessions and fixations.
Have had this problem for eons of years.
It impairs my normal functioning and effectiveness most times especially at work and with my seriously challenged people skills.
Often theres' paranoia too.
Perhaps only God can get rid of this one? lol.
Any suggestions will be greatfully received.

Some years back i discovered i had an increasing obsession with cleaning. i found myself cleaning my home 3 and 4 times a day, and always i felt it was still unclean. My doctor said i have OCD.

I have been trying to allow a little mess around the house but i find it an ongoing battle.
Pray has allowed me to relax and take a few steps back, but it is very tough ,once it becomes rooted in your mind it becomes an every day battle to control it, but have faith because it can be done.

Joyce Myer has a book called Battlefield of the Mind, it is a wonderful tool for fighting this, you can get it on cbd, with a work book also.
She brings you through step by step and it really works.

God Bless sister :girl_hug:i will pray for you xoxoxoxoxoxoxox

Thank you, I can tell you prayed for me.
Today I actually felt some kind of supernatural release is taking place!
It's amazing. Hallelujah!
I am being set free from obsessions and fixations, in Jesus' name, which are being replaced with his pure love and grace.
And that powerful book I shall re-source and study again, along with His word.
May He continue this work in me and in the battlefield of my mind.
Blessings to you. X

This is an awesome book! She has quite a few interesting books that are helpful. I have a few insecurities that I keep at bay with prayer and faith in God. Remembering that we are loved and accepted by God as we are, the way he made us, is hard every now and then but I get through the rough moments through intensive prayer.

God will keep them in perfect peace whose mind is stayed upon Him. Ever tried harassing God!! give it a go! go to Him often as you can, in thought, prayer, song, shouting, SHOUT out the scriptures that fit your situation with aggression, demand, them, declare them, proclaim them, call on Him where ever you are, work, home, loo??? but don't let up.. something is definately bound to happen in Jesus name - amen

This post is fantastic. I "had" suffered with very bad OCD in my life up until a few months ago - when I was "born again"

I was having some very bad, intrusive, thoughts that were causing me great distress.

I have found that "living in the present" and walking through my life with Jesus Christ has helped unbelievably.

He heals - when you truly believe.

Christ Jesus gave us very powerful messages in the Gospels. Especially on how to be "spiritually" awake (Salvation) (enlightenment) - whatever you want to call it. But when I finally discovered that the terrible thoughts were not "Me" it turned things around.

Thanks I'm glad to hear what everyones' saying! Been battling with both unwanted intrusive thoughts (which seem to be planted by 'you know who'!) for some years, as well as mind-control techniques used on me by others most recently. Its a battlefield of the mind so I'm going to remember and practice trying to focus on God in the midst. Yet God is the deliverer and the healer. We believe!

If you dont mind me saying so, I loved this so much I`m grinning

I say there are times to "go" to pray ~ but to pray without ceasing is bathe ourselves in His light continually...

1Jn 1:7 But if we live in the light---just as he is in the light---then we have fellowship with one another --- and the blood of Jesus purifies us from every sin.

I was the same way. My Wife was the opposite. Not a slob, but content with a cleaning job being "ok"...Bothered the heck out of me!

Bothered Her too.

I just learned that the world won't come to a crashing halt if that spoon rest isn't on the stove.

Not easy to fix, believe me!
