The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls. 1 Peter 1:9
If there is one thing on Thanksgiving that should rise to the top of your "gratitude list," it should be access to God's great plan of eternal salvation.
Be grateful for family and friends. Show appreciation for the kindness of others. Say thanks for the gift of life. But in the middle of your celebration today take the time to thank God for making it possible for you to be part of His family. Thank Him for eternal life waiting for those who trust Him. Spend time praising God for Jesus, who made it possible to be forgiven for sin.
More than turkey and stuffing, shopping and football, board games and naps, this is a day when gratitude for God's best gift is perfect.
You may be shopping tomorrow. This weekend you might be reintroduced to Christmas music, next month will be busy with a long to-do list. Today, as a preamble to a more celebrated occasion, remember the gift of trust you offer God, knowing that without Jesus you would never experience or understand gratitude.
Prayer: Dear God, I'm overwhelmed by the lengths You went to offer forgiveness to a person like me who misses the mark. Keep me remembering Your love always invites me to prayer and instruction. I'm grateful for rescue and that You never leave and never abandon.
