Derek begins teaching us about the “Power Gifts” as he discusses The Gift of Faith & The Gifts of [HASHTAG]#Healing[/HASHTAG]. Lots of information, you’ll want to take notes. And lots of illustrations both from the Bible and his own life are used in this comprehensive study on the gifts of the spirit.

Matthew 17:14–20

Jesus Heals a Boy with a Demon
14 And when they came to the crowd, a man came up to him and, kneeling before him, 15 said, “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and he suffers terribly. For often he falls into the fire, and often into the water. 16 And I brought him to your disciples, and they could not heal him.” 17 And Jesus answered, “O faithless and twisted generation, how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him here to me.” 18 And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him, and the boy was healed instantly. 19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” 20 He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”

If he were still alive I would have e-mailed him a couple of questions!

He mentioned that in Jesus' time to heal.

• How does one know when it is His time to heal?

I can only assume when he stated "in Jesus' time" it was to let one know that there are times when it is not meant for one to heal another or that healing might or might not occur. Which led to the above question.

He tells of the gift being given to his first wife. The gift of healing on her left palm. Only way to describe it is "Awesome" "Alleluia" but he also mentions that she said it was a different healing then the one she experienced through her own faith.

• In what way was it different besides in the faith part of it?

very helpful for me in clearing up questions I had. What an
awesome gift there is in faith.
