and He saw also a certain poor widow putting in two mites. So He said, "Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all; "for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings for God, but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood that she had." Luke 21:2-4

The Bible has a lot to say about giving. It talks about giving to God’s commission to take the Gospel message to the world, giving to individuals in need, and giving with a joyful heart. God has called you to give generously and even sacrificially.

Sacrificial giving requires a special kind of faith. It requires you to believe in and trust God to meet your own needs and your family’s needs—especially when times are tight. Without that kind of faith, you’ll do what is natural to all men and hang on to what you have so that you can meet your obligations. With that kind of faith, you give of what little you have, knowing that God sees your sacrifice and then meets your needs in ways only He can.

Prayer: Father in heaven, I know You want me to be a generous man. So even when times are tight for me financially, give me the courage to give of what I have, knowing that it blesses others and that it leads to blessings for my family and me.

Hi Christ4Ever, I believe that this is one of the most important posts of our day. There are many scriptures, that convince many of us that we are in the last days. We are told, that in these days, we will be comanded to accept the mark of the beast, without which, we can do no trade ( buy food.) When this happens we'll need to be sure that the Lord will provide our needs, and that will take faith. Unless we've experienced God's blessings in trying times, we will be more inclined, when facing starvation, to lose faith and take the mark. I spoke on a previous post, regarding God's promise in Malachi. Where God accused us of robbing him of tithes and offerings. He challenged us to put him to the test by giving the full tithe, so that there may be food in his storehouse. He promised that if this was done, he would open up the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that we wouldn't have enough space to put it. (this is a paraphrase). When I read this, we started to put aside ten percent of our income into a box and when a need arose in the community, there was money available to help. Over the years whenever I have been in need, those needs have been met occasionally miraculously. We now have no doubt, that whatever calamity befalls us, God will never let us down. Including the mark. bless you and thanks for such an important post.
