[Gen 6:6] he regretted that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was grieved.

God was grieved. Here we see God regretting making humanity?

If He regretted what are the consequences for our Christian Faith?

Where does God fit in to our life if we evoked this response.

God is still grieved when we live sinful lives.
He rejoices when we follow him wholeheartedly and walk in His ways.

Pro 27:11 My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, That I may answer him who reproaches me.

The Father looks at Jesus in us now fortunately and we are being conformed to His likeness.

God fits into our lives as our Teacher, Father, Comforter, Disciplinarian, Redeemer and He is bringing in His sheep.

Hello fallen.

God acts through Love, all God does is motivated by Love.

This light Jesus Christ shone in the darkness or humanity.

Jesus died for you fallen that is just how much God
loves you. What an incredible sacrifice to make so that
you can find life, an eternal life at that.

Jesus cares very much about every single human,
His plan of redemption was and is for all.

How does God fit into our life?

God's great love for us pervades every area of our
lives. Joy and peace you will experience more and more
as you grow into a more intimate relationship with your
creator. Your faith will increase if you follow the simple
Biblical steps and rely on Jesus more and more.

If we grieved God once who is to say it won’t happen again.
Our Eternal Destiny rides on God's approval.

God's Word.

Rom 5:9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.
1Thes 1:10 and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, that is Jesus, who rescues us from the wrath to come.
1Thes 5:9 For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Note - even in Genesis, God did not "wipe out" the entire human race.
(Otherwise you and I wouldn't be corresponding here).

One of the greatest passages of scripture is a prophecy from Isaiah.

Isa 53:2 For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, And like a root out of parched ground; He has no stately form or majesty That we should look upon Him, Nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him.
Isa 53:3 He was despised and forsaken of men, A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; And like one from whom men hide their face He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
Isa 53:4 Surely our griefs He Himself bore, And our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted.
Isa 53:5 But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed.
Isa 53:6 All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all To fall on Him.
Isa 53:7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He did not open His mouth; Like a lamb that is led to slaughter, And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, So He did not open His mouth.
Isa 53:8 By oppression and judgment He was taken away; And as for His generation, who considered That He was cut off out of the land of the living For the transgression of my people, to whom the stroke was due?
Isa 53:9 His grave was assigned with wicked men, Yet He was with a rich man in His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was there any deceit in His mouth.
Isa 53:10 But the LORD was pleased To crush Him, putting Him to grief; If He would render Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, And the good pleasure of the LORD will prosper in His hand.

The word "pleased" above comes from...
ראה
râ'âh
raw-aw'
A primitive root; to see, literally or figuratively (in numerous applications, direct and implied, transitively, intransitively and causatively): - advise self, appear, approve, behold, X certainly, consider, discern, (make to) enjoy, have experience, gaze, take heed, X indeed, X joyfully, lo, look (on, one another, one on another, one upon another, out, up, upon), mark, meet, X be near, perceive, present, provide, regard, (have) respect, (fore-, cause to, let) see (-r, -m, one another), shew (self),

In this context God looked (gazed, beheld) upon Christs sacrifice, then he (regarded, considered) it as an obligation (provided, met. approved of)

Isa 53:11 As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see it and be satisfied; By His knowledge the Righteous One, My Servant, will justify the many, As He will bear their iniquities.

The death of Christ satisfied God's wrath against our sin.

Isa 53:12 Therefore, I will allot Him a portion with the great, And He will divide the booty with the strong; Because He poured out Himself to death, And was numbered with the transgressors; Yet He Himself bore the sin of many, And interceded for the transgressors.

Mat 27:46 About the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "ELI, ELI, LAMA SABACHTHANI?" that is, "MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?"

At that moment, Jesus took on the sin of the world, God turned his back on Jesus, but the price was paid.

This is basically the message of Christianity in a nut-shell. David, Agua and you are all right... we all deserve God's wrath. I am thankful beyond imagining that I don't have to bear it.
Heb 10:31 It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Our Eternal Destiny rides on God's approval.

God has already redeemed creation and decided the time when it/we will be delivered from the bondage of the curse.

He said He wouldn't "destroy all flesh" by flood again but we know He will destroy the wicked and renew the Earth in good time.

2Pe 3:10-12 NKJV But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. (11) Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, (12) looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?

Thank you for reminding me of this passage. I was weeping, groaning, moaning yesterday about My Savior being Welcomed in my home, but limited to some private rooms, and now this!!! Wow, I love what He does to me!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jesus was and IS God's approval.

Colossians 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

Quote from the movie Apollo 13: "work the solution people, not the problem".

I think I understand it some, I would love to wake up tomorrow and there would be no crime, no bad things, no wars, people would work together and help each other, there would be no sickness, and life would be reliable and sure.

I have three children, I love them but could kill them sometimes.

As a matter of fact I have threatened them with death .Lol!

Many things I have done in my life, I view with sadness, how could have been so stupid????

That is how God looks at things, he loves us but hates the sin. It is the sin that he condemns. He does not condemn his creation.

In us, is the same mindset of God. Those of us who accept him also condemn sin. We wish it would just go away.

Lucky for us, one day it will.

Ephesians 2
8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9Not of works, lest any man should boast.

God has poured out his wrath berfore:
  • Adam and Eve's expulsion from the garden.
  • The Flood
  • Sodom and Gomorra
  • and many more
God is currently no longer at war or has enmity toward us because of the finality of the cross and those who are saved. He will of course, come again to pour out his wrath one more time but not on the saved.

God's approval, what more could a person want. Just emulate Jesus and stop sinning. We know that the righteousness of God has been manifested being witnessed by the law and the prophets (Rom 3:21). We know that we can escape the corruption that is in the world through lust (2 Pe 1:4). We know that only those who actually walk in the light are washed by the blood of the lamb (1 Jn 1:7). We know that we must obey Jesus to receive eternal life (Heb 5:9). We know that he opened the door (Jn 3:16). We know that there is absolutely no excuse for sinning (1 Cor 10:13). We know that it is impossible to obtain his approval without faith (Heb 11:6). So if we just believe what God has said and act in accordance with that belief then we shall always have the approval of our Father who is in heaven.

It seems that God's grief is a result of humanity disobeying His commands. As it reads furthers on in Genesis 6 vs. 8, "Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD". God placed the responsibility on Noah, described as a righteous and blameless man, to bring forth the new generation which would establish the covenant that would literally save them from the fate that the rest of the world would face (Gen 6:18), characterizing a somewhat similar mission to that of Christ and His followers. The relationship between God and Noah is a clear representation of the covenant. God remembered Noah (Gen 8:1) and provided his every need; Noah was blessed for following God's commands. The Lord was pleased with Noah's offering of works produced by his faith (Gen 8:21), and so, promised to never again destroy all living creatures as He had done with the sign of a rainbow (Gen 9:13).

I think perhaps this reinforces God's mercy toward a fallible humanity in a world of corruption and sin. Just as Noah was protected in his relationship with God by his faith, so are we. Choosing to obey God's commands will keep man protected "even though every inclination of his heart is evil from childhood" (Gen 8:21). God knows that we are an imperfect people "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

"But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them" (1 John 2:5). From what I understand, God fits into our lives in this because He calls us to be like Him, which means doing away with sin, similar to the way Noah and his family escaped the corruption of the world. Matthew 5:48 reads "Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect", which explains why the life of Jesus Christ- perfect, blameless, and pleasing to God- is that which we are called to follow.
