I am just so touched by the welcoming generosity of the state of Texas for the evacuees of N.O.,but I am saddened and ashamed that no other state(that I have so far heard of) has followed suit! Every single one of us should be praying for God's blessings on Texas,and praying that some other states volunteer to help these people. I have known for years that my heart is in the great state of TX,and it is even more so now. It was just wonderful,how immediately they just said"come here".I heard on Fox news last night how when the buses arrive at the Houston Astrodome a person boards each bus and says "Welcome to Houston" then tells them they will try to make their stay as comfortable as possible. So thoughtful. So let every one of us pray for Texas, and every one of the folks from the devasted coast. In His Love, Chris :girl_hug:

1Ti 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
1Ti 2:2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
1Ti 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
1Ti 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Will be praying for all involved :present:

God bless

Soblessed, I welcome you to Talk Jesus since I see you have only posted twice. I'm not sure what you're saying with this post & the purpose of it. Texas is to be commended indeed for what it has done in extending open arms to those in need. But I would like to gently correct you in regards to other states offering help. Those are somewhat strong words you used & you used them without full knowledge of the situation obviously.

Many, many states have opened their doors & hearts to those in need. Several evacuees have been accepted & welcomed into them - my state included. Our Red Cross chapter is working intently to make sure relief efforts are optimized. Nashville & Memphis have welcomed thousands, not to mention what the smaller cities have done.

I think what upsets me so with this post is that we don't need further discouragement & negativity coming amongst the American people. It would have been so easy to take a few minutes & become informed prior to posting - or simply to reword it to ask gently if anyone knew of anything being done.

We must lift up the postive...satan loves the negative. I don't personally want to entertain him. Neither should any believer.

Sapphire I'm with you on this. There is no time to waste nor room to spare for discouragement and a bit of grudging against the other states. The entire nation is working on this so there is no reason to pick "texas" and pray for that state.

I'd rather pray for New Orleans instead becuase that is the main state in devastation right now.

God bless

Prayer for New Orleans, Louisiana

Dear Lord,

We pray for Louisiana and the city of New Orleans right now. We ask for your mercy in spite of the corruption that exists in the town. We pray that the murderers, looters and rapists be brought to justice and that those who were just honestly trapped because of a badly examined levee wall bursting would get the help they need. May many Christians reach out in love and charity and show Your mercy to these people. We also pray that in rebuilding this city they will re-examine the wicked policies of having people dependent on government.

Lord as I understand it, they have now one of the worst situations in dependence on government housing since Chicago closed theirs down. We know that if man, whom You made with dignity and the capacity apart from illness or injury to work, should be treated with dignity and trained and made to work rather than accept government handouts. We understand that many of these along with released prisoners were the ones doing these unseemly acts at a time when people needed help, love, compassion and a helping hand. They scared away rescue bus drivers, robbed and raped their neighbors instead of loving and helping their neighbors and even shot at policemen.

Father bring help and repentance and love and healing to this city. We thank you 3/4 of the people were evacuated ahead of time. We pray for the others, for those who have sought shelter in many other places. Bless and help the rescue workers and others from the Salvation Army, Red Cross and most of all from Your people who are helping and trying to bring hope and love to people who only now see despair.

God also cause us to take this to heart, to pray for our own cities and countries and the world at large that we might not face a similar situation as we have seen many such things happening around the world. Lead us not into temptation to wrongfully use our fellow men, but deliver us from that evil and help us to love others as You first loved us....when we were Your enemies and unlovely.

We ask in Jesus' precious name,
Amen
