Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Jesus picks this up in the new testament in Mark chapter 4 in the parable of the sower where he says in verse 3 "Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow." And in verse 14 he tells us what the seed is where he says, "The sower soweth the word". And he tells us where the seed is sown in verse 15 where he says, "Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts", that's the soil. So, you have seed, you have soil now how about water because every seed needs water. In Ephesians 5:26 it says, "That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word", it's also the water. So, each time you speak the word you are operating in a divine principle. You are planting and watering seed. Because hearing is planting and watering. 1Corinthians 3:6,7 says, "I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase." "So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase." God gives the increase to the seed that is planted and watered not just planted.
Notice, in Joshua 1:8 He said this book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, see it's not enough just for the seed to be planted, it also has to be watered. And as a result of you planting and watering you will make your way prosperous, things are going to start showing up. Lets establish something, there is one reason why you plant and water a seed because at some point I am suppose to see what I planted. And God has established that that is how it will always be in Genesis 8:22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. Jesus keeps teaching this principle in Mark 4:26-28 where he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; 27 And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. 28 For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. And according to Jesus the kingdom is inside of God's people, Luke 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. And this kingdom is now capable of supplying your needs. Notice, in Matthew 6:30-33 30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Notice, he said take no thought saying, don't sow seeds about your circumstances, seek ye first the kingdom of God; you get a word of God as Matthew 13:19 calls it the word of the kingdom and you sow that. Because what you sow is what you get more of. You can't sow the problem and expect the answer to show up. And sometimes people say they believing God for something and that's good, but what seed have you sown. People looking for fruit, but haven't sown any seed.
But, it's what you put in you that determines what will come out of you Jesus said in Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. So, your words are an indication of what's in you, so it shouldn't be a mystery why something showed up when you were looking for something else, just listen to what's coming out of your mouth. You see this same principle concerning healing in Proverbs 4:20-22 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. All of those are instructions for you to plant and water the seeds of God's word. The word life is translated- to revive, to nourish up, and to restore life to. And the word health in Hebrew in that verse is the word marpe translated- medicine, remedy, healing, and cure. So, when I plant and water God's word of life and health I can expect to reap life and health. You can't speak/sow sickness and reap healing. You may want healing, but you get what you sow not what you want. You might want roses, but if all you sow is tulip seeds what are you going to get, tulips. Everyone understands that in the natural. Well, it's the same way it works in the spiritual. In Genesis 17:4 the Lord appeared to Abram and told him, "Thou shalt be a father of many nations" (that's a seed) and in verse 16 God told him that his wife would be "A mother of nations", but in Romans 4:19 it says, And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb. So, when God told him that his body was dead and her womb was dead and two dead bodies can't have a child physically. So, what did God do He changed their names to fit his promise from Abram-high father to Abraham-father of a multitude and from Saria-my princess to Sarah-Princess of a nations. Their names where seeds and by the planting and watering of the seeds the conditions of their bodies changed. Both of their bodies were dead so where did the life come from, the word or the seed. Where can your healing come from the word or the seed. Years prior God told him that his descendants would be like the stars in the sky and the sand on the shores, but nothing happened for years. Until God got them to plant and water the seeds.
You see the same thing in Acts 14:7-10 And there they preached the gospel. 8 And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked: 9 The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, 10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked. Notice, no one prayed for the man, no one laid hands on the man, no one called on the name of the Lord, just him and the word. While he was hearing Paul preach seed was being planted and watered and the word found good ground and produced. That can still happen. The word comes with the anointing and when the word/seed comes in contact with your spirit/soil the anointing in it is released. And when the anointing is released it will remove the burden and destroy the yoke. Example: the woman with the issue of blood, when she heard about Jesus she came in the press behind and touched his garment. And when she did power flowed out of him and she was healed. Well, who was Jesus? He was the flesh and blood anointed word of God. And long before then God had established in Malichi 4:2, that the Sun of righteousness(Jesus) shall arise with healing in his wings(referring to his garment). So, what she did with the flesh and blood Jesus you can do with the word. That's why Paul says in Romans 10:6-8 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above 7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) 8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach. You know somebody might say, "If only Jesus was here." Jesus don't have to come back for somebody to get healed, the word is nigh thee (in your mouth first then in your heart). Jesus is not coming back for someone to touch his garment, but you can plant that word in your heart. And the word will do the same as the flesh and blood word, release the anointing. God has established once again where healing is, in the word. John 1:1 says, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. So, God and his word are one. Well, God is Jehovah-Rapha The Lord our healer, and what does He heal with (He sent his word and healed them and delivered them from there destructions Psalm 107:20). So, when the word on healing is in your mouth-medicine is in your mouth, healing is in your mouth, your answer is in your mouth. And if you keep it in your mouth it will get in your heart and produce fruit after it's kind. This is a golden nugget: The word at work in your heart will defeat any sickness at work in your flesh.
Notice, in Proverbs 4 all that is instructions for us to follow because He has already made the provision. All that is a prescription for our healing, it's up to us to follow it. Get this, the word is seed and seed is not for God to do something. Seed is for you to receive something. Just by you having a seed of something is proof that God has already done something because you can't have a seed unless the fruit was first. And not only that, but the fruit or the thing is in the seed. And the only way to get out of a seed what is in it is to plant and water it. In Isaiah 55:10 it says, "God gives seed to the sower", which let's me know he's not the sower. He supplies the seed, but it's mankind that has to sow it. God is not responsible for seed not sown or word not spoken. Man has to do his part. How did all this come about, because in the beginning when God made man in Genesis 1:28 it says, And God blessed them saying "Be fruitful". That word fruitful mean - to bring forth. If you notice in Proverbs 4:23 God instructs us to guard our heart with all diligence. Because, He knows how man is made if some word get in your heart and you continue to water it that word will be seen in your life. If what's in your heart gets in your mouth it will come forth into your life, that's what Jesus said in Luke 6:45. Closing point-Adam in the garden, God told him not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil because if he did he would die. But, he choose to do his own thing, he rejected God's knowledge for his own and brought death upon all of mankind. Another golden nugget. Proverbs 15:4 says, A wholesome tongue is a tree of life. That word wholesome is the same word marpe in Proverbs 4:22 referring to God's word. So, everytime you choose to speak your own words you are choosing the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and each time you choose to speak God's word you are choosing the tree of life. And Proverbs 18:21 says, Death and life are in the power of the tongue and they that love it will eat the fruit thereof. You will eat the fruit of whatever tree you choose. *We didn't have a choice in the garden, but we do now. My last word to leave with you, remember, It's not what you want it's what you sow that counts.
It is not God's will that any should perish. And I wouldn't want to end this article without giving someone the opportunity to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. It's very easy just pray: Dear God- I know I have sinned and I now turn from them and I invite Jesus to come into my heart (Revelation 3:20). He died for my sins and you have raised him from the dead and I now confess that Jesus is my Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9,10). I thank you for saving me, Amen
Notice, in Joshua 1:8 He said this book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, see it's not enough just for the seed to be planted, it also has to be watered.
