One thing about receiving your healing from God is knowing how he operates, because when you know how he operates then you can cooperate with him. And in 1Corinthians 1:28 it tells you, God has chosen things which are not, to bring to nought(nothing) things that are. When it says things that are not it is not talking about things that don't exist, it's talking about things that are not manifested because if it didn't exist you couldn't call it a thing. So, God has chosen things that are not manifested (spiritual) to bring to nothing things that are manifested (physical). God operates at a level that is not detectable by the senses that's why you have to walk by faith and not by sight (senses). And if you don't know that then you could spend your time waiting on God to do something that's already done.
Notice, in Genesis 17:4,5 it says, 4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. 5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. And in verse 15 it says, 15 And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be. Abraham means father of a multitude and Sarah means Princess of nations. Notice, in verse 5 God told Abraham, "For a father of many nations have I made thee." Now, God told him that while his body was dead and his wife's womb was dead (Romans 4:19). So, he was not that physically, but he was that in the spirit. Don't think of the spiritual as not real or less real. John 4:24 says, God is a spirit and yet God that is a spirit was manifest in the flesh (1Timothy 3:16). Is God any less real as spirit as when he was manifested. That which is spiritual can be manifested physically by a release of faith. And the main way you release your faith is by your words.
How was God manifested in the flesh, Isaiah spoke the word God gave him, "Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son." Now, we know it takes something from a man and a woman to have a child. Once God spoke that it was done in the spirit. And in Luke 1 the angel brought that same word to Mary, "Behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son" and Mary said, "Be it unto me according to thy word." She spoke what she believed, she released her faith for in verse 45 her cousin Elizabeth said, "And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things that were told her from the Lord." And notice, in John 1:14 the scripture calls Jesus the word (spiritual) made flesh (physical).
So, when God said, "For a father of many nations have I made thee" that was spiritual and it was up to them to receive that by faith. Notice, in Romans 4:20 it says that Abraham was strong in faith and Hebrews 11:11 says, that through faith Sara received strength to conceive seed. Every time they heard or spoke their names they just didn't hear their names, but also the promise God made them. That was the purpose of changing their names to get them hearing and speaking in line with the promise. But, notice God chose what was not manifested(for a father of many nations have I made thee) to bring to nothing what was manifested (Abraham considered not the deadness of his body nor the deadness of Sarah's womb) Romans 4:19.
Another way God operates is in Romans 4:17, it says God calls things that be not (manifested) as though they were (manifested). Isn't that what he told Abraham and Sarah to do. Notice, God's method of operating is to speak it before you see it. But, the average person wants to see it and then speak it. Understand God's method, the word calleth is translated to incite by word. The word incite means to cause to act or occur. So when you call things that be not as though they were you cause them to occur, you cause them to happen. So, if you don't want to speak things before you see them you may never see them. How was God manifested in the flesh, words. He was spoken of first before he was manifested. So, when God says 1Peter 2:24, "By whose stripes you were healed" that's how it is in the spirit and you are going to have to speak that even when your body may be totally contrary. In James 3 it says 2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. 3 Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body. 4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.
Your words are very important in receiving healing. Notice, the connection God makes with the tongue and the body that you bridle your body by controlling your tongue. Notice, you control the horse's body by it's tongue. Understand what he is saying in verse 4, the ship is your body, you are the governor (spirit man), and your tongue is the helm it's what controls the ship. Did you notice even though something is coming against the ship it goes where the governor directs. Your words are so important that Proverbs talks about your words being health(medicine, healing, remedy, cure) to your flesh. But, they will only be health to your flesh when they are in line with God's words. That's why in Hebrews 10:23 it says to hold fast to your confession of faith. Confession means to say the same thing, so a confession of faith will always be in line with God's word. Because your faith should always be based of the word of God and not conditions or circumstances. So, your words are very important, use them wisely.
