Please Don't Give Up
jculver, it sure seems like you are going through some rough times. As Christians we all have our ups and downs. Seems that you have met some folks
that have tainted your view on Christianity. Please don't walk away from the Lord. You need Him. Listen to the words of wisdom that your family here at Talk Jesus has to say. In scripture, it often depicts a loved one of God, falling away and praying to come back to the Lord. Your difficulties won't get any better if you turn from God. You will end up with an empty heart and more and more troubles heaped on your head. God loves you.
Deut. 31:20
When I have brought them into the land flowing with milk and honey, the land I promised on oath to their forefathers, and when they eat their fill and thrive, they will turn to other gods and worship them, rejecting me and breaking my covenant.
Please don't reject the Lord. He has been rejected way too much already and He does anger at being rejected.
Hosea 8:3
Israel has rejected the good; The enemy will pursue him.
Jesus was rejected because He was good. Throughout His rejection He maintained His love for His Father and His sincere love for folks like us jculver.
Luke 17:25
" [Matt 16:21; Luke 9:22] But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.
Christ did this for us jculver. Please love and honor Him in return. He doesn't want you to be burdened, He wants to lift the burdens from you. God has always been that way, always loving us through our rejection of Him. Here is our Lord summed up.
Exodus 34:6
And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, "The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness,
Joel 2:13
Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.
All of us that have been saved by the Graciousness of Lord Jesus Christ and the Beautiful Compassion of our Father, are so in love with the Lord and we know that salvation comes from Lord Jesus Christ
John 3:16
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, [ Or his only begotten Son] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
If your heart and your head are worn out, don't take it out on God, take it to God. Don't disown in yourself, the Love of Jesus Christ. If the world has taken it's toll on you, don't be weary, don't give up.
Isaiah 40:29
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Instead of giving up jculver, give in to Him and rest your worries in Him. He is so able to carry your burdens.
Isaiah 40:28
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.
And finally jculver, thank the Lord for loving you. He dealt with sinful nature all the time and didn't grow weary of caring for the sinners that He loved so much. Jesus loved people, lots and lots of people and even when He was suffering while He was being crucified, He called upon the Father to forgive us for not believing in Him, from turning from the truth. He was talking about You too jculver and He is probably talking to His Father about you right now, with the words of His love, in His heart.
Luke 23:34
Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." [ Some early manuscripts do not have this sentence.] And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.
You are already forgiven if you allow Christ back into your heart. He will take you back with joy in His heart.
# Psalm 30:11
You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,
Psalm 51:12
Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
jculver, the Lord's Word was meant to share. Receive His love with an open heart. Do not let your heart grow cold.
John 15
"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love. 11I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. 14You are my friends if you do what I command. 15I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. 17This is my command: Love each other.
Hoping you come back to Christ jculver. Jesus is right now, rounding up the sheep. Listen closely and you will hear Him calling.
Amen
