So....In the last days, I see a great falling away....but everyone talks of a great revival....I see scripture for a falling away. Can someone show me scripture for a great revival in the last days? Or is that revival simply wishful thinking?

The problem may very well be that what is seen as a great revival is the actual falling away from the faith that was prophesied about so prove everything with Jesus Christ in helping you to discern the lies because there can be no lie of the truth in any so called great revival being supposedly done in His name.

LOL I'm not sure what you are saying here. Are you saying that the church is confusing this prophesy about the falling away of the saints with a revival? How is that possible...It clearly says "Falling Away" How can Christians confuse that? Unless they think like democrats?

Matthew 24:23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
25 Behold, I have told you before.
26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.

Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

If you consider how some Christians promote a movement of the "Spirit" as if that is the Spirit of Christ here or there, performing miracles and such, & many are falling per loss of self control in those movements, they would call it as a revival but in all respect, it is the apostasy of falling away from the faith in seeking another baptism with the Holy Ghost with evidence of tongues, slain in the spirit, holy laughter movement, Pensacola outpouring, Toronto's Blessings, and even Ernest Angeley's Healing Crusade where he announces the Holy Spirit falling on believers to cause them to fall backwards for miracles of healing and casting out devils.

So those are examples of how a movement of the spirit thinking that is the Holy Spirit can be seen as a revival but in actuality, it is the falling away from the faith in giving heed to seducing spirits & doctrines of devils.

1 Timothy 4:1Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

The hypocrisy is saying they believe the Holy Ghost is in them and yet they believe they are receiving Him again.

2 Corinthians 11:1Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.
2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

2 Thessalonians 2:1Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.

7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

Verses 13-15 is the tradition taught of us of when we had received the sanctification of the Spirit & the belief of the truth which was at the calling of the gospel and at no other times.

Antichrist means instead of Christ and so the spirit of the antichrist is doing just that, luring believers into chasing after them to receive by a sign instead of keeping their eyes on the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, in resting in Him as always Spirit-filled since salvation.

It is by that work of seeking to receive the Holy Spirit again AND BY A SIGN is how that work of iniquity of denying the Lord that bought them is seen by the Lord as IT is.

2 Peter 2:1But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

This damnation mentioned in 2 Peter 2:3 AND again in 2 Thessalonians 2:12 is being left behind as disqualified and thus reprobates in becoming vessels unto dishonor in His House for not departing from that iniquity. They will be resurrected after the great tribulation, as still in His House, to serve the King of kings on earth; however, while the door to the Marriage Supper is still open, may every one that name the name of Christ, depart from iniquity now.

2 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

2 Timothy 2:24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Matthew 24:23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.

Ok I understand what you are saying...Thank you. I'm cognitavely impaired. At times I can be a bit slow.

At least you understand. You can thank the Lord for that.

I thank the Lord for giving me ears to hear and eyes to see and He has been plenty patient with me in receiving the truth in His words even when I had ears to hear and eyes to see. Yep. Sometimes it takes a while still, but I thank Him for not giving up on me in helping me see the truth in His words.

So then.....I'll take it that there is nothing about a great revival before the rapture? That doctrine is no more than wishful thinking.

Publishing your ignorance of what God is doing throughout the world in these very last days does you no credit.

Well, thank you for that slap! It makes a delicious tingly sensation to ones skin! WHERE DOES THE BIBLE SAY THERE WILL BE A GREAT REVIVAL BEFORE THE RAPTURE? Perhaps instead of being nasty you could just answer the question?
Falling away.....2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

Great Revival.....???????????????

Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
It is happening in the world. And the world is a much larger place than Alberta, Canada.
Africa and all parts of Asia are experiencing enormous Pentecostal revivals. The gospel is being preached throughout the whole world.
Yes there will be a great falling away, but in order for this to occur there has to be growth in the body of Christ in sufficient numbers for their to be this falling away.

You should read the entire chapter of Matt 24 Are you Pentecostals the only ones spreading the Gospel? Really? Has God given the message only to Pentecostals then?

You should read Acts and the epistles.
The gospel of salvation is Pentecostal.
Waggles Instead of pushing demominationalism you should push the truth.....I care nothing for demominations and I'm sure God does not either. Denominationalism only leads to pride.
A revival is a return to God....as in reviving your faith and committment to Him....There cannot be a great falling away and a great revival at the same time. They would cancel each other out and you would wind up with a Great Nothing.

There cannot be a great falling away and a great revival at the same time. They would cancel each other out and you would wind up with a Great Nothing.
Matthew 22:11 “But when the king came in to look at the guests, he saw there a man who had no wedding garment.
12 And he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless.
13 Then the king said to the attendants, ‘Bind him hand and foot and cast him into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
14 For many are called, but few are chosen.”

Admon Mikha'el, Sorry for joining this conversation so late. Also forgive any disjointed thoughts. I'm just getting over Covid, and I'm still a little tired.

Revelation 5:9 says, "And they sang a new song, saying, 'Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation...'" and Revelation 7:9-10 says, "After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, 'Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!'"

As has been mentioned above, in Matthew 24:14, Jesus said, "And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."

The Greek word for nation in both verses is ethnos which Strong's defines as "a race (as of the same habit), that is, a tribe; specifically a foreign (non-Jewish) one (usually by implication pagan): - Gentile, heathen, nation, people."

According to the Joshua Project, "there are approximately 17,428 unique people groups in the world with 7,400+ of them considered unreached (over 42% of the world's population!). The vast majority (85%) of these least reached groups exist in the 10/40 window and less than 10% of missionary work is done among these people." (see Unreached People Groups).

Based on these three passages, we still have a ways to go before Christ can return.

So that brings up another question: When will Jesus return? Ignore for now the different beliefs of pre-tribulation, mid-trib, post-trib, etc., but people have been expecting Jesus to return for 2000 years (see Predictions and claims for the Second Coming - Wikipedia - this includes Christian and non-Christian predictions). What if Jesus doesn't return for another 500 years...or 1000 years? Should we, as the Church, just sit back and do nothing? No. We have a job to do: "Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation" (Mark 16:15).

In another reply, you quoted 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 as your "Ah ha! See a falling away. Not a great revival." But notice what it says, "...for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition...he sits as God in the temple of God..."

Has the man of sin been revealed? No? Then we still have time.

Is there even a "Temple of God" for the man of sin to sit in? No. Then we still have time.

We must also acknowledge that we sometimes misunderstand Scripture. The Jews, when expecting their coming Messiah 2000 years ago, were looking for a King. Instead they got a Sacrificial Lamb. Could it be that we misunderstand what the "falling away" means?

But, you may say, the prophecies point to the imminent return of Christ. I agree with you. It seems that many of the prophecies are being fulfilled...but not all of them (i.e., the preaching the Gospel to every tribe).

You may say, things have never been as bad as they are now. I disagree with you. Watch J. Edwin Orr's messages on revival, especially The Role of Prayer in Spiritual Awakening

So why not believe God for revival today? If not for some "Great Revival," what about a "great revival where I'm at" that affects your community?

I'm sure you believe that the Falling Away doesn't mean every single Christian living at the time. So we should be busy making as many disciples as possible while we still have time. And if God chooses to send revival...well, that would be awesome.

Good point.

More emphasis/focus is needed..on 'the least reached'..
