Guilty by association

There are certain passages in the Bible similar to these...

2Jn 1:10; If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting;
2Jn 1:11; for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds.

1Cor 5:11; But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler—not even to eat with such a one.
1Cor 5:12; For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Do you not judge those who are within the church?
1Cor 5:13; But those who are outside, God judges. REMOVE THE WICKED MAN FROM AMONG YOURSELVES.

There are times, when we ourselves aren't committing a particular sin. But we enjoy the company of those who do. I had an uncle once who drank like a fish and told the dirtiest jokes. I myself didn't tell the jokes,
but I heard plenty of them. He was a fun guy to be around, but he wasn't a Christian by any means, nor did he claim to be. It would be worse if he did claim to be a Christian. There are some Christians like this.

The Bible says to avoid these people. It says to remove them away from you, remove them from the church. It says do not even give them a greeting, or you are guilty also.

Matt 18:17; "If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.

Let them be like a Gentile or tax collector, in this case that means.. "have nothing to do with them".

Rom 1:32; and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.

It says here that even those who merely approve of other people who practice certain sins are worthy of death. You might say, well I'm not homosexual, but I'm OK with other people who are.
The Bible says if you approve of it, you are worthy of death.

It's OK to debate some things with fellow Christians, and it's even OK to disagree sometimes. ( iron sharpens iron ) but when someone is reprobate, and "goes too far".

2Jn 1:9; Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son.

Then it's time to move on. Make new friends.

In real life, thats a good thing to follow, but due to miscommunications and misunderstandings especially online where you truly dont know the person, not the same. I have pretty good understanding of others that I meet regularly face to face, due to a double gift of discernment, both the spiritual kind and the learned kind from experience. Face to face, I can often tell alot about a person, just by looking at them, really looking at them, thier words are of course important, but I can see past the words, to both actions, and the uncontrollable body language that people rarely can completely keep under control. Surprisingly, most people arent tuned into these things, or wrongly judge body language, due to poor judgement. Sometimes when someone might be telling a lie, speaking the words with a nervous body language only means its not the complete truth they are sharing, but not necessarily a lie. Online you cant tell, unless your spiritual discernment is good enough to tell (and not confused with self righteous judgement).
