There's an increase in child abuse and disturbing behaviors. The church is alseep and seem to live in a lala land where no demons exist. The only time they speak of being under spiritual attack is when they have money problems. The devil is real, demons are real and people are being lead by evil spirits every day. Forgetting how nice halloween is to you and your community, why would you want to be out the same night satanist and the occult are worshipping. Nothing is wrong playing dress up, but why the need and want to dress up with the world. Creating alternatives is saying you're missing out on something. Stay at home with your family and enjoy each others presence in the Lord. Today the church have to many things in common with the world. We just change the name, throw some pixy dust and puff we made it Christian. If you can't stand for anything, what example are you showing your kids. Today is halloween, when they get older clubbing for Jesus, yoga for Jesus, pole dancing for Jesus...the possibilities are endless. All you have to do is slap Jesus or Christian on it and it's acceptable.

God created this world giving us his best, Jesus sacrificing himself, allowing himself to be spat on and verbally abused. Never once being selfish. Yet you kids of the Heavenly father choose to give God second best, you choose to take from the world and offer it up to God. You take from the devil and call it holy. You dress like those who are demon posses, you watch movies produced by those who mock Jesus and then you boldly say I give my life to you Lord.

God deserve more, stop the compromise.
I don't celebrate Christmas, Easter and birthdays. Our birthdays should be used to honor God and our mothers. We did not bring ourselves into this world. Abortion could have taken place. The anniversary of our birth should be treated as a New Year celebration of thanksgiving.

You can have costume parties for your kids at church and harvest other days of the year. But why do you need halloween to do it ? Is your motivation to get people into your church parking lot ? Is it to keep the kids interested in church?

Acting like the world to bring the world to church or to keep the youths active is a sign of a desperate church more concern about building church membership.

Some behaviors are embedded within the American culture and just watching the news and reading articles you can see the fruits it's producing.
Child abuse is not saddening for everyone nor does it usher some to sound the alarm. Surely not everyone drinks the same tea.

If anything, these movies remind me of how blessed I am that the stuff doesn't happen.

It is October 31st with a name, a name that gives people a right to go around asking for candy. People don't care what pagans did with a day with and entirely different name. Only people who do that kind of craziness care, and people who have their own opinions about it.

No teen or adult has that in mind, and they all go drinking and partying and getting high. Not everyone does that. The people that do that, do it on other holidays, on weekends, or all the time (usually). People don't need a special occasion to do these things. it's their choice to do them.

No I didn't watch the videos, I am sure I have heard about things like them all before. I didn't feel that I had to, I can watch videos about people doing bad things if it makes you feel better though.

As a Christian the Lord moved me into a different walk from what was at first started. My life changed drasticully when filled with the Holy Spirit. After going to the churches who had the same mind, in two cases was able to enter into the lives of people who were witches. After knowing for awhile that there was a real devil, these people told no lies. They were converted to be Christians and walked away from that life. One of them asked me to help get rid of her mother's case of witchcraft. The gal didn't stay on witth the Lord and she had told me her mother was angry and would see her daughter die. She was in a terrible car accident and died . She was around 18 yrs.

I was in training for something that was also bad. Didn't make it because God delivered me first. The devil made a deal with me that if I stay in the music I was in he would put me on the charts.
In Jesus I am given a gift of music that no one else has. God gave a better deal. All this to say that halloween is a day invented to be evil, though at the same time it looks innocent. The devil always invents things so as to never know the truth. He is called a angel of light. He really appears as a angel of light also a wolf in sheep clothing.
almost sounds like a costume in both cases. light is to bring out darkness to see what it is. unfortunately many don't ask God what he thinks and expect him to answer. Don't mean to sound critical there. God has the answers. In James 1:5 it shows us we can ask for wisdom and believe he will give it to us liberally. amen

I find it odd that children go knocking on stranger’s doors for candy. I think it is ok if parents are with the children but here in Australia we use the slogan ‘Stranger Danger’. Children are taught not to talk to strangers except only if you need help. Yet young children ignore this on Halloween. It bewilders me. To think that some children would knock on the doors of those people in your first post.

Instead of getting offended you need to communicate why you came to your first conclusion, or the basis for the comment. List the trash posted in the thread and the video, giving scripture and factual evidence.

In a discussion you have to add to the thread, I don't understand anything your saying because I can only respond on the videos not your comment. It's easy to say a couple words or phrases here and there, but how do people from the outside learn. If you find error or have an opinion you share it but with facts not with emotional driven rants of sarcasm.

Now if you watched the videos a lot of things would make sense. I do not live in other parts of the world and it would be very unethical for me to try to speak for other countries, so all observation is done on the soil I stand on. News reports can be check for being authentic. This country is very influential internationally through the media and entertainment business.

The truth is watching these movies desensitizes you and put people into a false world that things things are merely make believe, so it's ok if I entertain it. It's ok if I dress up as one. It's only a movie right ?

There's a lot of symbolism in these movies, some of these directors get their inspiration from occult practices.

Judgmental no. I have nothing against immigrants or muslims. Explain how I was rude so I can examine it. The biggest problem with this technology, blogging, social networking, instant messaging world is the freedom to say whatever whenever, but once questioned or challenged censorship and building of defense wall begin. Remember it was your comment that started this conversation and set the tone.

What happens when those kind of comments are made, people tend to respond back to you and not watch the videos themselves. For they are under the impression you know what you're talking about because you viewed the video. Now they know you didn't and was just talking.

Yes I believe the church ( the body of christ ) have compromised it's beliefs ( whether it be man made beliefs or biblical beliefs ), and yes it flows through it's believers.( this causes the believers to make other compromises in their daily lives outside the congregation). Most of these compromises have good intentions, making the church more attractive to this generation, getting members involve or outreach.

The question is... How many people who visit a church on halloween for candy will come to church next sunday ?

We have exciting things in store of Church in a bar. We will be announcing our next venue in the Summer of 2010! Currently, Connect .... Church is meeting at ...... Mall at 9:45 am & 11:15 am (We have two identical services)! Don’t worry, we’re still the same, casual, honest, loving people. And our venue still feels just like a nightclub.

Line up my paragraphs with your paragraphs, I made it very simple. I addressed everything that you said in the correct order. It should be easy enough for anyone to understand. I am responding directly to you, and it's obvious enough. No offense.

When I brought up you irrelevant remark about how I reminded you of an atheist, I addressed it as a whole. It is obvious you were trying to get under my skin because of the "EH" in capitalized letters afterward. You were mocking me, and you cannot deny that at all. Anyone with an average IQ level can notice it. Stop trying to explain it, if you can't accept the responsibility of these things then don't speak or type them in the first place. You could even apologize.

You can't speak for other countries in the world? You can't even speak for this one you're in. You don't know every single person in the United States. You don't know all the actions the United States does. You know the bad because that's all you pay attention to. To you, bad is more important than the good. No one is perfect, no country is perfect. Yes the United States is a bad influence, but so are countries with terrorists and various groups of crazies. The United States is just in the spotlight for now, if it was another country it would be the same exact thing.

You didn't say that, but you did it. You pinpointed the United States above all other countries. You pinpointed evil as the United States. You ignored the larger picture for a moment, and focused on an entire country. This might not have been your intention, but it is what came out in text.

No need to post your pictures of crazies again, I already said that people do that. I watch vampire, zombie, and magic movies often. I'm not going out here biting people, eating people, who trying to cast a spell on someone. I know I don't need blood to survive. I know that I don't want to eat human flesh because the concept itself is gross. I don't want to try casting spells, because I know spells and modern day witchcraft is full of it.

These movies are just movies to me. They have nothing at all to do with my real life. Movies are just something to do to kill time and escape reality for a bit. I don't take them seriously. Horror movies are based off these things, but it doesn't mean that they are trying to spread it around. They are meant to scare you and provide suspense. It's fun for some people to get that feeling sometimes. It doesn't mean they believe in these things, or go out and do them. People who do them are already crazy like that.
