'Blessed is the man
.. that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,
.... nor standeth in the way of sinners,
...... nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
........ But his delight is in the law of the LORD;
.......... and in His law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water,
.. that bringeth forth his fruit in his season;
.... his leaf also shall not wither;
...... and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
The ungodly are not so:
.. but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
.... Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
...... nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous:
but the way of the ungodly shall perish.'

Hello there,
Blessed or 'happy' is the man that -
- walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,
- nor standeth in the way of sinners
- nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful
- but his delight is in the law of the Lord (ie., the written word)
- and in His law doth he meditate day and night.
* This certainly is the means of securing peace of mind and a heart stayed on Christ our Saviour. Of honouring Him in our life and witness, isn't it?
* I have been doing a fair bit of reading throughout these days of covid restriction, a lot of that reading has been the Bible itself and associated books, but a great deal has been fiction, I have also been watching more television drama. Though not without some conviction of mind. For surely my mind and my time should not be taken up with the imagination of the minds of others, no matter how entertaining. For time is short, and there is so much to learn of God,
* How much of our conversation with others is taken up with trivia and polite conversation, giving our opinion on world affairs and the things of this life?
* I am 73 years of age, and am aware of the passage of time more now, and want to use the time that I have left in a manner that will glorify God, and bring honour to Him. Looking back on my life, with my husband and children, and now with my grandchildren, so much of that time has been wasted on things which have no enduring substance, and which are fruitless spiritually. Yes, I have loved and given and been there for my family, but the things closest to my heart, in Christ Jesus, have had very little opportunity of expression.
* I think now of David's words in (Psalm 39:4-7):-
'LORD, make me to know mine end,
and the measure of my days, what it is;
that I may know how frail I am.
Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth;
and mine age is as nothing before thee:
verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.
Surely every man walketh in a vain shew:
surely they are disquieted in vain:
he heapeth up riches,
and knoweth not who shall gather them.
And now, Lord, what wait I for?
my hope is in Thee. '
Praise God!
Thank you for listening.
