Have I found god

Hi! Im si, I'm new to this group. I’m not catholic so I hope it’s ok to join because I have some questions that I hope you good people will be able to answer so I may hopefully find my way.

I will say first I hope no one gets offended by anything I write.

I was bought up in a small village and attended the village C+E primary school and would go to church for Easter, Christmas and harvest festival etc. September 98 my Nan passed away and the very next day my parents were killed in a road accident. 8 weeks later my wife gave birth to our first child. I stayed strong and protected my wife through the following months even though I was going through so much grief myself. I was also a Fire Fighter so was dealing with the most traumatic experiences on a weekly basis. Fast forward 25 years and I’ve left the fire service and been diagnosed with PTSD.

Due to my own loss and grief and dealing with death first hand in my job I questioned if god was real and if so (a) was I being punished or tested and (B) why were others suffering loss or injury.

(C) why so much pain and evil in the world.

I don’t think I was religious in this time, I think choosing to not believe made thoughts in my head easier.

I’ve recently started to question myself though. I had a very vivid emotional dream a few weeks ago and I’m positive god spoke to me. For the first time in years I felt safe, calm and at peace.

So my question is how do i know if I’ve found god? has god spoken to me to help me believe.

He may well have.
God calls people out to himself.
Then often he follows this with Spirit-filled Christians turning up and preaching the gospel to you.
After that the ball is in your court.

It may very well have a group meeting close to where you are. It matters not how long it has been since they have passed away. It can help if you let it in dealing with the associated grief that we have when a loved one die.
