I've been battling with headaches and migraines since I was 3 years old. I know it's a demon and I have faith in the name of Jesus I will be healed from this oppression.

Does anyone know of home redemies that PREVENT migraines and headaches? The doctors gave me some presciption to take every day, but I don't like to take medicines. I think your body becomes dependant on them after a while.

However, I have been taking a daily multi vitamin lately.

I'm open to any suggestions

I use to suffer also as a child. From the age of about four i think. My parents had a dummy they use to give me to calm me down back then i used it whenever i got one till i was about seven.

Now when i feel it coming ,i go into the shower and turn it up as hot as it will go. I inhale the steam and then i get in and shower for about half an hour i take it as hot as i can. The heat eases the pain and when i get out i have a hot cup of milky tea. (really milky and little to no tea) it works wonders and it eases very quickly ,a big hint though do not allow yourself to get cold when you have one it makes it worse keep warm with a blanket. Heat works wonders for migraines.

Wow really? That's funny you say that... I use everything cold when I have one. I put an ice pack on my forehead and try to sleep in a cold dark room with no noise.

I will definitely try the heat. I've generally stuck with what I know works, but at this point, I'm willing to try almost anything to prevent them.

oh hunny keep away from the cold, make sure your nice and warm and it will really help xxxx

My son suffers from migrains. He is 16 now he started having them when he was about 8. We kept a record of what he ate. Alot of foods will cause migrains. For him it was chicken. He was also prescribed meds for them but didn't like the side affects. Now we watch what he eats. He still gets them when he gets stressed out. When he feels one coming on he will eat chocolate and drink a soda. This usually helps him. I hope this helps you some. Those headachs are nasty.

I've suffered from migraines all my life. I think it has to do with my allergies. I've found that nasal sprays usually are the best to help fight them, that and prayer.

Truly,
My husband used suffer severe migraines. Lights would have to be out and he would not be able to hold anything down for 8 hours at least one or two times a month.
He started taking soy lecithin and that lessened his problem. The thinking behind it is that soy lecithin has similar consistency to the fluid that helps the synapses of the brain function correctly. We still aren't sure if this is the reason.
Then I read that if you drink a Gatorade when you first start feeling a migraine come on it will stop or lessen it considerably. We had nothing to lose in trying this. He had a bottle with him until one day at work he could see the ocular pattern that preceeded his episodes. He drank the Gatorade and realized the migraine began to subside. He keeps one at home and one at work.
He also found that things like soda, Wyers lemonade and that type of thing tends to bring them on so document what you are eating and drinking prior to your migraine, you might find a pattern.
Hope this helps!!

.. Doctor told me, to stay away from chocolate.try this for a month and come back, didn't need to go back' (knock on wood)never had another migraine. God is good, all the time.

I was diagnosed with migraines a few years ago. I had them really bad, I wanted to die, they would last for a couple of days. I was on prescribed medicine that helped somewhat, then I suppose I just got immune to it and it stopped working.

Ok I will get to the point.

:lightbulb Feverfew.:lightbulb It is a natural herb, it has been used for hundreds of years for headaches and migraines. Feverfew has helped me tremendously. It lessened the severity of the migraines and the frequency of them. I rarely get them now and if I do they are manageable. I have been using this herb for about 4 years.

My husband now takes feverfew aswell for headaches, and he is not into the natural remedies like myself, but he saw firsthand how this herb helped me.

Thank you so much for all your suggestions!!! I will definitely try some of these things.

I haven't found any pattern with what I eat. I've tried to make a connection between my migraines and my food, but I don't think there's one with me personally. I tried to link them to EVERYTHING in my life- my food, my soap, laundry detergent, toothpaste (LOL), but no connection.

I will definitely try the herb after some research. I don't like getting addicted to medicines and unnatural things so the herbs are worth a shot.

Lately I've been taking a multivitamin and 300 mg of green tea each day. I have a lot more energy and haven't had a migraine in about a week.

I'll keep you all updated. Thank you so much for your prayers and advice
