I like to say a bit about my background in relation to divine healing. I went to hear a Preacher in the late 1970's preach on how Jesus died for our sins and how He bore our sicknesses when He was scourged with a Roman whip. He asked all those who wanted healing to picture Jesus' back and to see that whip with its weighted metal tip slice through Jesus' back and to see the individual stripes as paying the price for their sickness, 1 stripe paid for cancer, another for heart disease another for arthritis etc. While they were looking at Jesus' back: The preacher prayed for the release of the Holy Spirit and many, many people were healed where they stood of sicknesses and diseases, some were lying on the floor under the power of Holy Spirit being healed where they lay.

That gave me a desire to move in the revelation of divine healing. At this point I didn't know the difference between faith for healing and mental assent. So there was a transition period between seeing and believing, I had seen God healing people and believed, but now I needed to believe to see.
When I first started to believe for my own healing, I found I had a battle in my mind. When I would confess the word that by Jesus' stripes I was healed, I'd feel the corners of my mouth turn down and I'd feel unhappy, it was a real strain on my brain to believe and consequently nothing happened in my body. But what I didn't realise was I was actually making progress.
My carnal mind that wouldn't submit to God's Word was objecting. It went something like this, declaring that you are healed when you are sick is wrong!!! You are sick, not healed you are sick.

But I couldn't except that I had to remain sick because I'd been to this wonderful meeting where the presence of God filled the place it was a taste of heaven on earth. The rule and reign of heaven had come into that meeting, it was your kingdom come your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, in a measure. Salvation came to many, others were set free from bondage and ungodly habits
others were filled with the Holy Spirit and many were healed of sicknesses and diseases.
That told me there was a lot more in God than some of the folk in the denomination I was involved with would have me believe.

The light finally came through a series of steps, I started going to a church where they believed in divine healing and saw a lot of sick people healed of various diseases. So there was a corporate faith in that church and a high expectation that if they asked God the Father to heal someone in Jesus name it would happen, most of the time. It was a big lift to my faith to fellowship with such people.

The first physical healing I received from the Lord was at an evening meeting during a time of prayer. I was a little confused by the meetings, charismatic worship was alien to me. I was praying to the Lord in the quiet of my own heart about responding to being prayed for. When the Lord revealed to a sister supernaturally exactly what I had prayed. And she added if I respond to the offer of prayer the Lord would meet me at my point of need. So I went forward to be prayed for, I thought for the confusion to go. One man prayed and the other man just kept repeating Jesus' name. I felt something come down through my head go round in my face several times and then go back up through my head again. At this point I had no idea that I just been healed. I came to the meeting with a dark and angry looking gum it bled at the slightest touch. Towards the end of the meeting I touched my gum with my tongue and there was no pain. I went and found a mirror and looked, the sore gum was now completely normal, I was healed, praise Jesus.

The next problem I had was with a wart on my right index finger. I tried praying without much success, it did seem to shrink a bit but I gave up believing. I went to the chemist and got something that burns warts out. It didn't work very well. So I asked for prayer in a home group meeting. Nothing happened. So I reckoned I'm just going to have to believe what the Lord said in His Word, “... by His wounds I'm healed. It took a while but once I believed the Word was true, the wart vanished.

Another time I was struggling with a bad cold, I'd been trying to make a stand in faith when the Holy Spirit took me outside my physical body for a moment. I saw my body coughing and spluttering, but in my spirit I was completely liberated from all symptoms; it was glorious. Then is a second I was back in my body and the Lord said to me, “Now you tell your body what you've got.” And that was the divine life of the Holy Spirit. So I now realised that the divine, healing life of God was within me. So now with the Greater One within me, the Holy Spirit and the Word of God the Bible and verses like Proverbs 4:20-22 and Isaiah 53:4-5 etc I was well on the way to living and abiding in divine health. When I was finally able to visualise Jesus' back being scourged according to the scriptures, and seeing those strips of broken bleeding flesh paying the price for my sicknesses I was seldom ever sick for more than a few moments, half an hour if I was having an off day.

Once I learned how to walk in faith for my own healing, I was able to minister it to others too. Often with astounding results.
I believe these principles of believing, visualizing and giving thanks will work for anyone who needs physical healing. You might have to stick with it until you have a break through.

God bless,
Tonyb

Tonyb: Your testimony is exciting and I believe that the healings occured. But, what of the people in those meetings who truly had faith to believe in divine healing, yet weren't healed; people who did not have sin issues that block healing, people whose faith level was high?

For the many believers who struggle with the issue of unanswered prayer, I recommend a recently published book by Pete Grieg entitled "God on Mute - engaging the language of unanswered prayer."

Wow Tony that is such a blessing to read of what God has done in your life for you. The name of Jesus is so powerful and some people do not realise it. I am amazed daily by what God is doing and how He uses me too.

Blessed are those who believe but do not see. We have to believe to see.

Thomas wanted to see first to believe.

God bless you

Hi, ladylovesJesus,

Thanks for your encouraging words.

Since you mentioned the name of Jesus that reminds me of another testimony.
From the brother who taught us to visualize Jesus' back as He was being scourged for our healing.

He was preaching the gospel of the kingdom in a sports stadium. He had seen a poster that said, Only those that can see the invisible can do the impossible. It's based on Hebrews 11:27 (See also Ephesians 1:17-18 ...that the eyes of you heart or understanding might be opened...) Anyway the Lord impressed upon him that in stead of having the brothers go lay hands on people who needed healing, he was to visualize Jesus as being the answer for everyones needs.

When he got to the meeting and after the praise and worship, a sister prophesied, “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus that is my name and my name will be like and ointment poured forth in healing this night saith the Lord.”
This brother said to the Lord, “all I have to do is say your name, Jesus?” The Lord said, “No, you have to see me through the eyes of faith and then say it.”
So it came to the moment in the meeting where he was to use the name of Jesus. There was a ground, middle and upper section to this stadium and he was to use Jesus' name for each section of the stadium.
So with his eyes of faith fixed steadfastly on the Lord He said, “ Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,” and about 500 sick people were healed. The first one to testify was a lady who had been totally blind, she said on hearing the name of Jesus something like hot pins nit into the back of her eyes and she could see. (Acts 4:9-12.)

Blessings,
Tony

Hi SpiritLedEd,

That's a hard one, I've no idea what's going on there. Sound's like it could be a case for specialist ministry.

I do remember a time however, when I was praying for a ladies bad back. She didn't receive a thing, I had a twinge of pain in my own back from time to time, and because the lady didn't receive it the Lord sent the healing strait back to me, it was great.

Blessings,
Tony

Brother Tony this was very encouraging and motivating. It really edified me personally to believe and actually, in perfect timing . My sister is going for ultrasound today to find out what the two lumps are in her neck area. I believe she will be healed in Jesus' name.

Thank you for posting this. It was a great read!

What you describe here is what I have been going through, but I too didn't realise I was making progress.

I have heard preachers on tv saying 'confess things as if they are already are even though they haven't come to pass yet.' And I think this is what it is. I now confess I am healed in the name of Jesus, and by His stripes I am healed. And there is no longer 'strain in my brain' or any confusion, if that healing has not yet manifested into something I can see.

And just lately I have confessed healing upon myself and it has happened within hours. I had a sore throat and it went and other minor ailments. I also believe the same for the arthritis condition that I have, though the healing is not something that has manifested completely into something I can see, however there has been big improvements. And there is a knowing that I am healed and a peace I have about it, which I didn't have before.

Oh dear! There is too much of Thomas in me!

This thread is an amazing read and something that I need to take on board before it is too late.

Does it only work for physical healing? What about other types of healing eg emotional healing?

Thank you

Hi Apple,

Yes it does work for emotional healing.

The fact is that Jesus our bore infirmities and pains, that is both physical, emotional, spiritual every type of pain we could ever suffer God the Father laid them all upon Jesus. Jesus carried them away to the cross, died, was buried and left them all there. Then he rose from the dead completely free from of those things.

So as far as God the Father and Jesus the Son in concerned they've been dealt with once and for ever. We now have to enter into the finished work of the cross through faith in what God has done there for us through Christ.

Usually the difference between physical healing and emotional healing is there is often a need to forgive the person who caused the pain. Then the forgiveness releases the healing. God in His mercy can give people the grace – His ability – to forgive the most dreadful things imaginable, and He wants too.

There was a rubbish dump near to where I live and toxic waste was buried there. The hole was filled up, leveled off and houses were built on the site. Eventually the toxic waste started to seep up through the ground and effect people's health in the houses. No doubt you've figured out that emotional pain is a bit like toxic waste. It's buried in the depths of the soul, messing up people's emotions and the quality of their lives.

If that is you Apple I suggest you present your self to the Lord and invite Him to come and deal with these areas of pain. Then just wait for His leading. Psalm 139
might be helpful to you.

Have you made any Christian contacts in Germany yet? There are often ministry teams in good churches to help people through emotional problems. I've been through these problems myself, and life is just so fantastic once Jesus sets you free.

Blessings,
Tony

Thank you so much for your kind reply.

I really liked the way that you explained about Jesus dying and leaving all of our pain in the grave. I have never understood it that way before. That is so clear and simple.

Yes I do need emotional healing as well as physical healing. I still have big issues from the past that I need to forgive. I have already asked God to help me to forgive.

There is a church 21km from me that I have found on one of the websites that I was given, but at the moment, I am too scared to contact them.

Hi

Thanks for the post. What a shame that I do not live in Frankfurt. I live in NRW.

Thanks Tony for taking the time to tell us about your experience, and your healing.
We are praying in our fellowship to see more of this divine healing. Recently some have come into a new experience with the Lord and have been dramatically changed. A wife tells of living with a different person.....since the Holy Spirit came upon her husband.
We are calling upon the Lord to continue the outpouring of His Spirit.

On the other hand we have chronic sickness. Faith seems apparent, Gods servants are sincere, but we need a mighty miracles.

We are involved in Gods work, Amen? Saviour, Healer, Baptizer and Coming King.

Lord Jesus we look to you today. O God come amongst us us and deliver from all pain. Lord Jesus we look to you

Courage is not the absence of fear. Courage is trusting God in spite of being afraid.

"Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid, you are worth more than many sparrows."((Mt 10:29-31)
