Very simply my belief is that God is able to heal physically as well as spiritually but sometimes it may not be His will as for example when it comes to changing a person's appointed time to die:
Ecc 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
Ecc 3:2 A time to be born, and a time to die;
We know that God did answer King Hezekiah's prayer and extended his natural life by 15 years [II Kings 20], but should we even ask for such an extension and should we expect it?
I also believe that if we ask for help against the things that would move us away from God He will help us... if we approach Him in the right way. In the following verse we see things which will put us in opposition to God if they allowed to rule us:
1Jn 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
