Just as the apostle Paul described his own challenges in 2 Corinthians 11, Gospel for Asia missionaries and staff worldwide also face a broad spectrum of struggles in their efforts to reach the lost and plant churches. Sometimes it is violent opposition unlike what we experience in the West. At other times, it takes forms all too familiar to us. And their families are not exempt from any of these struggles.
Recently Ruth, the young daughter of Pastor Roy in Madhya Pradesh, had to be rushed to the hospital where she was treated for typhoid and for a dangerous level of dehydration. In another area, Pastor Isaac and his wife faced some difficult days when their son was born prematurely. Both of these dear families praise the Lord for His healing touch in these situations, and they ask for your continuing prayers that God's hand of protection would keep them safe from every attack by the enemy.
And these are just two examples of the spiritual attacks on thousands of our missionaries and their families each day.
So as you and I pray for these brothers and sisters laboring for the Gospel in Asia, we are privileged to share in both their burdens and their victories as they bring the light of God's hope to their own people.
And, dear friend, like anyone who has entered the battle for lost souls, I know you have your own trials and difficulties as well. I want you to know that our hearts are with you and that we intercede regularly for the various needs and challenges you may be facing today.
Thank you for your faithfulness,
