Help thou My Unbelief!

Before I move on with this,I would like to thank TMan for the idea after I read what he wrote.

Doubt!! Faith teachers, at least many of them say,that if you have this you do without. Ah But this is not true!! For no matter how young, or how old a believer is in Jesus,he or she will always have doubt. Not always in Jesus!! But rather in there belief of him!

Example number 1. Mark 9:15-29 Jesus said in verse 23 IF YOU CAN? All things are possible to him who believes. VERSE 24!!! I Do believe!! Help thou my unbelief!! Now a crowd was gathering,did they hear the talk Jesus had with this Father? The disciples themselves had to have doubt as well!! Verse 28 and 29 says so.

They walked with Jesus!! They had doubt to??? Did they not all flee when Jesus was to be taken to the cross??( matt 26:56) Jesus asked a question not just to them, but to us as well ,If YOU CAN??? Can we?Is it possible to have no unbelief? Of any kind??? For many of us,it is never a matter of whether Jesus can do anything or not,we all know he sure can!!( Luke 1:37) BUT!!

Can we believe?? Example Number 2. Luke 18:35-43!! Jesus asked the man a question he already knew the answer to! WHY?? My brothers and sisters because Faith comes By hearing!!( rom 10:17) and hearing by what??? The Word of Christ!!!( or the Word HIMSELF!!) ( our Bible) The point!! The more we hear,the greater faith we have!!

Jesus meets us where each of us are in him!! We cannot compare our salvation to another,because each one of us has our very own testimony. Many have faith in one area of there life ,but not in another,why? Because all of us have a weakness!ALL of us do! And why is this do you suppose? I believe the reason is, because if we did not have any weakness,we would boast in us,rather then in Jesus in us. Why cannot you believe??? I can and did in this area!! Boasting is evil! In ourselfs!But not in Jesus!! ( 1 Cor 1:29-31)

All through the Word of God we see so many people effected in the same way by Jesus,but there circumstances were all different! No matter where you presently are in Christ Jesus you can be effected by Christ Jesus!! You are not put aside!! You have not been forgotten!!

But brother Mark I was so strong a while ago and now I feel like I am so far away from the Lord! We are as far from the Lord as we stand away from him! Jesus Christ comes to each one of us differently but yet the same! When Jesus touches us,we all react the same. However where he chooses to touch us at,may be very different from another he has touched.

How you came to know the way, is different from how I came to know the Way! Can all of us be hands? or legs, or arms?? Even as there are varieties of gifts from our Lord so also are the parts different.( 1 Cor 12:6-11) Another words unity in diversity!! ( 1 Cor 12:13-18!!) Please do read on from here as well!

The purpose of the Body of Christ is not to be cut off from it!!But rather to become a part of the body! Many cut themselves off,by there judgement of one another. Still others cut themselves off because there faith lacks to themselves so much,they place there feeling above the truth. Please do not do this! Truth is what sets us free! And the truth is this!! Jesus will meet you, anywhere you need him!! Just NEED HIM!!

Don't you enjoy being needed?? Well Jesus does to! The more we have need of him,the fuller our life becomes in HIM!! That is the idea to reading his Word daily,to encourage another,yes to build up the Body of Christ, right here!! Right Now! So please do consider this,the next time doubt comes knocking at your door. It will always knock!! Just you do not open the door to it is all!! Let Jesus answer the door instead!! amen! May this build you up,even as you all have built up this Body of Christ, by STAYING IN!!! CHRIST JESUS!!! Not in ourselfs with out him!! because we always NEED Jesus!! amen!

And not only that, we need to follow what Jesus represents, which is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
The body of Christ are all who follow the teachings of Jesus.
There is no doubt that Jesus is the Way, my only doubt is whether or not I can follow that Way, and live up to his teachings, which is the truth.
I'm working on it, but I don't know if I am doing so well.
But I know one thing, I give up.
I've had it, whatever works, works.
Just tell me what works.

Great post! If I have doubts I can take comfort that I am in the best of company, because even John the Baptist (whom Jesus said there is no man greater than) had his doubt!

And whatever part of Jesus' body I am, I am firstly grateful to actually be a part of it - any part - because He is entirely glorious, exquisite and perfect!

Regarding comparing our salvation to, or judging another, we are all royalty in King Jesus, so who is able to brag that he is somehow more royal than another???

What works?? What a great question BrotherEcho!! Thanks also to peace and bac for sharing as well!! Brother Echo3 I will be most honest with you!! I had to learn the hard way!! My hard head did not compute!! LOL I will tell you what is working for me,not has fully worked, for if it fully worked I would not be here! I would be perfect,and I am far from this!! LOL

First we have to decide!! It was told to me as a young child,if something is not working out for you,then you are not working hard enough! So work harder! Not easy to take I know! But as you well know in Jesus we do have to do something!! We cannot sit by and hope.I looked to do this first.Here is what I found out for me. 1. Everyday,yes everyday, read some Word( Bible)

Now how much you read is up to you,but do read!,2. before you do read use the faith you now have,for we all have faith!( rom 12:3!!) Why use this measure, be it large or small?? Here is why! ( hebrews 11:6) So now prayer is also a part of your routine daily!! Again how long you pray depends on how quick you wish to grow. In life my brother we are not measured by what we think, but rather by what we do.

We can think for many hours!! LOL I sure know I did! Make it fun for yourself!! Not a chore! Jesus loves you right where you are now! he cannot love you more,but!!! Your love for him can indeed grow,as we put forth a high effort in learning his ways,rather then just his acts.( james 2:18)

Please do read all of the 2nd chapter when you have time. Next find a good Bible based church,we all have needs,and so do others,I have found out that by helping others we in turn receive much more help from the Lord, then we could have ever thought we would! God will indeed teach us!!( 1john 2:20,and verse 27!) We act on what we believe,and we believe from our actions.

This lesson was taught to me by Holy Spirit,words mean nothing without action to them.I care about you,means nothing to you,unless I show you I care.Which you are seeing here. Why do I care?? because Love cares!! Someone had to do the very same thing to me bro!!

Love does not hold to itself,it always has its hands extended towards each of us! Even as you remain as you are!! Humble!! I know that you are! This is a lesson you learned far sooner then I did!! I again had to learn this the hard way! Hard head again!! LOL BUT!! The fact is this!!

I did learn, and I learned the very same way you are learning!!BY DOING!! example remember our friend Moses!! In exodus he used big words!! The Lord will fight for you!!YEA??? And what did he do after he spoke this?? LOL He learned the very same lesson as we do!! ( Exodus 14:13-15!!) Verse 15 why are you crying out to me?? Do what?? amen brother!! MOVE!!!!! Forward!!

That is just what we are to do in our Lord!! We are not holding anything, we are advancing in the Lord daily!! Those who hold onto what they have, never get to receive even more!! How much more love can we not use?? You get the point! To live for Jesus we must learn how to,then if we have learned this,we act on what we believe Holy Spirit is saying to our lives.

Do not worry what others think!! Others are not you!! Our job is to be that light on a hill!( Matt 5:14-16!!) Your light can shine,because my brother it is not your light!!It is the brightest light possible!! The Light of love,Jesus in you!!! May this both encourage you and help you my brother!!

Many things jumped out at me from your original post Mark and i will probably comment on them later. This portion made me think of a story from Father Thomas Hopko on an Ancient Faith Radio podcast.

A man asks why he needs to repent and seek forgiveness from members of the congregation who he has not offended and Fr. Tom makes precisely your point. We are members of one body and what we do, even in private, affects all members of the body.

Whether we are in church or even if we stay away from church, cut off, we hurt our own body. None of us are islands, Jesus did not set up the church of 'Nothing Else Matters Cept Me and Jesus', he created a body, his church, his bride and every person within that body has an effect on all the other members of that body, either for good or for bad.

I stayed away from church for a few years thinking i could manage on my own and i needed to repent of the time i stole from my fellow Christians as a result. I denied them part of God's resource and made the body weaker by not being part of it.
