Just a quick note Chads permission was recived for this thread

Lately i have felt a calling towards helping animals i have felt God telling me to work toward this and leave my other plans behind. After being filled by the holy spirt i now know this is what God is telling me to do.

After working hard to becoming a health professional this seems very odd for me ,even more so as i have always had a fear of alot of animlas after being attacked by 3 dogs all of which were mistreated and aggressive.

So i have become involved with a charity called the Sunset Appeal.
A small animal welfare group in ireland.
So after much prayer and being filed by the holy spirt i have joined their fight.

So i have started a Christmas fundraiser. This is for food and shelter more than anything else.
They need alot of food. As with every Christmas people dump their older animals to buy puppies. The numbers double over Christmas and even more so after Christmas. As people begin to realise the puppy they got needs food love and attention these things they are not willing to give so once again they are dumped on the door step of the Sunset appeal if they are lucky. if not they are put in a plastic bag and thrown into the river.

Last week two large bags of puppies were pulled out of a local river near me .
Lucky some were saved others were not so lucky. Once again at the early hours of the morning. The Sunset Appeal sprung into action.
Volunters end up homing these dogs in their own homes. Some of them have up too six -seven dogs in their homes.

Last week i took a dog from them. A small dog who is a mental reck.
Only last night i spent ages trying to calm her after my partner tried to pick her up. As it was a man who beat her so badly and left her to rot in a damp garden shed she no longer trusts any man. It pains me so much when i see the fear in her tiny shaking body. She will take alot of work and love to try build her up again. But now thanks to the Sunset Appeal she has my family who will ensure this never happens to her again.

I ask the wonderfull people on this site to help us in prayer.
Your prayers will help us fight this ongoing battle and win

I thank you for reading this and thank Jesus for bringing me here so i can work towards providing all the animals driven mad by abuse and hunger freedom.
God bless xxxxx

Late last night I was reading a family magazine and the Lord seemed to be telling me to post something. Here it is:

Tips for Adopting a Pet

If you're thinking of adding to your family, here are seven tips to help you prepare for the responsibility of owning a pet.
1. Make sure the whole family agrees on the type of pet.
2. Know about breeds. Different breeds of dogs and cats have different
personalities. Make the best decision for your family based on the ages
and preferences of your family members.
3. Make sure the pet fits your lifestyle. A large, hyperactive dog may not do
well indoors. Think about this before you're face to face with the
precious puppies at the adoption site.
4. Talk about the changes that will take place after adopting a pet. There
will be new chores and adventures. Make sure you're all ready to have
fun with your pet and contribute in the work.
5. Have supplies, food, and toys before you bring the pet home. This will
reinforce the seriousness of your commitment to your kids.
6. If the pet is for your child, it's unrealistic to expect him or her to do all the
work alone. You will want to supervise and help your child learn to handle
the pet properly.
7. Divide the daily chores of caring for the pet. Decide who will do what.
This is a great way to get everyone involved in the pet's care--and to
make the pet feel fully part of the family.

Tips adapted from The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

In my recent journal post you can see that my family adopted a stray kitten that was starving. I haven't been too happy about it. We already have 2 dogs and a cat. But mounty has pointed out to me that the kitten probably would have starved and died in misery if we hadn't picked it up and taken it home. We saw him on the street as we were leaving our church on Sunday. We've had him 6 days now. He is not potty trained. But he is very cute and my hubby and kids get and give a lot of love to him.
