i have a question...well first i hope you read my story about waht happened last night...my husband and i accepted jesus into our lives...but now today things feel the same as before. i dont feel different and im not acting different? what am i supposed to do? How do I know I havent just been brainwashed into this? I read what i wrote yesterday and I have so many doubts...what if i was scared into beleiving something that maybe isnt..i dont know...what does this all mean...am I still a christian?

Well this is so wonderful! That you have made the life changing decision to accepting Christ. Krista, the very first thing you learn about the Christian walk is that you cannot go by feelings. If you have repented of your sins and given yourself over to Christ then the Spirit of God has rebirth your old spirit which was dead in sin and now you are a new creature in Christ Jesus.

You will eventually feel differently as you study the word and pray and obey what it says. As you draw near to the Lord I assure you that He will draw near to you.

Instead of rehearsing your doubts, just keep reminding yourself and praying to the Lord that the Word says he will never forsake you and you believe that and thank him for being with you and in you. .

YOu are at the very beginning of a life time which will end in heaven.

Hey Nicolek.. it wont come to you all just with a click of a finger i felt the same not much was goign on in my life the way i have understood it is. if you accept Jesus into your life he is there forever and you are always a Christian untill you comit the Unforgivable Sin i think thats how it works and i dont htink you have done it just because you have doubts about GHod i mean we all question how he works and things like that all you need to do for the moment. find a church go to it and be reading your bible and pray everyonce in a while i mean everyday woudl be AWESOME but yeah... i think the good place to start in the Bible for new Christians is.

hmm..well yeah i read ur story.. and i think its great...!!!oka ythat was the 2nd time i said that!!!
hmm...u know what!!!im a christian since i was 8 and renewed my dession when i was 13!!and hey i dont feel any different then i did before i made my dession...but i mean okay im not the best example on being a christian cause belive me im not good at it atall....
i might be nice and everything and try really hard to act like jesus....but i never make it..but im still hanging in there..and i know that if u try long enough you will make it..
u might not see the changes in ur life today or the next day...but if u look back in ur past someday u will see the changes and u will mybe feel different.....

Krista . You are right in fearing that you are not saved ! When the day of the Lord comes [ be it the rapture , or your imminent death ] you will stand before God and he will look for one thing first . Is your name written in the Lambs Book Of Life ! You should fear your name not being there .

All whose names are not in there [ by accepting Jesus Christ as their Saviour ] will be cast into the eternal fires of hell for ever and ever ! The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom ! Rejoice in your salvation and continue to know that without Jesus Christ , fear will be the least of your worries . :boy_hug: Mike

Its a marathon not a sprint hang in there congratulations. I would start by finding a church and praying everyday and reading your bible. I think and I don't now how biblicay it is but I don't know if the human mind could take all the gifts the lord has planed for us all at once. Its a great adventure and it get better every day. Doubt is something satan wants you to do to keep you from fellowship with jesus

You have taken your first step into a life of happiness and grace.

Your first steps are baby steps in the faith give yourself a chance to grow up into Christ. A relationship takes time to grow, just remember that God will never forsake you and He will always be with you. Keep looking forward keeping Jesus as your focus and take your new life one step at a time.

You need to receive the Holy Spirit and you will speak in tongues and then you will feel different and you will belong to Christ.

Nicolek, the night you excepted Jesus it was the Holy Spirit that moved you. Only the holy Spirit can move you to except Jesus. Just continue to walk by faith and not your feelings. Build a relationship with Jesus and you will grow in faith.

Can you show me the scripture that says that if you accept Jesus, then you have the Holy Spirit ?

Let me ask you a question, by what spirit would move anyone to except Jesus Christ as thier personal savior? The spirit of the flesh, the spirit of satan, or the Holy Spirit. By what spirit moved the people to except Jesus at Pentecost? If we are caranal and God is spiritual what other spirit could possibly move one which is carnal to except that which is spiritual?

Stay in the word of our Lord and pray to Him often...He loves to hear from you and as you grow you will grow to love Him more and as this happens you will feel a joy and peace you have never known before.

as far as speaking in tongues...I can tell you I am a saved blood bought daughter of our Lord and am indeed filled with the Holy Spirit and yet have not ever spoken in tongues.. does this mean I am not saved nope it sure doesn't...what it means is Jesus bestows different gifts to everyone of us.

Jesus loves you very much and is sooooo happy you have taken Him as Lord and Savior. I will be praying for you as you walk with our Lord Jesus.

Lioncub you asked for scripture affirming what I said in my last post. After praying and looking in my bible I have found a few that I was led to by our Lord through the Holy Spirit.

1corinthians12:1-11 Now concerning spiritual gifts brethren, I do no want you to be ignorant; You know that you were Gentiles carried away to these dumb idols, however you
were led. Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed and noone can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.
There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all; for one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy to another discerning of the spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each on indiviually as He wills.

In the above verses we see that a person truely speaking by the Holy Spirit will never curse Jesus; by the same token noone can genuinely proclaim the Lordship of Christ without enabling of the Holy Spirit. (from the footnotes of my King James New Faith Partner Study Bible).

There is one Lord, one God and One Holy Spirit and together they make the GodHead or Trinity and God through the Holy Spirit as seen in the above verses bestows on each believer the gifts He sees fit and there is a list given of all the gifts including that of tongues...it was one of the many gifts given to us...we are all members of the body of Jesus Christ and each member though given different gifts work together to make the whole body of Jesus work...Just as it takes many parts of the human body to make it work as a whole so it takes many believers and the many gifts given by God through the Holy Spirit to make the Body of Christ work.

Acts5:3-4 But Peter said, Ananias why has satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit
and keep part of the price of land for yourself? while it remained was it not your own? And after it was sold was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? Have you not lied to men but to God?

in these verses we see that lieing to the Holy Spirit is also lieing to our God and why is this..because the Holy Spirit was given to us from our Lord and is part of Him...so lie to the Holy Ghost you lie to God Himself.

Matt.28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them int he name of the Father, And of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
This verse makes it pretty clear that God is one in three persons...He is God the Father, He is our Lord Jesus and He is the Holy Spirit...so when we accept Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior we accept the Holy Spirit and His conviction which leads to our Lord Jesus because why He is of God Himself.

I've used this before and will do so again...Father, Son and Holy Spirit are three in one you can't have one without the other just as you can't have an egg without the shell, yolk, and white...three seperate things but they come together to make a whole egg...just as the Father God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are three different parts of God but come together to make a whole which is called "The God head or Trinity".

Hi Nicolek, Getting back to your original question, "I don't feel any different after accepting Jesus Christ into my heart" First Halleluiah! It's AWESOME seeing a newborn in Christ Jesus! Tonnes of people come to faith in Christ everyday, so your part of a pretty cool crew, enjoy and embrace your faith, it's going to help you daily in life as you start to walk in Christ. These are the things that helped me when I first became a Christian, and help me each and everyday till eternity: - Jesus died on the cross for a reason. It's a God reason, not a man reason. He died as a sacrifice to allow his "blood" to cover the sins of the world, for all time. So... Remember, all your Sins are forgiven, Sins in your past, Sins in your future, Sins that you are doing right now. They ALL are forgive. Now we greave the Holy Spirit (makes us feel bad) when we sin. Just stand up, say sorry and accept that you are forgiven. You were forgive anyways when you sinned, just accept our forgiveness and walk in newness of life. Don't try to take away the sacrifice of Christ on the cross and allow yourself to say "well, my sins are only forgiven after I have confessed my sins and ask for forgiveness". NO, your sins were already forgiven, you just accept that. Don't downgrade Christ sacrifice. This in general is one of the major differences between the Catholic church and Protestant churches. - Ask the Holy Spirit into your Life. Just sit down in prayer and ask the Holy Spirit to hang out with you You will like it. - Turn on some Christian music, and start to embrace enjoying being saved. Stuff will start to happen in the Heavenly Relm, you will start to have a spiritual life and be led by the spirit. It's normal, you will recognize it, and you will be becoming a Newborn. Negative stuff will happen as well, but at least now you will recognize it. Welcome to your new life in Christ, you will quite quickly become a part of the Body or Christ. Welcome! and Bless You

When you accepted Jesus , God gave you the Holy spirit to help you through life.



2 Corinthians 1:21-22

22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

I recommend that you read the book of John in the bile to get to know Jesus better.
