Help !

hey all ! .
1 thing i struggle to grasp, struggle with a lot to be honest.
how do i kno that christianity is the 1 true religion.
i meen, how do muslims know that islam is,
and how do other religions know that thers is right.

to be honest the one think that basicly made me a christian is i was brought up as one.

if i was brought up as a muslim i would think that islam it the true religion.

so the question...:

how do i know that christianity is genuine. how do i know that any other religion is the right one.
please help !

Hello Timnorman,

True there is a lot of "religion" out there. Even "Christians" can play in that game of religion too. In Ephesians 4:14 it says: Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.

Christianity is genuine in that there is a fellowship / friendship with our Lord God. It comes from the heart. He asks nothing from us but to love Him. It is not by works, or by manipulation, or by fear that we come to Christ but by a genuine love and true sacrifice. What other "god" would sacrifice his own son for our sins so that we may fellowship with him? Jesus did that for us on the cross. What deeper love is that?

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins - 1 John: 9-10

Timnorman, if you have any doubts at all, ask Jesus for the truth and believe me you won't be disappointed. God bless you my dear friend.

I believe that the test of a true religion is the Law of Love. Our God draws us to him with love. He dosen't force us with the sword as others do. He wants us to come to him because we want to. No other religion does that. If you ask and truly seek, the Holy Spirit will witness to you in your heart. Satan wants to force humans to conform, this is not the way of Jesus. His way is the way of love and truth.

Muhammad, the prophet of the Muslims didn't even know if he was going to heaven. Somewhere in the Quran(sp), he basically said that no one could be sure if they were going to heaven. As he lay on the lap of one of his many wives and declared the use of the sword to spread Islam, he was dieing. He died there in her lap. In relative comfort, surrounded by his many wives and concubine. While he didn't even know if he was rite. He didn't know if he would go to heaven.

Our Lord, on the other hand, suffered greatly at the hands of the Romans and Jews, and died nailed to a cross. He was spat upon, made fun of, beaten, stabbed, and laughed at, all for you and I. Because He loves us! And unlike His Muslim counterpart, He had the utmost confidence that He would be in heaven. So much so, that He even garuanteed one of the two other men being crucified along with Him, that he would see Him in heaven that day!

Many, many religions of the world try to disquise their hatred for Jesus in the clothes of "being a good person". Do not be fooled. Satan is the father of lies and he will come, not with red firey eyes and a forked toung with horns comeing from his head as hollywood would have you believe. He will come as an angel of light...another lie, for that's all he knows...and decive the masses. He will come in the name of peace and will provide it for a few years, only to show his true colors after the world has completely rejected Jesus. The only way to know the truth is to compare it with the word, and let the Holy Spirit reveal it to us.

I'll be praying that in your reading of the word of God, the Spirit will show you all truth and light your path.

Tim: Great question! I think some ppl are afraid to even ask this question, though it can be in our minds. God wants us to be firmly established on why we know what we know. READ THIS: 1 Peter 3:8-15 (Be ready to give an answer for the hope on which we believe)

The reason I know that there's only one way to heaven is Romans 10: 9,10. I've grown up in a Christian home as well. But now that I've become older, I know that Jesus is the only way to Heaven! Other people are deceived to think there are MANY ways to God! But think about this Tim: Christianity is the only "religion" where you don't WORK YOUR SALVATION! It's a GIFT! Muslims believe they have to EARN their way to heaven. It makes them feel good, b/c they're working it up. That's deception, however. Only ONE could save US! It's by FAITH I receive the gift. It bares witness in my heart that it's REAL! That Jesus is real. Salvation is real.

It is difficult though, to tell someone, who their whole life have been told that they must WORK their way to heaven, that it is FREE. They most likely won't believe you! God produces LOVE, religion (pertaining to man-made laws, not God's ways.) produces: hate, torment, condemnation, guilt.

God produces the fruits of the spirit: LOVE JOY PEACE PATIENCe. He IS all of these things. That's why God says that it is his GOODNESS that leads man to repentance. How much more are you willing to BELIEVE in something when LOVE is wrapped in it? EASILY HUH? That's what the GOSPEL is: GOOD NEWS of HOPE, LOVE, PEACE.

RELIGION itself is dead, empty, never fulfilled. You're always having to WORK WORK WORK to say look GOD I did this today, do you love me now? But God's saying, why are you doing all that, I LOVE YOU NOW!

What's sad, is that even us "CHRISTIANS" still have the WORKS mentality and it's by allowing God to help us shovel through it all to really SEE GOD, and not MAN'S "RULES" to GET TO GOD.

I hope that this finds you comforted and more at peace. Spend time reading 1 JOHN chapters 3-5. You'll be able to see a bit more of what I mean

Also every other religion is based on human works (Islam is no exception). Thank God he didn't leave it up to us to get into heaven. Thank you Christ Jesus.
