she's had a huge crush on him since 3rd grade. she was 14 and he was 16.
come on! hurry up! i gotta talk to my parents... she just could't wait.
finally the bell rang. Bailey grabed all her stuff and hurried down the hall and out the doors and into her bus. After 10 minutes of riding in the noisy bus it was her stop. She got her bag full of books and homework walked past her bus driver. but as soon as she was on her drivway she ran as fast as she could. When she got in side it was quiet...really quiet. "anyone home? Mom,dad Nick?"
Nick was her older brother. He was 16. He was in the same class as Nick.
she walked to the living room. no one there. then she went to the kitchen. no one there either. "Great. All that running for nothing."
then she heard someone at the back door. maybe it's mom or dad!
So she ran to the back door. disappointment rained on her.
It was only her brother.
"hey Bails."
"Hey Nick..."
"Hey whats wrong? You sound disappointed."
"sorry but I am. When i heard the door I thought it was mom or dad."
"Oh. Why do want to see them so bad for?"
"I really need to talk to them about camp."
"Oh I see. And i know why. Your Cody's gonna be there." He said with a grin.
"Ugh. u always gotta think everything I do is something to do with Cody."
She knew the truth. She couldn't fool her self. Everything she did did have something to do with Cody.
"Thats cause it's true. You know I wouldn't believe something if it weren't true."
"Ugh..."
"But anyway mom and dad said they were goin on a date tonight. Remember?"
Then it hit her. They did say they would be gone for tonight.
ugh....can't believe i forgot.
"Oh yea...Can believe i did all that running for nothing."
"Running?"
"Yeah...As soon as the bell rang I got my stuff and ran to my bus."
"Right. All to see if you could go to camp with Cody." There that grin was again.
"Ugh...i'm goin to room."
With that she turnned around and went down the hall to the stairs and walked up the stairs.
Chapter Two
Late that night around 12:00 Bailey finally heard her parents car outside. She'd been sitting at her small desk in her room doing her homework. And thinking about Cody sometimes.
She stood up and went to her door at the same time her dad and her mom opened the door.
"Hey sweetie" Her mom said with a sweet smile Bailey had always loved.
"Hey mom. Hey dad." She smiled glad they were finally home so they could talk.
"Hey honey. Why are you up so late? You know you got school in the morning."
"yes i know dad but i was doing my homework. Plus i need to talk to you about going to camp. I need permission to go from you guys. And it's do tomorrow."
"Oh well. How long is this camp?" Her dad said.
"It's six days. starts Monday and ends Saturday. Please? I really wanna go. Plus I've never really been camping. Please?"
Her dad looked her mom. Her mom gave him the go ahead smile. Then her dad turned back to her.
He smiled "I guess..."
"Oh thank you daddy! i can't wait!" She smiled so big it hurt her cheeks. She went and hugged her parent's.
"We love you honey." Her mom said we she hugged her.
"I'll go get the permission slip."

It was a week later. The morning she left for camp.
"I'll miss you so much sweetie." Her mom said as she hugged Bailey.
"I'll miss you too mom." she said with a smile.
Then she heard the bus pull up. so she quickly hugged her dad and her brother and told them bye.
Then she ran out of the house and down to the bus.
When she stepped up the stairs and was in the bus she scanned the bus to see if Cody was on yet.
Sure enough her eyes went to the 5Th seat back on the left on the widow side he sat. With his blond hair and blue eyes. Before somebody caught her staring at him she walked back two seats behind Cody where no one else was.
After about 15 minutes of sitting there she heard someone come up beside her and sit down. So she turned her head.
She almost gasp she was so excited.
There sat Cody.
"Do you mind if i sit here?" He asked with a smooth voice.
Bailey's jaw almost dropped to the ground.
" Nope." She said with a smile.
"Thanks."
"No problem. Sitting alone isn't really fun." she smiled
"Nope. That's why I thought i should sit with you." There the awsome smile was again...
Come on Bailey. Talk. Your not gonna get anywhere in less you talk.
"You excited?" He said breaking the silence.
"Yea. I've always wanted to go camping. I've never been before."
"Really? Maybe I could teach you how to build a fire."
"That'd be great. I need all the help i can get." She said with a grin.
"yeah. it's real hard at first. But i think you'll get the hang of real fast."
" I hope so."
~@~
Cody thought it was actually kinda nice talk with Bailey. She was more mature than other people her age.
"How old did you say you were?"
She looked a little embarrassed.
" 14." She finally said.
"Cool." He said with a little smile.
"Not really."
"Whats not cool about it? You don't have as much peer pressure."
"Yeah we do. At least this year we do. I hate it."
" Really? We didn't have too much when i was in your grade."
"Yeah but a lots changed I guess."
"Yeah."
About an hour away from the camp Bailey fell asleep.
Her head was against the cold hard window.
It couldn't hurt to just put her head on my shoulder...I bet it's hard on the window...
So Cody carefully moved her head to where it was on his shoulder. There was a piece of hair on her face.
He looked at her sleeping form for a second.
Then he carefully brushed it away with his finger tips.
He loved the color of her hair. It was Brown with some natural blond in it. It looked wonderful.
But he loved her eyes even more. They were the most beautiful shade of blue. He couldn't believe how beautiful she was to him.
Then he finally caught himself thinkinf of her.
What are you thinking? Your 16 and she's only 14. I just can't get over...ugh...nothin could come of this.
He was almost for sure of it.
Chapter Three
When Bailey woke up she was kinda confused. She new the window wasn't this comfortable. She opened her eyes and was farther away from the window. That could only mean one thing...She was on Cody's shoulder!
She sat up and rubbed her eyes.
"Hey." He said with a smile."Your finally awake."
She kinda grinned. "Yea. Sorry I was on your shoulder."
He grinned. "It's ok. I...I put your head on my shoulder. I knew the window was hard and cold. So I thought it'd be better on my shoulder." He smiled.
He put her head on his shoulder? This had to be a dream. Cause it surely felt like it.
She smiled. "Thanks."
She didn't know what to say. She's always dreamed of this happening but...She never thought that it would really happen.
"No problem."
" How long are we anyway from the camp?"
"The bus driver said about fifteen minutes."
"Oh."
She didn't want to be there yet...She was having fun just sitting beside Cody talking.
"So..." He said breaking the silence. "What dorm are you in?"
"I'm in...dorm number 13."
"Cool. I'm in 15."
It was about fifteen minutes later and they were getting their stuff and stepping out of the bus they've been in for two hours.
Cody lightly touched her shoulder.
" See ya around. Hey...why don't we sit next to each other at lunch today? If you want to that is."
She couldn't believe it! He was wanting to sit next to her at lunch!
"That would be cool." she said with a smile
"Ok cool. See ya at lunch." He said walking away.
"see ya."
When she turned around and headed for her dorm she could help but smile.
When she got to her dorm she was only the fifth one in there and she got a bunk on the bottom. She was always worry that she'd have to get a top bunk. Cause she was scared she would fall off. Cause she can be clumsy.
Finally about five minutes later she had her bunk made and had her suit case full of clothes under her bunk.
Someone came up behind her and touched her shoulder. It scared her so she jumped back.
Then she seen it was just her best friend Jacie.
"Hey.Sorry i scared you."
"Oh hey Jacie."She said with a smile.
She grinned " I seen you and Cody together."
Bailey kinda giggled. "Yeah."
"So? What did he say? Tell me everything."
"Well...I fell asleep in the bus and i woke up and i was on his shoulder!"
She gasped. "No way!"
"Yeah!"
They giggled together.
"And he said he wanted to have lunch with me today!"
"Really? That's awesome!"
"Yeah! I so can't wait."
Chapter Four
Cody couldn't believe he was doing this. He didn't want to lead her on. And He wasn't trying to. At all. But He couldn't help it. It just popped out of his mouth before he could stop the words. But for some odd reason he felt glad he did. Maybe.Just maybe God had something planed for them. What am I thinking Lord? Do You have something planed for me and Bailey or is she here just to be my friend?
Cody sat on his bunk. He got the bottom bunk.
Cody didn't hear a response but he felt like it was ok. after all it was just sitting together at lunch. How could that hurt anything?
He heard one of the supervisors say it was to to go to lunch.
Wow. It's already lunch time?
Then he looked at his cell phone. Then he realized he'd been sitting there thinking for almost half an hour.
God don't let me do anything You don't want me doing.
Then he heard a voice though it wasn't loud. It felt more like peace than anything.
Son, I am with you.
Thank You Lord. It's always nice to hear Your voice.
Then he realized he was the only one left in the dorm. So he finally got up and walked out of the dorm.
When he was outside he looked over and seen Bailey.
She was with another girl. He figured it was one of her friends.
Then he noticed she seen him. She turned her head back to her friend and they whispered something. finally Bailey stoped walking and wait for Cody to catch up and for her friend to get farther.
"Hey." She said
"Hey." He smiled. "Aren't you kinda late?"
She giggled. "So are you."
"yeah well...i was just talk with God." He smiled.
He looked kinda surprised. "Oh. That's a better reason than I have."
He smiled again. He couldn't help but smile around her.
"whats your reason?"
"Me and Jacie were talking."
"Jacie? That girl that walked out of the dorm with you?"
"yeah. I've only known her for a year. But she's one of my best friends."
He smiled. "Cool."
"Do you know what we're having for lunch?" She said with a looked that said she didn't like what they were going to have.
"Nope. But I'm guessing by the look on your face you don't like it."
"We're having pizza. Eww it's just nasty."
He looked at her kinda funny with a smile.
"You don't like pizza?"
"Nope. Don't see how people eat it."
"Well...We start with opening our mouth..."
She giggled.
"You are the first person I've ever met that doesn't like pizza." He smiled. Why can't I stop smiling?
She smiled back. "Nope."
When they got to the lunch room there was already a ton of people there.
"Oh great. How are we gonna find a seat?" She said.
"Hey how about I get us something to eat and you find us a seat?"
"Are you sure? I can get something for my self..."
"Nah it's fine. Just go find us a spot."
"Ok..." With that she walked off.
When he was done getting their food he searched for her. Finally he spotted her and she waved
Then he walked to where she was.
"Here ya go. I got ya a apple and some chips.Sorry there wasn't anything else besides pizza."
"It's ok. I'm not that hungry anyway."
Then he sat down next to her. Then he noticed his heart was beating faster. When he was other dates his heart didn't really beat faster.
"So..."She said breaking the silence. "When are you gonna teach me how to build a fire?"
"Whenever you want."
"Hm...How about tonight? If the supervisors let us that is..."
"That sounds purfect. I know one of the supervisors. Known him for about three years. So I think we can." He smiled.
"Can't wait." She smiled.
God is this ok?
Son,I know the plans I have for you.
Then suddenly he felt peace he didn't understand.
Chapter Five
She loved being with Cody. She hasn't really hung out with him but she loves it. She was eating her apple talking to Cody about the movies they wanted to see.
"Hey. Maybe we can go see a movie some time." He said with that smile she just loved.
"That would be fun." She smiled back.
She kinda bowed her head and close her eyes.
Jesus Thank You. But...Is this alright? What if we start going out...Would that be ok?
Daughter,I am with you.
Thank You Jesus. I need to her You.
"Hey whats wrong?" Cody said. making her lift her head up.
"Oh nothing. Just...Talking with God." She smiled.
"Oh ok. Sorry."
"Oh it's ok. I was done anyway. Plus...It's not like I can't go to Him anytime." She smiled again
Then he just kinda looked at her with a smile.
Whats he doing...is there something on my face?
"What?"
"Nothing. Just glad you have faith." He smiled.
She smiled back. "Yeah. I'm glad you have faith to.Not very many teens these days have faith."
"Yeah I know. It's sad." He gave a sad smile.
"Yeah."
Then they heard one of the supervisors say lunch was over.
"Well...Time for horseback riding." She said.
"Time for archery for me."
They Smiled at each other.
"See ya at...7:30 tonight?" He asked.
"Sounds good to me." She smiled.
Chapter Six
[
It was almost time for Bailey to go back to her cabin. She had been riding a horse for almost an hour straight. But she didn't mind. She loves horse's. She loves animals for that matter. Then she heard her instructor talk.
"Ok guys. It's almost time to go. Get off your horse's and put their lead rope on. Then when you get back to their stall put their cross ties on. Go ahead and go when your done."
Very carefully Bailey got of her horse and walked back to her horse's stall.
She really liked the horse they assigned her to. He was fast but then again he was lazy. It was the perfect horse for her.
Finally she got to her stall and put the cross ties on the horse. Then she took the lead rope off
There. Now she could go walk and around and wait till it was 7:30.
Shs couldn't help think of him all the time. Then he smiled when they talked. They way he was polite. The way he looked.
Jesus don't let me do anything You don't want me to do.
Just then Garrett walked up. He was a boy the same age as Cody. She'd known him about a year more than Cody.
"Hey." She said.
"Hey. Whats up?"
"Nothing really."
He grinned. "I know that smile. What are you up to?"
"Um...Nothing..." She couldn't help but grinn. She was a horrible at lying.
"Come on. What are you doing? If you don't tell me I'll..."
She giggled. " You'll what? Tickle me to death?"
He laughed. "Yes. That's what I'll do."
It'd been way to long since they talked.
"So why haven't we talked in a while?" She said.
"Hm...I really don't know. Feels good to talk again." He leaned against a tree.
"Yea it does." She smiled.
He smiled back. " So hows the family?"
"Their alright. Hows yours?"
"Their ok. My moms a little under the weather though. It's just a cold though."
"Oh. Well tell her I said I hope she feels better."
"I will."
She looked at her cell phone. 7:20. It was almost time.
" You never told me what you were up to. I'm guessing it's almost time till whatever it is your doing."
"I'm uh...meeting with someone in a bit..."
"Oh." He grinned. " I bet this 'someone' is a guy."
She grinned. "Maybe..."
" Ok. Who is he?"
She sighed. Knowing she had to tell him.
"His name is Cody. Cody Smith." She grinned.
"Oh ok. I know who your talking about now. He's something...Just be careful with him ok?"
She looked at him kinda confused. "Whats that suppose to mean?"
"Just like with any guy. Don't do anything...Your gonna regret later I guess is what I'm trying to say."
"Oh ok. I'll be careful." She smiled.
"I'll be going I guess." About that time Cody walked up.
"Hey Cody." Bailey said with a smile.
"Hey." He smiled back and looked at Garrett. "Hey Garrett."
"Hey. I was just leaving. See ya Bails."
"See ya." She said.
"What were you two doing?" Cody asked.
"We were just talking. We haven't talked in a while. It felt nice. We used to be best friends. I guess we still kinda are."
"Oh well lets go a head and walk."
"Walk where?"
" I figured we could make a fire near the lake side."
She smiled. "Sounds great."
P.s. lol i did use my name...just thought i'd let you know...lol
