Hi, everyone! I am so glad I found this forum.. I always thought of myself as a Christian but now the enemy is trying to steal my belief in our Lord Jesus. I've come to a point where it is hard for me to pray and call out to God. I came here for the words of counsel, advice and conviction to help my unbelief. One more reason for joining this forum is that I'm surrounded by unbelievers at work and I am in desperate need of Christian fellowship.

Hi Gelena welcome to the forums. This quote of yours, simply I'd like to say a few things.

1. Remember what Jesus did on the Cross. Absolutely eternal for you, not to forsake you and make your faith harder but more cemented in His grace and love.
2. Hebrews 13:5 // Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,”

Lamentations 3:22-24
22 The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease,
For His compassions never fail.
23 They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“Therefore I have hope in Him.”

Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,
To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

Jude 1:24-25

Welcome to Talk Jesus @Gelena !
We are so glad that you have found this Christian Community of Believers.
Know that we will pray, cry, laugh, fellowship and grow with you in Jesus Christ.

You say that you've always thought of yourself as a Christian.

My question to you is.

Do you believe in Jesus Christ as your Savior?
That He lived, Died, and Rose again on the third day that you maybe assured that He is the Christ, and has the power to do what He said He would do?

If you have come to the Cross and laid bare your soul, your sins, your everything, so that He now is now not only the beacon of light in the night, but the light of your life. Then you are His!

You might have difficult times in life, but He will not leave you. Ever!

[Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. John 14:17-18

Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.1 John 4:4

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20

You may be surrounded by non-believers but don't look at that as a bad thing! Difficult as that might be. As you grow in the Lord, and in learning of His Word, because that is important. You very well might be the person by which they may come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior as well!

Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly [is] plenteous, but the labourers [are] few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. Matthew 9:37-38

Make time for Him throughout your day Gelena. There are believers who rarely communicate with Him, though they call Him their Savior. Make time in your day, where it is just you and your Savior! You might also include a daily devotional as part of your early morning. This will help as well. You may even end your day this way as well.

I could go on and on, but have said enough and don't want to overwhelm you.

If you are willing you will find that in coming to Talk Jesus, that you have found Brothers in Sisters in Christ Jesus that have come from a variety of backgrounds, and will always share the Love of our Lord Jesus Christ with you.

So...once again Gelena.
I say be welcome!

Dear Chad, thank you for the warm welcome. One of the hardest things for me to overcome is selfishness and egoism. But I hope in Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that God will help my soul get rid of pride.
I have lots of other sins but I feel like pride and all the ugliness that comes out of it is the biggest.

Hello and thank you for welcoming me into the community. The questions you asked me I often, almost daily, ask myself. Do i believe Christ is my Savior? Yes, I sure do because Christ is my only hope for life in eternity. I have no idea what hell looks like but it scares me very very very much. But I don't want to be scared into Heaven. I need the relationship with God which I often feel are almost non-existent partly because I am ashamed of addressing God in my daily prayer.. So i lay my soul before God who created it and paid for it on the Cross to save it from eternal hell and want God to be my Father, guide me and keep me away from sins.

Awesome to know you're a Sister in Christ Jesus @Gelena !

No matter at what point in the path that you are walking in. Understand that you are not alone. That you may be stumbling at times, is something that we all experience. Realize that while so many others do not know Him, you do!

I cannot speak for others, but every now and again, I bring myself back to the foot of the Cross. Like communion it is a reminder of our Lords Sacrifice and our own inability to do it on our own. Anytime, I start believing that I can do it on my own, the Lord steps in to remind me that it's not about "me", "I", "self", but "Father", "Son", "Holy Spirit". We are united in Spirit with the Most High.

Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. 1 John 4:13

At that day ye shall know that I [am] in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. John 14:20

That they all may be one; as thou, Father, [art] in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. John 17:21-23

Too often we, and I do mean we; allow the world the take priority over the things that belong to God. We'll talk more about the last movie we saw, book we read (worldly), things unrelated to Him that we have done during our time off. Yet scurry back when something bad happens in our life, when we somehow feel a separation from Him, that we ourselves have created. Always, with the thought. "What if this time, He won't take me back?".

Know one thing! He will take you back! Why? Remember the Cross? He gave everything for you! He loves you that much, that even though if it were you or I. We very well might not take that person back for some of the same things that you or I have done. But He Will!!!! He is perfect, and will never leave you or forsake you. He is with you always.

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God [is] with thee whithersoever thou goest. Joshua 1:9

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:20

[Let your] conversation [be] without covetousness; [and be] content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Hebrews 13:5

If you need help with this. You're feeling that you can't do it alone. Then go to Him! He has made it possible for you to do this!

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16

There are so many promises that He has given us in His Word the Holy Bible.

You just have to open it and know that it's as if He's written this for you. A way by which you can know Him better, grow more in Him as you spend more time with Him, whether its by meditating upon His word, prayer, singing & worshiping! Even in the service/helping you do for others. You are following His desires for you!

And when the world starts to block you, hold you down, distract you.....you turn to Him in prayer and know that He is there for you! Even in the things that you may have happening in your life right now. These very well may be experiences by which someday in the future, you might be able to help others to find their way!

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose. Romans 8:28

There is always a positive way, as long as you place Jesus Christ first in your life. You know the things that separate you from Him, and maybe stopping them, at least all at once may be very hard. Yet, don't give up. One step at a time. No baby comes out of a mothers womb running. It takes time. A step at a time. So is your walk with Him. One step, then another..until before you know it, you're walking, then running! Just don't figure to run before you learn to walk ;)

I'll be praying for you my Sister Gelena.
Hold strong.
Be faithful.
Know that you are above all else.
Loved

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? [shall] tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:35-39
