Some churches meet on saturday night and then there's bible studies on Wednesdays or Thursdays. You could also watch sermons on youtube but that wont help much if you need church for the community aspect. Still look up Judah Smith on youtube.

Greetings and welcome to the forum,

It can be very hard in this day and age where businesses feel they have to open 7 days a week because other businesses do also, their fear is greater than yours my friend, money is their God.

The Word of God tells us over and over again to 'Fear Not!' Trust in the Lord, lean not on your own understanding, allow Jesus to guide your paths.

The first thing to do is give it all to the Lord in Prayer, in Jesus Name. Pour out your heart my friend, you yearn for fellowship with born-again believers, the Church, the ekklesia. Ask Him if you are in the right job, ask Him if you should look for another job, ask Him to change the hearts of your employers to allow you to have Sundays off, ask Him to guide your heart and mind and let you know. Give it ALL to the Lord in prayer and fear not.

It is natural for you to want to be with the church fellowship you were part of, but also be aware that the Church is born again believers worldwide, the one true church, the ekklesia is saved believers all across the world, together we are the church, the bride of Christ, Jesus is the groom, the head of His Church. This is the church he will be returning to.

So meanwhile my friend it is maybe not co-incidence you have joined 'Talk Jesus', personally I do not believe in co-incidence, it is more likely to be God-incidence my friend. So come on in, peace be with you, enjoy fellowship with saved believers, the devotions, the Bible Studies, join in the conversations and continue in prayer.

Jesus Loves you, we do too.

Bless you.

If you are able, either during lunch break or before/after work, call the congregation you have in mind about having fellowship with on the first day of the week and ask if they meet on other days or evenings?

Keep in touch,

Bless you ....><>

Thank you and GOD Bless you!!

and, Scott, GOD bless you, too!!

trust Him lean on Him for He knows your needs and delights to show Himself to you in all your ways.

My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:

So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.

Hello Scott and welcome to Talk Jesus!!
Glad to have you here Brother in Christ Jesus.

There is always an assortment of ways you can handle this. You've been given a few. Another one, is ask the "job" if your schedule can be changed/adjusted as it pertains to hours on Sunday. Not knowing your hours that you work on Sunday, and when your church has its services might mean either coming in earlier or later. You lose nothing by asking, and in fact Scripture says ask and you shall receive in His Name!

Also, check with the church on the service hours. The church might have more then one service to go to. Some even have evening services for this very reason. Might be a little tougher for you on these days physically, but Spiritually it will be well worth it!!! Nothing like praising, worshiping, and get filled with His Word no matter the hour of the day or night!!

God bless and I hope it works out for you brother and let us know how it goes!
Also, once again be Welcomed to Talk Jesus this online community of Christian Believers!

Thank you for much!! You're words mean a lot and I can never get enough scripture, I am going to talk to my work and just straight up tell them that I can't work Sundays anymore because my job at a grocery store is not worth my happiness. Going to church used to be my most favorite thing of the week, getting to sing and praise him, is like nothing else, and I've let this world consume me. But no more, I can hear God calling me back into his loving arms and I know I can have that happiness and that JOY again, but I just have to trust in the lord with all my heart, and not on my own understanding, I have to ask, and it shall be given... Just thank you if you actually read this and thank you so much for responding and please if you can, please keep in touch with me, please encourage me to take leaps of faith, call me out when I'm wrong, be a brother in Christ, because I need fellowship always but now more than ever!! God bless you!!

Dear Scott,
No problem with communicating with you, as I'm sure any of the Brothers or Sisters in Christ Jesus here at Talk Jesus would be willing to do to help you Brother Scott. We are the church and the Body of Christ. Each as important as the next in getting His will done!

I will say that you should work with your job as you are able. Why? Because you are the light to a darkened World brother. They'll be looking at you as an example for how a Christian behaves. Especially when dealing with the non-believer. Always in a loving and caring way! So, that they'll hold nothing against you as an Ambassador of the Kingdom of God that you are!

However, I'm with you in the fact that there is nothing like Praising Him & Worshiping Him in Song and Prayer with like minded believers!!! You can just feel the Holy Spirit moving through the congregation! Alleluia!

Continue to grow in His Word as others have suggested. Also, find time to talk with our Heavenly Father who in Christ Jesus is our Friend and like a friend you make time to keep Him up to date on how you're doing! He truly loves hearing from you Scott.

I'll be praying for you as well as you continue to grow into the Man of God that He wants you to be!

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

I totally hear that, I do work with my job however I can, really it's just the fear inside me, afraid to ask for the time off on Sundays, if I never speak up, they don't know I'm having an issue.. You know what I mean? I struggle with fear of change and just general anxiety, it's retail so Sunday is like their biggest day,, and I just think too much and stop myself from asking, "hey can I come in late on Sundays" it's just something I have to pray on... I do talk to God, whenever I need to, I seek his guidance and always the right thing to do...I just really struggle with self anxiety and self worth, but as I continue to get closer to God, that anxiety is lifted, anyways I'm just talking, but if you read this, thank you so much for your time...
God bless you and I will keep you in my prayers,
Scott

Hello Scott,
Remember it's how you phrase it that is important too! Instead of saying "can I come in late on Sundays", say instead "can I adjust my hours on Sunday so I can go to church". Using the word "late" makes it seem you're doing something that is negative and has you as the sole focal point of this. While using the word "adjust" shows that you are willing to work with them in creating the least amount of inconvenience for everyone!!!

God bless to you as well brother and thanks for the prayers. I believe we can use as many prayers from our Brothers & Sisters that can be sent Heavenward!!!

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

Greetings Scott,

first, may i strongly suggest to you that you listen to what Nick (Christ4Ever) advises you. You won't go too far wrong if you do.

Next, can i assure you that you have nothing to be anxious about as a believer in Christ. As far as it being the busiest day of trading goes, for all you know [and correct me if you know otherwise] the management might be trying to work out a way to accommodate someone else and yet they don't want to or are reluctant to ask you or anyone else to give up some hours. Do you see that?
I am not saying that is the case, but sometimes we can get all worried about something or doing something while God and others are actually wanting someone to do it!

Again, take Nick's advice about how you approach the boss. AND, in the meantime let us pray. It might all unravel itself beautifully in a way not yet imagined!

Jesus is Lord

Bless you Scott ....><>

There are lots of things in this life that we go through Scott, sometimes fear gets in the way, but we shouldn't and must not let it.

Do you know 'Fear Not' comes up 331 times in the KJV Bible, 331 times God says 'Fear Not' Sound like a clear message to us all my friend.

Give God all your concerns, pour out your heart to Him in Faith. He knows your heart my friend and will supply in time in His way.

Allow me to share briefly something I have shared in more detail in the past. When I came through in Faith, after a long battle I can surely say, there was a spiritual battle at home that almost cost me my marriage and my children. I stopped going to the church/fellowship I was part of to try ease matters, but they continued because my faith never dwindled. I prayed before hand, I prayed afterwards, I continued to pray and pour my heart out to God through Jesus. One day, during my working day I went to a house I had not been to before, I surveyed the things I was there for, then headed for the front door. The man of the house came to the front door with me, as I stood outside on the step he said to me, you got problems haven't you, then he said, are you a Christian? I was shocked at first how he know I had troubles, I was surprised when he said are you a Christian, but I said yes. He and his wife invited me back in for a chat, he told me he was a retired Pentecostal minister, and from that day for a couple of years I would call in my lunch break and have fellowship and prayers.

Now I appreciate your situation is totally different my friend, but the key to what happened is my prayers, to God through Jesus were heard, God provided for me to have fellowship and prayers, without my wife and kids knowing, it eased the tensions and although it was a long time before things were better healing had started to take place. The important part here I feel is, God answered prayers, but he doesn't always answer as we thing he will, He provides for our needs according to His riches and Glory in Heaven.

Fear not Scott, God's words not mine, fear not, God hears your prayers, He knows your heart, He loves you my friend, He will provide for your spiritual needs as He knows best. Trust in the Lord, lean not on your own understanding, He will guide your paths, He will provide for your needs, God's speed, God's timing.

Trust my friend and listen to the Lord, fear not.

Jesus loves you, we do too.

Wow, thank you so much for sharing that story with me!! I love to hear stories like that that show how God always Shows up for people. I can honestly tell you that God has shown me many times before that HE IS THERE and he is listening. Today, I've REALLY REALLY been feeling like the holy spirit is working on my heart. I have consciously stopped using swear words, stopped myself when I was about to think/do something not very Christ like, I'm just trying to say that even though I haven't been able to attend church, though my prayers, MAN, GOD IS REALLY WORKING ON Me and I LOVE IT!! At the same time, I feel the spiritual battle happening in my head, GOD PUTTING positive things in my head, and then fear "the devil" steps in and says, Scott are you sure you can handle that right now? It's amazing what prayer does!! I've lived it and have many stories, to share to prove it. Talking to you and others on here, has made such a difference and I can't thank you enough, truly, for taking the time to, stop your day, look at your phone, and message me something so inspiring!! Thank you!! God bless you!! Thank you for everything and I KNOW that EVERYTHING will just fall into place like it always does, when you "fear not"!! I have that exact verse right by my bed so it's the first thing I see when I get up, is "today is a new day," trust in the Lord With ALL of your heart and lean not on MY own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall make your path straight " - this is the day that the LORD has made and I will rejoice in it" it makes such a difference reading that everyday, right when I get up...

I am gonna see how it plays out, keep praying, reading his word and talking to you all!! God bless you!! I'll keep you in my prayers!!!

So true my friend, everything will fall into place, but God's way and God's timing. We, in the flesh, get impatient, we get frustrated, God knows our strengths and thank God He knows our weaknesses.

Trust in the Lord always and fear not.

We are to love one another, we are to share one another's burdens, we are to encourage one another in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV)
10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.'

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (NKJV)
16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,
18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Do not lose heart in anything, Trust in the Lord always and fear not.

Bless you
