Holy Spirit inspired books

Can anyone recommend any Holy Spirit inspired books for me to read to help me in my walk? I admit that i've drifted away lately and i've turned back to my bible but i didn't know where to start. I read the story of Gideon and found it interesting but it'd be great to have something else to read - either to help me study the bible or help me in my walk.

Also, i'm quite confused at the moment by the negative news about a lot of Christian authors/pastors and evangelists that there is on the internet. This makes me wary of opening some books up because of deception. Any recommendations will be gratefully and prayerfully received.

I would stick with reading the Bible as it is God inspired. Living and active and sharper than a double edged sword. Heb.4.12

Read acts. It is a good book to read. Also the gospels.

I also like reading the Psalms.

Ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand the Bible when you read it and bring it alive for you too.

It is by far the best book to read.

Thanks LLJ for encouraging me to persevere - i just get daunted by the sheer size of it. I almost wish i could just buy each book within the Bible individually - actually maybe that's not a bad idea ...?

Thanks Chad, I've enjoyed listening to Charles Stanley on tv, but i've yet to find out about the others although i've heard of a few of them.
