How do I accept Jesus as my Savior?

Not open for further replies.
To do what he says to get saved, reconciled to God.
Colossians 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

1 Timothy 1:14 And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
16 Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

God does justify the ungodly when they believe in Him.

Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

If you had any common knowledge, you would know that what I say is not circular.
You said: 'You are illogical'.

Instead of replying to: 'In Mathew18:6 Jesus said, "these little ones who believe in me". You are confusing between babies believing in Jesus & being further taught about Jesus.

Simply because babies are taught as they grow up doesn't mean they don't believe in Jesus from birth. Believe what Jesus said rather than refute Jesus'.

So you are begging the question. Learn what begging the question means.

Remember Adam's sin by how all mankind inherited that sin? The sin of hearkening unto the woman's word and not God's word, thus not believing in God and His word is the knowledge of good and evil which was the cause of the fall?
Where did it say Adam did not believe God's Word?
You are trying to change God's Word to support your word.
The scriptures say Adam knew and broke a command from God.
Adam did not obey God.
Which is proof we HAVE TO OBEY.

Romans 5:14 Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who is a pattern of the one to come.

So that is how sinners are saved by "what have I done" by acknowledging Adam's transgression of not believing God & His words,
Are you kidding? You are that blind to what the scriptures say and what you are doing?
You think they are saved by saying what have I done when God says to repent of your sins.
thus repenting from that inherited sin by believing in Jesus Christ & His words that by believing in Him thus how we are actually obeying Him, is how we are saved.
John the baptizer PREPARED the way for Jesus.
They couldn't have come to Jesus UNLESS THEY REPENTED OF THEIR SINS.
That is SCRIPTURE.

Isaiah 59:20 And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD.
It does please God to save those who believe the reaching of the cross without water baptism and without them needing to repent from all sins first as if overcoming sin in their lives before God felt obliged to save them.
Wow you really going to say something untruthful like that about God?!
Give the scripture that says that or repent right now.
Jesus did not wait for Israel to keep the Old Covenant before dying for them so that He can save all those who believe in Him. Jesus intervened to save Saul from his sins when he was on his way to commit more sins of arresting & killing more Christians. Where was the call to repent before Jesus had revealed Himself to him?
Jesus told Saul plainly that it will be told him what he has to do!

Acts 9:6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

YOU SAY HE HAD TO DO NOTHING BUT BELIEVE!!!
If what you said was true, then Saul would have been saved right then and there for he know believed!!!
You speak against God's Word and I am just trying to help you!

And when Ananias was sent, he did not give the test or challenge to ease his own mind by saying to Saul to repent of arresting and executing Christians before laying hands on him for him to be healed and to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Saul went to a man named JUDAS for those three days.

What was Saul's, now Paul's "What have I done?" sin? Not believing in Jesus Christ & His words to us. How did he repent? By believing in Jesus Christ & His words to us.
HE WASN'T SAVED WHEN HE BELIEVED.
You really want to go against God to hang onto your false beliefs?
You really want to keep doing that after you have been shown?
Saul SAYS he was a VIOLENT MAN and that he tried to DESTROY the church, and that he had MEN AND WOMEN DRAGGED OUT OF THEIR HOMES and that he AGREED TO THEIR DEATHS.
Since saved, he looked to Jesus Christ daily to lay aside every weight & sin
Give the exact scripture that says that exact thing you keep saying.

in running that race for the imperishable crown as his confidence is in Christ Jesus to finish His work in him to His glory as the crown(s) Paul shall receive are His crowning achievements in him for why no flesh shall glory in His Presence.
How will you stand before God when you realize you went against him and tried to destroy His church and how to be saved and didn't repent of it?

You have to die on that cross to sins with Jesus.

Romans 6:6 We know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body of sin might be rendered powerless, that we should no longer be slaves to sin.

Colossians 3:3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

Read this scripture:

John 3:3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”
God does justify the ungodly when they believe in Him.
You keep going against God who says to OBEY, who says faith alone is DEAD and CANNOT save anyone.
Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
The old law PURIFICATION works USED TO JUSTIFY the people, but now we only have to have faith that Jesus' blood purifies us AFTER WE REPENT OF OUR SINS.

You said: 'You are illogical'.

Instead of replying to:
I have replied to that scripture and more than once!
'In Mathew18:6 Jesus said, "these little ones who believe in me". You are confusing between babies believing in Jesus & being further taught about Jesus.
I gave you scriptures that say we HAVE TO TEACH OUR CHILDREN.
Simply because babies are taught as they grow up doesn't mean they don't believe in Jesus from birth. Believe what Jesus said rather than refute Jesus'.
That IS ILLOGICAL what you say.
If they believe in Jesus when they are born why would they need to be taught!
So you are begging the question. Learn what begging the question means.
You are the one who needs to learn.

King James Bible

God cursed Adam for hearkening unto the woman's word in believing her over God and His words, thus not merely doubting God and His words, but he stopped believing God and His words for him to eat the forbidden fruit.

The knowledge of good and evil.

So how does God provide the way back to Himself for salvation? By believing Jesus Christ & His words for eternal life.
Romans 5:14 Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who is a pattern of the one to come.

How will you stand before God when you realize you went against him and tried to destroy His church and how to be saved and didn't repent of it?
Jesus told Nicodemus how and when one is born again of the Spirit as this was to happen after His ascension which is after His crucifixion for whenever any one believes in Him shall have everlasting life.

John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Notice how Jesus did not emphasize nor stress repenting from all sins first before coming to & believing in Him to be saved? But after we are saved by Him, and with Him in us, He will help us to repent & keep us from all sins daily in following Him. All you need to do is believe Him.

You have to die on that cross to sins with Jesus.

Romans 6:6 We know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body of sin might be rendered powerless, that we should no longer be slaves to sin.

Colossians 3:3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

I believe His commandment to obey is to believe Him as my Good Shepherd that He will deliver me from my sins, and keep me from my sins, and help me to follow Him to bear fruit even in the midst of my storms daily.

If I ask you to do a study on Jesus Christ in what He is doing as our Good Shepherd when we trust Him to be our Good Shepherd & Friend, would you be open to doing a thread on it or would you prefer I start it?

I think it would be better if you start the study so I know you are seeking scripture that tells us what He will do for us saved believers in following Him as His disciples.

Just drop the obey focus on man to do and instead, testify of Him of what He will do as our Good Shepherd which I believe Him to be, and hopefully, you will too by Him proving it by the scriptures. Tag me to that thread or leave a link in reply to this post.

I have replied to that scripture and more than once!

I gave you scriptures that say we HAVE TO TEACH OUR CHILDREN.

That IS ILLOGICAL what you say.
If they believe in Jesus when they are born why would they need to be taught!

You are the one who needs to learn.
First you refute Jesus who said 'these little ones believe in Me'.

Second you confuse between believing in Jesus & growing in faith in Jesus. Be healed from your ignorance.

God cursed Adam for hearkening unto the woman's word in believing her over God and His words, thus not merely doubting God and His words, but he stopped believing God and His words for him to eat the forbidden fruit.
You make up things that God didn't say.

The knowledge of good and evil.
It is evil to change God's words.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Notice how Jesus did not emphasize nor stress repenting from all sins first before coming to & believing in Him to be saved?
Jesus says repent or perish.
Notice you say the opposite of what Jesus says:

Revelation 9:20 The rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood--idols that cannot see or hear or walk.
21 Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts.

Revelation 16:10 The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was plunged into darkness. People gnawed their tongues in agony because of their sufferings and because of their sores, but nevertheless they still refused to repent of their deeds.11 and cursed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, but they refused to repent of what they had done.

Galatians 5:19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God

But after we are saved by Him, and with Him in us, He will help us to repent & keep us from all sins daily in following Him. All you need to do is believe Him.
No such thing as being saved before you repent.

I have been giving you scriptures all a long about what you have to do to get saved.

@GodB4Us

People came to John the baptizer to be baptized,
they confessed their sins.

Matthew 3:6 and they were being baptized by him in the Jordan River, as they confessed their sins.

John saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducess coming for baptism.

7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for baptism,

John called them vipers because he knew they weren't going to confess and repent of their sins.

he said to them, "You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8"Therefore bear fruit in keeping with repentance;

12 His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire."

That is what you do; you promote people to be as vipers, because you say they don't have to repent of their sins.

Herod Antipas (son of Herod the Great) put John the baptizer into prison because John had preached against the king for taking his brother’s wife. Repenting is about STOP SINNING.

Jesus' disciples baptized people too.

Mark 6:14 King Herod heard about this, for Jesus’ name had become well known. Some were saying, “John the Baptist has been raised from the dead, and that is why miraculous powers are at work in him.”

15 Others said, “He is Elijah.”

And still others claimed, “He is a prophet, like one of the prophets of long ago.”

16 But when Herod heard this, he said, “John, whom I beheaded, has been raised from the dead!”

17 For Herod himself had given orders to have John arrested, and he had him bound and put in prison. He did this because of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, whom he had married. 18 For John had been saying to Herod, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.

Did you read that? John told Herod is was not lawful for him to have his brother's wife.

19 So Herodias nursed a grudge against John and wanted to kill him. But she was not able to, 20 because Herod feared John and protected him, knowing him to be a righteous and holy man. When Herod heard John, he was greatly puzzled; yet he liked to listen to him.

21 Finally the opportune time came. On his birthday Herod gave a banquet for his high officials and military commanders and the leading men of Galilee. 22 When the daughter of Herodias came in and danced, she pleased Herod and his dinner guests.

The king said to the girl, “Ask me for anything you want, and I’ll give it to you.” 23 And he promised her with an oath, “Whatever you ask I will give you, up to half my kingdom.”

24 She went out and said to her mother, “What shall I ask for?”

“The head of John the Baptist,” she answered.

25 At once the girl hurried in to the king with the request: “I want you to give me right now the head of John the Baptist on a platter.”

26 The king was greatly distressed, but because of his oaths and his dinner guests, he did not want to refuse her. 27 So he immediately sent an executioner with orders to bring John’s head. The man went, beheaded John in the prison, 28 and brought back his head on a platter. He presented it to the girl, and she gave it to her mother. 29 On hearing of this, John’s disciples came and took his body and laid it in a tomb.

Luke 3:7 So he began saying to the crowds who were going out to be baptized by him, “You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8 Therefore bear fruits in keeping with repentance,...

...18 So with many other exhortations he preached the gospel to the people. 19 But when Herod the tetrarch was reprimanded by him because of Herodias, his brother’s wife, and because of all the wicked things which Herod had done, 20 Herod also added this to them all: he locked John up in prison.

You want to keep preaching we don't have to know what are sins are and we don't have to repent of them?

First you refute Jesus who said 'these little ones believe in Me'.

Second you confuse between believing in Jesus & growing in faith in Jesus. Be healed from your ignorance.
Hope you are praying for him because only God can cause the increase. I shall pray for him too.
