Hi Cyrienne Welcome to Talk Jesus, I moved your thread to the lounge, I think it's more fitting here.
I am not able to say that those people on the list are not good authors, I have not read their books, there should be some people to guide you. I would say if you pray to God and ask Him to lead you and lead your thoughts whilst reading, you will not be misled.
I have read a portion of one of Joyce Meyers books and received some insight to a topic I didn't have before, since you are a lady I would say that she's a good place to start from.
Let God lead your heart and mind.
God bless

Hi Cyrienne, I have read a couple of Joyce Meyers books, she has a good way of teaching on how to apply the Word of God to our everyday lives. Her material has helped me. John Chapman's 'The Five Love Languages' is another book I have and it is really helpful for Christian living.
Also just recently I have wanted to try some of the classics recommended by other Christians, such as C.S.Lewis, and John Bunyan's 'Pilgrims Progress'. I Also have devotionals and prayer books, such as "My Utmost For His Highest" by Oswald chambers, 'Streams in the Desert' by Mrs. Charles E. Cowman. I don't think any Christian can go wrong in reading some of these.
I found a good website, that lists Christian authors alphabetically, from old to new authors. They show a picture, a short biography, the writers doctrinal beliefs and style of writing and the titles of books they have written.
I hope this might help.
Once you get onto the page, just scroll down a bit and you will find the alphabetical list. Its really informative.
Thank you very very much for this feedback !!! And thank you Calluna for the website =)
I was listening to a Joyce Meyer talk last night and it was great !!! But my overriding concern on what is good teaching and what is not, does not allow me to fully appreciate and enjoy her talks!
Now I am more comfortable to enjoy and learn from her and many others thanks to your website recommendation.
