How moral is it to sell ones soul?

Hi, I was looking on ebay for some antic bibles when I came upon an unusual item. A man is auctioning his soul for $1500.
I know most reasonable people will disbelieve me so here is the link:

[edited by Chad: read the rules, no links without permission]

My questions are:

1) Is such a transaction possible?
2) Does the bible talk about similar cases?
3) Is it a sin?

Thank you for your help.

Regards,

Joseph Smith.

This transaction in not possible, guy has too much time on his hands and is looking for a way to make some money. Rather silly I'd say.

I don`t think such a transaction is possible, and I`m not aware of any scripture that would correlate with this.
As I understand the Word, the only way you can lose your soul, is by choosing to deny Jesus Christ.
The soul returns to the unseen whence it came (Psa.9:17 and Acts 2:27,31).
"For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?" - Mt 16:26
Jesus is the owner and overseer of our souls. Peter 2:25 NIV version "for you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepard and overseer of your souls"
"Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die." Ezekiel 18:4

It is 100% completely impossible, stupid, foolish, greedy, deceiving, immoral, and just plain ol' idiotic.

The person is about as lost as a blind sheep in the amazong jungle :)

Hey Chad we need a real good "LAUGHING" emoticon in here!

It's Either God Will Own You Or The Enemy, choose!

YES, that transaction is possible but only satan will take that person's life for life and death are in the power of the tongue(Prov.18:22).He auctioned himself his soul to be bought and satan is interested in souls to bring to hell with him.though he might be bought by a person but spiritually speaking satan will take him for he does not name whom he wants to bought him. That's why we speak that I belong to God and God is my Father.I am a child of God. Yes it is a sin. Confession is very important like in Romans 10:9,10.If we confess Jesus is Lord we are saved. If you donot confess whom you belong to, satan is quick to grab that person's life or soul. Therefore, confess that God is your God and you are a people of God. God bless us.

thats kinda funny!...freaky but funny. You cant sell your soul for money. reminds me of the scripture what does it matter if a man gain the world but looses his soul. wow. lol. some people do! have too much time on their hands. funny story this kid started IMing a freind of mine and he was VERY weird and he was comin onto her and stuff he gave her his phone # and he wanted her to call him. He would leave her alone so she was gonna post his number on ebay and say that its paris hilton's #.LOL. just to see if anyone would hit. Anywayz.
Keep pressin on brother

Sounds like this person is trying to stir things up.Who would be foolish enough to buy it?Maybe a congregation of 1500 or more can cough up a buck apeice and really tick the person off.lol Shalom Christan

I reckon the first thing to realise is that he is not a christian, and very likely would not know what the soul really is,outside Christ so many weird things happen.

Hi, joesmith240240!

1) Is such a transaction possible?

It is not lawful to sell any part of a human being in America. In America one can donate himself to a cause.

2) Does the Bible talk about similar cases?

Yes.

3) Is it sin?

Yes.

Hi, Joseph!

Adam and Eve transferred their souls to Satan when they ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, Genesis, chapters two and three.

Romans 5:8-18, NKJ

"8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

11 And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

12 Therefore, just as through on man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned-

13 (For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is not law.

14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.

15 But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man's offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.

16 And the gift is not like that which came through one who sinned. For the judgment which came from one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offenses resulted in justification.

17 For if by the one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grance and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)

18 Therefore, as through one man's offense judgement came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man's righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life."

Jesus is the highest bidder for our souls!!

A brother of a friend of mine also put his soul up for auction on ebay. I thought you may be talking about the same guy. My friend is a christian and was devestated by his stupidity. Hosea 6 v 4, My people perish because of lack of knowledge. Obviously, my friends brother is not a christian but how many people will perish because they do not understand the seriousness of some of the things they do. This guy is a twit! but the truth is, that sadly some do sell their souls to the devil. If you ask me, he has given permission for someone to buy his soul, and the sad reality is....his soul is already Satans if he doesnt know Jesus. His stupid joke may not having him laughing one day. Satan will have the last laugh with this bloke unless his soul is saved. There are many out there like him who are perishing because they lack understanding! This is another reason why more of us should be telling people the TRUTH so that they can understand, How much God loves them and how His heart is breaking to know that he will have to spend eternity without so many people. What will it profit any man to gain the whole world and yet loose his soul!!! The bible says God laughs at the wicked Ps 37 but i think He cries for them more.
Jesus is the lover of my soul and i am so glad by His grace, my heart and soul belongs to Him.It cost Jesus a great price, more than $1500 to pay for my debt. It cost Him His life!
If you could do anything for this bloke, e-mail him and tell him how much God loves Him and tell Him that a very high price has been offered for his soul by Jesus Christ. He will always be the highest bidder, cos no one will want it as much as He does:love:
God bless
