Just my view:
Be led of the Holy Spirit in all things
Grow everyday in your relations and knowledge of the Lord
Personal evangelism- tell others about Jesus

If you do these things you will be ready when He comes as you will already be walking close to His heart.

Do what you are already doing.

Reading The Word.
Praying.
Witnessing.
Worshiping.
Fellowship.
Stand on The Promises of God.
Let nothing shake you.
Praise Him in the storm.
Sacrifice...we all might have to give our lives. Are we ready?

I agree there is nothing to do to be prepared Jesus has done all that was necessary obeying His father.
