Hello God bless you all. Bless you Father, bless you Son, bless you Holy Spirit come.

I would like to be questioned and tested to see where I stand study wise in regard to the Holy Bible. Also I have questions as well.

These are more "trivia" type questions.

Who was King Sauls physically handicapped son that lived with David?
What was Bathsheba's first husbands name?
Who was known for driving his chariot "furiously"?
Which prophet received a "double portion" from his mentor?
Who fought over Moses's body?
Who throws their crowns at Jesus's feet?
Which apostle was chosen by drawing lots?
Who were Hagar and Ishmael?
How many brothers did David have?

there are dozens more... but these aren't usually "Bible study" type questions.

Great. God bless you its a start. I'll look them over and evaluate later today. thank you, will look into those. very interesting.

Atm I'm setting Goals for study, meditate, pray daily and how to learn to study the bible properly using daily list goals, objectives etc. I need to stop obsessing everywhere and be more organized and proactive. setting daily, weekly, monthly yearly etc. prioritize aswell. i'm an procrastenator.

atm im using smart goals, list, project lists etc

I've read and studied on my own for years. thing is it was to get the basic understanding of the bible. now im ready for the next step which is to e very specific and detail oriented

I feel that Love, Wisdom, understanding, speaking and preaching/study one on one at first is very important topics

perhaps im not very good with the study of the over all context of the bible and its books, history etc. topical study is what Ive been mostly studying

bullet pointing from preachers off of the computer and writing small paragraphs with scripture is where im at atm

flash cards with a few verses of scripture and the study of names and hebrew alphabet along with words is what I would like to get into along with learning to write effective sentence, paragraphs and small essays.

1 Was Jesus language hebrew or aramaic?
2 Greek

As you can see I have a long ways to go,

maybe we can focus on step by step study methods for a person like myself.

A brief history of myself is that I was born into wedlock and raised by my single mother in the projects without my siblings and rest of family for the most part, father was not around too. When I was born, I born with aspergers, dyselxia, speech impediment, behavior issues, inability to spell in grade school. Aspergers is a type of high functioning autism. I also have ocd, adhd. was hyperactivity and attention span issues, which makes it hard back in the day to recognize humor, pain, emotions, facial expressions, sarcasm etc, on top of that I was a loner with no friend. I only went to 2 of 8 years of grade school. floated through basic vocational high school to obtain my high school diploma then went into the casino industry to work as a dealer. took the last 20 years to slowly read and self teach myself to write sentences. Self taught myself the bible, psychology a little and Marine biology for growing a coral reef in a aquarium. Had almost no relationship with my 3 children and have been on disability for the last 20 years. For the last 20 years, I've gotten sober from alcohol and have been reading the bible. I've just pretty much stayed in my apartment and developed agoraphobia and social anxiety. I feel i'm ready to learn more specifically on how to properly study, been doing things the way in the past, and now I would like to learn to upgrade myself to earn the way other are doing their studies, so I can learn from them, so when group bible study commences soon, ill be able to keep up and be involved and relatable.

Wow! That will keep clintos very busy.

What do people think about this way of studying the bible?

I like the way this approach gets the reader to concentrate on each phrase and reflect on what is being said.

Personally, if I was to do this amount of highlighting, I'd print out the passage separately and leave my Bible clean. But maybe different people have different preferences.

Honestly, from what see here I think that when you join a group study, you'll find you have read far more than other members. But the joy of group Bible study is in listening to others - sometimes they see things in the text that we'd never see, or have insights that we'd never have on our own.

Have you come across the Bible Project? A huge amount of material created for free. You might find it interesting.

Online Bible studies can aid in finding the mysteries of faith .They take a little digging as for silver or gold . There is more than one level understanding .

Matthew 13:11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

Some literalize and lose the spiritual unseen understanding called faith. Faith of God not of our own selves . In that way learning how and why is it necessary to mix faith with the literal things seen as the gospel rest spoken of in Hebrew 4 .without mixing no rest

Hebrews 4:1-2 King James Version Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

How do we hear faith?

Local bible studies of each denomination tend to limit . In that way in Revelation with the 7 different sects all needing a unique teaching that applies to all .

After each admonishment. Whoever has ears to hear the spiritual understanding comparing or mixing the spiritual (unseen ) to the spiritual (unseen) or faith to faith and not the literal to the literal or historical to the historical The historical is true but again it must be mixed with the unseen

Seeing the mysteries are made known through parables called the signified tongue of God or poetic language . I would think God singing his song to us.

Like Song of Songs one continuous parable

Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

I would suggest the methodology published by David Allen in his two books:

(which is somewhat like his first book, but with better details.)

And yet Origen testifies that the book of Matthew was originally written in Hebrew.

  • I have learned by tradition that first was written that according to Matthew, who was once a tax collector but afterwards an apostle of Jesus Christ, who published it for those who from Judaism came to believe, composed as it was in the Hebrew language. Origen (A.D. c. 185-254)

Should I mention that the Church of the East (think FAR East) claims that the Apostle Thomas brought the New Testament scriptures written in Aramaic with him when traveling into the Parthian and Persian and later Indian empires?
