God wants us to hide His Word in our hearts, just as David does so in Psalm 119:11, which reads, “Thy word have I hid in mine heart…” So how can you do the same? Well, here are three ways. First, you need to hear God’s word; next, receive it; and then meditate on it.
In this verse, word means God’s word and Jesus Christ. For the bible says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God”( John 1:1 KJV). The word ‘hid’ means ‘to keep.’ In order to hide God’s word in your heart, you must first hear it, for “faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17 KJV). Second, after hearing God’s Word, you must make a decision as to whether or not you are going to believe it and receive Christ (who is the word) into your heart. If you do not accept it a number of things could happen to the Word. Jesus says that when some hear the word “then cometh devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts”(Luke 8:12 KJV). Some hear it and “receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away” ( Luke 8:13 KJV). Some, “have heard, go forth, and are choked with the cares and riches, and pleasures of this life and bring no fruit to perfection (Luke 8:14 KJV).” Third, after committing to God, meditate on His Word daily, so that you can remember it and utilize it accordingly. For example, you can use it to resist Satan when he attacks your mind, and you can use it to defend your faith.
So put yourselves in a position to hear God’s word. Once you have heard it, hide it by believing in Christ and accepting Him into your heart. Then meditate on it daily. And lastly, if you have yet to receive Christ or have fallen away from Him, I urge you to accept him. For Jesus says, “blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it” (Luke 11:28 KJV).
