My name is Freddie. Most of my friends call me Fred. I'm 34-years old and live in central California. Though my family is originally from the south (Louisiana).
I'm raising an older mentally handicapped sister and her young son.
My step-father was a minister in life. He passed away in 2003, and my mother followed him soon after. The first few years of the new decade have been rough for my family, but the Lord has been there every step of the way, carrying us when we were to weary to go on.
I post at a few different Christian forums online, where I am known as "Son Worshiper". I'm looking forward to meeting you all here at the Talk Jesus forums. Though I doubt I will have too much to offer. Everyone here seems to know so much more than I do. Lol. This old country boy feels a little out of place. I'm still reading my Bible and learning day by day.
I was raised in two churches. My dad was Methodist, and my mom was Pentecostal. I enjoyed both, but was always closer to the Pentecostals in my own personal beliefs and theology. In my late teens I fell away from my Christian upbringing and lived in the "world" for a long time. And that life of sin and vice almost destroyed me. In 2004 I repented and came back to the foot of the cross . Since then I've really started to read the scriptures and study theology. I've met a lot of great folks online, including a Calvinist brother who challenged me to really think about my beliefs and weigh them against scripture. Did those beliefs have a basis in the Word of God.
I just call myself a Christian now. Though I still have friends amongst the Pentecostal and Methodist denominations.
So that's a little bit about myself. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone in the forums. God bless.
