I am both new and old

I was a member of this community for several years between 2006 and 2011 with the username of LittleAngel?

I left the forums and chat room very abruptly in 2011 as I was admitted to psychiatric hospital and spent most of the time since in and out of these facilities.

I was very unwell and unstable back then but I can finally say I’m well enough to only need outpatient treatment and can live safely (from myself) in the community again.

Anyway, I am starting out my journey here at talkjesus again today. I’d love to know if anyone who was around back when I was active on this website before as I owe some people a lot of time, gratitude and thanks. I lost contact with so many good caring friends when being detained as I had no internet access but would love to recover these but I was unable to access my old account as I no longer use the email address and I feel like that alias belongs in the past anyway.

I also have lots of things to tell about the past 13 years. My life has been traumatic and eventful but I’ve clung on to my faith throughout it all (just about and maybe not always).

I’m also keen to meet new Christian friends too.

Anyway. That’s my introduction.

Welcome back Sarah. I spent a short time in a psychiatric ward back in the 80's. I was depressed due to these little seizures I was having, and made the mistake of writing to my mom about them. She sent letters to my base commander and hospital commander at Lakenheath England demanding I be interred for evaluation. It was pretty embarrassing at the time. But it was confirmed while in the ward that I was having seizures, and by my witness there, someone was saved! Praise the Lord!! As a side note, only one person who was part of the christian group I attended at that time came to see me (about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks in the ward). Speaks volumes to christian attitudes about the matter. God bless you sister.

I’m sorry you had to endure a psychiatric ward to confirm your seizures were real. I hope you no longer have seizures

Like I said, my time there brought a person into saving grace, so I am happy it happened. The seizures happen on rare occasions, but they are not grand mal seizures, and as long as they dont happen while driving, its easily manageable.

That's good I had to stop talking about my beliefs in hospital. It was considered part of my illness. To be fair I was trying to kill demons and believed I had Satan's hands wrapped around my brain. I was very poorly. It stemmed from experiencing religious abuse and finding my faith in all of that and then hanging onto it was very very difficult. I am glad the seizures are not grand mal and I hope and pray they never happen when driving

I have always gotten an aura, like a pre-warning that ones coming on about 30 -60 seconds before it happens. So the one time I had one while driving, I just pulled over, and put it into park until it was over, just to be safe.
