I am having some doubts

This might be a little long, but I hope you read it. For some reason I am having doubts. I believe in God, but I feel like what if the Bible was changed. I have heard people say that the Churches have changed a lot of things in the Bible (I also thought about that and am confused and wondering if all of it is real). Just today one of my older brothers was saying that he believes that the Old Testament is fake (David and Goliath he said was fake since there are no real giants...stuff like that, Noah's Ark... and that a lot if not all of the stuff in the Bible was just made up. He said there are so many other religions, how do we know that Christianity is the correct one? He also said your not supposed to believe in God out of fear. And now I am not sure if that is why I believe in him is out of fear or love. I still believe that there is a God, but I am constantly wondering if some of the stuff of in the bible is real. And my other older brother believes in Jesus, but doesn't believe that he was the son of God. My Grandpa said that there is no such thing as hell (except for here on earth). And that it was all made up just to scare people into believing. I still pray a lot and have resisted temptations that I have had (mostly lusting and judging others). And I believe that it is because of God that I am not sinning so much. But I feel like I am sinning, because I am doubting. I want to go to Heaven and live there with God for eternity. Has anyone else had any of these kind of problems? Please help me I am kind of scared. If someone could help me I would be very grateful.

Thank you for reading and God Bless

Being a Christian is a personal relationship with Jesus. It's not about religion and the Bible is God's love letter to us. It is our guide for living too. It is living and active and sharper than a double edged sword. Hebrews 4.12. We have to be led by the Holy Spirit too. Let Him help us when we read His Word to understand it. Hell is real as there was a story about someone wanting to go and tell others so they would not end up in hell with him. Plus that is where satan will go when Jesus comes back.

God bless

I agree with LLJ,
Being a Christian is a personal relationship with Jesus.
It's not about religion and the Bible is God's love letter to us.
It is our guide for living too.

With that said, you need to get into a solid bible study group.
You need the word to back up your beliefs, that way when people talk you would not be confused.

I know some great churches in NY, that I could recommend.
I'll pm the info.

God bless, I will be praying for you.

Have you considered this section of the forums?
http://www.talkjesus.com/evidence-prophecy-facts/

Read all the sticky threads. Ask anyone to try to honestly dispute the prophecies already fulfilled or the archaeological discoveries, thousands of them proving the Bible completely valid.

I agree with the previous posters... my only advice I can offer you is from my experience. I feel best when I am trying to grow into the type of person that Jesus wants me to be. If you dont like having doubts, then pay them no matter. Your thoughts are precious, and when people tell you things that fill you with doubt, you can put Jesus back into those dark spots and fill yourself with His divine light again! Kind of like the cartoon characters sitting on both shoulders... one is with a halo, one with horns... just listen to what makes you feel best. Good always trumps evil!

Doubts are Welcome

The Bible asks you to examine it and not have a blind faith - 1 Thess.5:21; and God has promised to answer all doubts and clear them - when approached in faith - James 1:5,6 & Jerm. 33:3.
Besides the links Chad has mentioned in this forum, get hold of a copy of "Evidence that Demands a Verdict" by Josh McDowell, there is hardly anything that is not clarified there.
I can understand your predicament since I was once a disbeliever in the Bible and wanted to prove it wrong.

Thank you all for the replies. I started going to an Assemblies Of God Church in Upstate NY. I really love it there. They are going to be having a Bible study session starting in I believe 2 weeks. Right now I am in a class about Driven By Eternity By John Bevere and I really like that. I am going to look for some more stuff online to help for independent Bible study for now. Once again thank you all and God Bless.

Thats great, I'm happy to hear that.
AOG, is a very active church.
Praise be to God.

God bless you
