When 2009 started i had so much expectations and hopes concerning a lot of things and i was really close to God.As the year went by i went through patterns of disappointments and i would encourage myself in the Lord.I faced a lot of hardships in my life in every form emotional, physical, financial, spiritual attacks. In December I just could not take it anymore one moment i would feel really revived and the next really discouraged.Getting into 2010 i went through a 10 day fast and just finished it last week, but i feel like God is so far from me.I feel really tired to pray even though i know i should.I thought i should share with you guys maybe someone went through a similar experience and could give me some advice.

Hi Cheryl! We all have those days.
Last year was really tough for me too. Let us decide to keep Jesus first no matter what.
Let's choose to spend lots of time worshiping Him, really pouring our hearts out to Him and drawing close.
Time spent worrying about how we feel can be better spent choosing to rejoice!
When we spend time focusing on our troubles the get bigger and we tend to spiral down.
When His awesome love and power are our focus we rise up on the wings of an eagle.
I will be praying for you my sister.
Many blessings in Jesus Name,
your brother Larry.

PS: I have had dry times that I later asked the Lord about. I believe He uses those to make us hunger all the more for Him.

Thanks

thank you, will focus on Gods power and love.Isnt it psalms says delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you your hearts desire.
what you have said is true i realise that i have been spending my energy on other things instead of GOD.

thank you Boarnerges

God bless

I am not saying this truly of you, but...

Remember the Israelites were in the wilderness...a true wilderness...there wasn't much there for years...

I think sometimes God takes us to a wilderness to show us things...to guide us away from things that are our focus when HE isn't the center of our life.

Like Brother Bo said.

Sometimes we need to be hungry for him...

I know when I was in a 'dry' time, I learned many things...I learned what it was like to have God rain down his presence on me. I learned that even though I am in a 'dry' time, it doesn't mean God is far away.

God never leaves nor forsakes us. No matter how much we think he is far. He isn't. He is as near to us as our skin. It is us who moved and can't feel him.

I would pray "Father God, please show me you. Let me feel your presence. I NEED to feel your presence." And the ways he does that, are SO amazingly wonderful!
