The Vine and the Branches
1“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes a so that it will be even more fruitful. 3You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
5“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
9“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14You are my friends if you do what I command. 15I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17This is my command: Love each other.
The World Hates the Disciples
18“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. 20Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ b If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. 21They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me. 22If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23Whoever hates me hates my Father as well. 24If I had not done among them the works no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. As it is, they have seen, and yet they have hated both me and my Father. 25But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated me without reason.’ c

John 15:1; "I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.
John 15:2; "Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit.
John 15:3; "You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
John 15:4; "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me.
John 15:5; "I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.
John 15:6; "If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned.
John 15:7; "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
John 15:8; "My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.

No tree can bear any fruit without Jesus. It's true. But some trees don't bear any fruit, even when Jesus is helping them. Some people do not abide ( remain ) in Christ.

Luke 13:6; And He began telling this parable: "A man had a fig tree which had been planted in his vineyard; and he came looking for fruit on it and did not find any.
Luke 13:7; "And he said to the vineyard-keeper, 'Behold, for three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree without finding any. Cut it down! Why does it even use up the ground?'
Luke 13:8; "And he answered and said to him, 'Let it alone, sir, for this year too, until I dig around it and put in fertilizer;
Luke 13:9; and if it bears fruit next year, fine; but if not, cut it down.'"

Why would He come expecting to find fruit on this tree, when He knows the tree can't bear fruit without Him?

Luke 8:10; And He said, "To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is in parables, so that SEEING THEY MAY NOT SEE, AND HEARING THEY MAY NOT UNDERSTAND.
Luke 8:11; "Now the parable is this: the seed is the word of God.
Luke 8:12; "Those beside the road are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their heart, so that they will not believe and be saved.
Luke 8:13; "Those on the rocky soil are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no firm root; they believe for a while, and in time of temptation fall away.
Luke 8:14; "The seed which fell among the thorns, these are the ones who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with worries and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity.
Luke 8:15; "But the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance.

There are 4 kinds of soil here. People tend to focus on verses 12 and 15. The people in verse 12 are never saved.
The people in verse 13.. believe for a while.. and then fall away.
The people in verse 14 even start to bear a little fruit... they couldn't bear ANY fruit at all unless Jesus was with them, at least for a while. But their fruit never grows and matures.
..and finally we have the people in verse 15.

I am quite sure you are a trained gardener too, And I Had been taught by my mother and Aunt.. and I was my own gardener in my yard while everyone hired professionals in our neighborhood, hired professor gardeners.

I do not care what Jesus did, but like Jesus said: no matter how much work Cultivating, the field, it means Nothing ,unless "The FATHER" "Prunes it".

Because Jesus said The He was "the VINE" and His Father is The Gardener"
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener' "anthropomorphic words"

I know what a gardener is and a "grape vine" if the Father "PRUNES" it, believe me it will bear fruit! If GOD the Father PRUNES it, it is Going to bear fruit !
Now think, why do you think, I Picked "John" instead of "the Synoptic""" for the text. at hand. Anytime when you pick one of, or a non synoptic.
I am a gardener myself, I know what "pruning" is.

Did you even read, John 15 at all. or you just glance over it. and just took for granted that all "gospels" and John is not one of the "Synoptics" the same, without a different perspective. for a reason, John is not one of the Synoptics which has been design By GOD for a good reason,,,right.

If I wanted a Synoptic view, I would have chosen a "Synoptic Gospel". for the text in question.

I choose a text of scripture for A very good reason. when I use a text, I can prove it to the 10 power or better in my head, I do not have to look or search nothing up, almost 50 years of studying straight. a way of life. like walking.

Now I do not even know why, you went in the direction you went in, and for what reason.

What ? the same thing we study, in the Sunday school class we talked about over 50 years ago, the same conversation about the matured text in question today. the same thing in "GOD" no growth whatsoever in The Text at hand. but the same conversation.

strange.

probably completely off-topic....

I am reminded of lyrics to a song about martyrs,

"People think I'm strange
Does that make me a stranger
My best friend was born in a manger"

Jesus Freak

Of course I am strange, even the Bible tells me that I am strange, and the Bible do not lie.

King James Bible 1 Peter 2:11
Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

Psalm 39:12
Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear to my cry for help; do not be deaf to my weeping. For I am a foreigner dwelling with You, a stranger like all my fathers.

Geneva Bible of 1587
Dearely beloued, I beseeche you, as strangers and pilgrims, absteine from fleshly lusts, which fight against the soule,

Bishops' Bible of 1568
Dearely beloued, I beseche you as straugers and pilgrimes, abstaine from fleshly lustes, whiche fight agaynst the soule:

Coverdale Bible of 1535
Dearly beloued, I beseke you as straungers and pilgrems, absteyne fro the fleshly lustes, which fighte agaynst the soule,

Tyndale Bible of 1526
Derly beloved I beseche you as straugers and pilgrems abstayne from flesshly lustes which fyght agaynst the soule

The whole world cannot ,figure some of us out!

You see the world thinks that, our good deeds are evil deeds.
1 Peter 2;11
12Conduct yourselves with such honor among the Gentiles that, though they slander you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day He visits us.… [some strange way of wording in the WORD} [the evil they see is really good and they do not know it, i thought i would help y'all out]

You see our good deeds look evil to the world. What the world calls good are not Good to GOD! Strange. Now he commands us to be good, according to his standards, I understand that. "Lean Not unto your own understanding" but Just trust God ,even if you do not like it or understand it. His ways is not like ours, nor are his thoughts. they are as far away as heaven is to Earth. A Finite mind cannot understand The Infinite, because The infinite is incomprehensible to the Finite mind. Wow, I like that. because one day when this mortal, have put on "immortality" OOOOO weeee! I going to have some fun!
I can't wait, what about y'all? Is anticipations keeping y'all waiting too?:)

are y'all mad with me.?:eyes: I Cannot help it I am Strange. That is what if told the "LGBTQ" community, I was born this way too!
