Tomorrow, I have to talk with one of the parents who lost their child in Texas recently, I am of course in prayer about this because the questions he asked me on the phone was quite alarming. Question number 1 His wife stated to him that if God is in control, he is doing a very poor job of it!! And she is thinking about leaving her church. Number 2 this from the dad of the 10-year-old boy, If Jesus loves his children, how is it that he allowed my boy and others to be killed by a demon possessed person?? Scripture, as well as comments would be appreciated.
Hello
@brighthouse98,
You have had such commendable responses already, that for me to add anything seems superfluous, but I would like to share something with you.
My sister, who is fourteen years older than myself, and who lived through experiences before my birth, within my family, that she has recalled to me, told me of my Mother's response to a question asked following the loss of three children within swift succession. The question was,
'How could God make you go through this again?' My elder brother and sister, then 14 and 12 yrs, heard her response while on the landing listening to the conversation below them, which was,
'God would not allow me to go through this without giving me the strength to do so'. Her faith was strong, and did not waver. Praise God!
Years later, when my sister lost her 32yr old daughter to breast cancer, memory of that conversation helped her to overcome her own grief, and so it bore fruit to God's glory, though many years intervened. My Father's anger and resentment against God did not leave him unfortunately. Yet I know that he believed the gospel of God concerning His Son the Lord Jesus Christ, and so I believe that the gift of life promised to all such will be granted him in that day.
Always wanting at least four children, my parents went on to give birth to myself and my younger brother, which possibly would not have happened had those three children lived. My sister and I both know the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour and Lord, and share fellowship with each other as members of the Church which is His Body the fulness of Him that filleth all in all.
Our lives, in Christ, are not for this life only. There is a resurrection life to come, into a world in which there will be no unrighteous acts like that experienced in Texas: no sin, no hatred or violence; only righteousness, love and grace in abundance, in and through Christ Jesus our Lord. Those little ones will have that hope ahead for them too.
Praise His Holy Name!
Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris
