I love Jesus, and I know he can save all of us if we believe in him, repent and know his blood shed was for us..but I can't stop having these bad thoughts at night.
I'll be laying there after I say my good night prayers, and I'll have these bad thoughts. They scare me, I think I'm going to hell, or I'll think bad things that make me doubt my faith.
I pray a few times a day, and I catch myself smiling when I do, but then afterwards I feel scared. I don't understand.
I also am afraid because I've had sex before marriage. I want to have the secure feeling I used to have, I'm terrified that I won't be saved.

I think what might help is to pray right now and ask God to show you if there is any sin that isn't confessed and forgiven. Then, get out your Bible and if it has a place that you can look up or words, use that. If not, go online and find scripture about doubting your salvation and doubting God and also about bad thoughts. And anything else you want to look up that might help.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Memorize verses that give you peace and knowing that God is with you.

When a bad thought comes to mind, rebuke it in the name of Jesus and ask God to fill your mind with good thoughts. Think of good things like Jesus' love, His faithfulness, His power, His strength, His peace, etc.

God is with you. You just need to reach out your hand and He'll reach out to you.

Hope this helps.

Your sister in Christ.

Thank you, I'm not sure if I have asked for forgiveness of every sin, I'm not even sure if I remember all of my sins.

Maybe say a prayer like "Lord, forgive me of all my sins. I don't know all of them. I ask that you would wash them white as snow. Help me to turn from my sins. I pray this in Jesus' name, Amen."

Just an idea.

Any fear that is coming to you is not from God as giggles said He has not given us a spirit of fear. The enemy gains access into our lives through our fear just the same as God gains access through our faith. And as giggles also said meditate on some scriptures of Gods promises to you. And when the enemy tries to throw these thoughts into your mind you can speak the Word of God outloud. Get your thoughts in line with Gods thoughts about you.

James 4:7
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

The enemy tries to do these things with people who are fairly new in the Lord...I don't necessarily mean in years but in knowledge of God.

I must say this. If you are in a sexual relationship right now you need to turn from this and back to God. To willingly be outside of His will (and we know that is not His will) and living in sin opens the door for satan and it also will cause you to be cut off from God. I am not saying this to cause you to fear. I am telling you this because so that you might repent and turn back to God if you are living this way. Know who you are in Christ, remain in Him, rest in Him. Blessings!

Grace is Gods way of saving us, it is not earned, its a gift. Only if we sin without care, does the lord use chastisement.

But even that is for to teach us right from wrong and to correct us into salvation. What father does not correct his children? If we endure it God treats us as sons, as a loving father

All men have sinned and come short of the glory of God, bad thoughts dont change that. But we should pray always to let God help and speak peace into our hearts. Think on good things as God is greater than our fears.

Sin dwells in us there is nothing we can do about it, but Christ can.

When it comes to sins that bother our mind, Paul give us the answer. O wretched man that i am, who shall deliver me from this body of death. It is Christ who delivers us from sin, or forgives us of it...

1Jn 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

Rom 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
Rom 7:15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
Rom 7:16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that [it is] good.
Rom 7:17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
Rom 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but [how] to perform that which is good I find not.
Rom 7:19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.

Rom 7:20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

Rom 7:21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
Rom 7:22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
Rom 7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
Rom 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

Rom 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

This is not an excuse to go out and sin willingly, this is to show us that we have a sin nature and that God understands it..

We are freely justified by his grace if we have faith in Christ. Then we can let God do the work in us with worship and praise and prayer.

We have peace with God because now we know he's not a fire breathing dragon. Will there be test and trials of our faith, yes. But God does not allow them to over come us, if we hold on to our faith and confidence in Christ.

Rom 3:9 What then? are we better [than they]? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;

Rom 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Rom 3:11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

Rom 3:12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Rom 3:13 Their throat [is] an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps [is] under their lips:

Rom 3:14 Whose mouth [is] full of cursing and bitterness:

Rom 3:15 Their feet [are] swift to shed blood:
Rom 3:16 Destruction and misery [are] in their ways:
Rom 3:17 And the way of peace have they not known:

Rom 3:18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.

Rom 3:19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

Rom 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law [is] the knowledge of sin.

Rom 3:21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

Rom 3:22 Even the righteousness of God [which is] by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Rom 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Rom 3:25 Whom God hath set forth [to be] a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

Rom 3:26 To declare, [I say], at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
Rom 3:27 Where [is] boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

Rom 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Rom 3:29 [Is he] the God of the Jews only? [is he] not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:

Rom 3:30 Seeing [it is] one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.

Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

As far as fear, some fear can be a good thing. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.

Paul had fears and trouble on every side of his walk with God. But God was with him, he didnt have a worldly fear (ie satanic fear) or spirit of fear, but a natural fear. The wretched man fear...

And i think this is the fear you have, lift up your head and taste and see that the lord is good:)

2Co 7:5 For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without were fightings, within were fears.

God bless

Hello IloveJesus92, I understand your struggle and hopefully if you read and understand some of what Fellowservant posted you will be well on your way to gaining some victory.

According to the scriptures (especially those mentioned in Fellowservant's post) we are justified. Now let's see what that means.

It is the Greek word dikaioō and it means to declare or pronounce one to be just or righteous. This means so much more than to just being forgiven. To be forgiven is not the same as being just. To be just means to be found not guilty and having nothing in which needs forgiveness.
Now I hope you can see the power of God's grace and the effect it has on all of us. We are not just forgiven we are made or found just and righteous by Christ's death on the cross. Hallelujah we are made just by Christ as far as the Judge is concerned and get this He is not upset about it He is happy about it, and it pleases Him.

Good stuff Fellowservant.

just say? satan get out of here and take your dumb thoughts with you in the mighty name of JESUS CHRIST!
he must obey us in the name of JESUS , he has no choice!

he will try again .just rebuke him again!

We all get thoughts from demons and the LORD!
our flesh has desires , we must keep in check! the devil knows this and tries to use it against us!

Thank you, I'm not sure if I have asked for forgiveness of every sin, I'm not even sure if I remember all of my sins.

Hello IloveJesus92, I would like to shed some light on this subject.

1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

The key word in this verse is ALL. If we go the Lord and confess the sins we honestly know then the Lord cleanses from ALL unrighteousness which are the sins we may not know.

So as long as you confess your sins and are honest and repent from those sins, then you are fully cleansed because of our Lord Jesus Christ and what he did at the Cross. How wonderful the Cross is.

We have to remember the Cross is not just about salvation, but about sanctification and how we live our daily lives. When we look to what Jesus Christ did at the cross, then and only then the Holy Spirit works within our lives to give us the power we need to defeat sin. (We can find this in Romans 6-8, and the other writings of the Apostle Paul.)

The Bible does not teach sinless perfection, however we can overcome the bondage of sin if we look to Christ and the Cross.

Thank you, I'm not sure if I have asked for forgiveness of every sin, I'm not even sure if I remember all of my sins.

I don't think we can remember all our sin against God, but He can reveal them to us so that we can repent of them.

Psalm 139:23-24 was a prayer I was so afraid of praying because I knew HE would answer and show me how He saw my heart. I thought He would try me more than I was able or that He would show me that I wasn't worth saving. I was wrong on both counts as He revealed much in me that needed to come to Him in repentance and prayer.

He has also promised not to test and try us above that we are able to stand, (1 Corinthians 10:13) as we strive for “Christlikeness” (Philippians 3:12-16). Those He loves He also chastises, corrects, disciplines, guides, directs, forgives and truly loves (Hebrews 12:7-11) like any good parent.

Doubt causes confusion which is where Satan wishes us to be. He likes nothing more than to have us doubt and reject or question God’s promises. Anything that he can do to undermine God is what he continues.

Some of the ‘bad thought’ that might come to mind are the ones where you ask forgiveness for sin knowing you were wrong, and also know that God’s forgiven but you have trouble ‘forgiving yourself’ for something wrong.

It took me a while to understand that ‘forgiving myself’ was my attempt to over rule God’s forgiveness thinking that mine was more important than His, which is what a statement like this would include.

What changed for me each time this ‘offence’ that I was guilty of came to mind; was to PRAISE God for HIS forgiveness of my sin and THANK HIM for HIS ultimate mercy and grace. (something that Satan finds hard to swallow when we continually praise God) The ‘reminders’ of my sin and the doubts of my salvation became less and less as praise became more and more.

Another thing that is misunderstood is good guilt and bad guilt. Bad guilt is taking the blame that is not yours such as blaming yourself for the alcoholic’s behavior. Good guilt is the alcoholic taking responsibility for their actions against another person and CHANGING that attitude or action through regret and change (if not saved) or repentance and change (if saved)

That is why it is imperative that we praise God for forgiveness because we were guilty and then turn from it. Praising Him makes clear what HE has brought us through, what HE has forgiven, what HE has directed us away from. Guilty though we were, we are now washed clean through Christ.

If a certain thing is brought to mind that brings doubt, something that you have given to Christ, turned from and has been forgiven, praise Him for His mercy. If a certain thing is brought to mind that brings doubt, something that you have not given to Christ or asked forgiveness for, repent of it, turn from it and ask forgiveness.

I love Jesus, this is for you. Rom 8:1 says therefore there is NO CONDEMNAION for those in Christ Jesus. I served two tours in Vienam, the things I did to some of the people there, gave me such nightmares! I never ever thought,I could ever be free, until one day.Psalm 103:11-17 Jesus took our sins as far as the east is from the west(a great song by casting crowns by the way on u-tube) and he remembers them no more, how is this because Jesus forgot? Because he loves us that much to do just that! Put your sea of forgetfullness next to his,and be thankful!I did,I can sleep all night now, because I have my sea of forgetfullness right next to his! I am far from a perfect man in jesus, but Jesus in me is! Hebrews 13:5-6 Jesus said I will never leave you!! or forsake you!! Let it go,and Jesus will make you free!john 8:31-32 We can do this, when we abide, meaning we trust,in his very Word! Praise Jesus forever!
