I had a dream

Hi all. I don't know if this is the right place to post in, but I just wanted to ask maybe some insight on a dream I had about 10 years ago, when I was 16. My cousin was into Wicca then, and had me interested in it, so I dabbled a bit with it. I don't remember the exact night I had the dream, but I remember sitting on my parents' front lawn with my cat. I was petting my cat, and the sky was dark with tons of stars. A voice seemed to boom at me, from no where. A voice which I preceived as God's voice said to me: "Give up Wicca, it will only cause you harm." The dream freaked me out. Needless to say I did not dabble in it anymore, nor I wont. Any insights?

I think everyone was probably puzzled by what insights you needed.
It's not strange for God to ask people to drop stuff and follow him...

I would be worried if the voice said " drop God ".....

hey guys, sorry for not being more in depth about the insghts I wanted. I guess because I had this dream so long ago, and it always was on my mind, I just wanted to tell someone. I thought that God was telling me to follow Him, not some kind of cult religion. I don't know, that was all I meant by insights. Sometimes I think God talks to us, and I was hoping He had talked to me.

It sounds like any insight needed was already received by you.
I believe that God does speak through dreams, visions, people, circumstances, angels, etc.
Praise God that you followed His call like the disciples did!

Just from reading and hearing what all of the replies are by you and all of the others, I gather that you are contemplating God's voice...If I ever heard it, that was definitely Him for you to hear and also think about this often like you say you do. God has a plan for you and always has...and since you are one of His children, you are now fine tuning into it...Like I guess I see it like this...

Before, when you were living in the flesh and doing the things you WERE doing...i.e. dabbling...you were hardened to the things that maybe God wanted to give you when that dream came through and pierced you like a 2 edged sword (Hebrews 4:12 "For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than any two edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires" -NLT-)

And the way you know this was truly the word of God is because it will always line up with the word of God...here is specific that I know it was from God (In my spirit & Scripture based)
1 Timothy says "...Guard what is entrusted to you. Avoid Godless, foolish discussions with those who oppose you with their so-called knowledge. Some people have wandered from the faith by following such foolishness"

Wicca=No God..."Godless"
"Foolish"...Psalm 14:1 "Only fools say there is no God..."
Psalm 53:1 "Only fools say in their hearts "There is no God"...they are corrupt and their actions are evil;not one of them are good!"

So...I hope this is some of that "insight" you were looking to gain...Keep listening...His sheep know His voice...pray without ceasing and remember that part of prayer is also listening for Him to spaek back and HE will speak back in the craziest and most subtle ways!! Remember when in 1 Kings 19:12 when Elijah tried to hear God...he didn't hear Him in the windstorm, or in the earthquake, or in the fire...he heard Him after all this...in a gentle whisper!

God is good ALL the time...God bless you all and hope that you accept the blessings God has in store, but only for the asking...Our God is a gentleman and won't give you anything you didn't ask for!

When I was in my early 20's I began studying wicca. I even found a coven and I live in the Bible Belt. I went thru the year and a day ritual to become a member of the coven, but at the last minute I backed out. I believe that God really called to you and what a wonderful blessing. I'm a little on the hard hearted side, but once I cried out to God for an answer and He really did speak to my heart. It brought me to tears. I know in my heart He has always been watching over me and waiting on me and I believe He was doing the same with you.

About your involvement in wicca

Hello.

I will begin by saying i have researched into the occult for over 8 years and this subject matter is pretty easy for me.God,working through the Holy Spirit, has given me fascinating insights.

I sense i have an interpretation for the dream.

The cat you were petting seems to be your involvement with the Wiccans.You were petting it seems to imply your "playing " with the Wiccans.The cat is a major familiar used in witchcraft.A familiar is an object "familiar" to the witch, and it is used for communication purposes.The stars you were looking up to imply your fascination with the spirit realm.In the book of Job, Job says that he had not looked at "the stars or the sun"in order to be enticed into worshipping them.

God is most wonderful from a spiritual stand point.You do not need to be enticed by satan to have spiritual experiences.

You have established the "spirit cord" spoken in the book of ecclesiastes, which enables you to contact the spirit realm,by simply dabbling with the wiccans! You need to cut it! This cord is the connection between your soul and spirit that enables you to see the spirit realm..(see the books "prepare for war" and "he came to set the captives free" by Rebecca Brown,M.D. ) satan can torment you through this cord!
