Wisdom
Hallaluia to the Lamb of God
You are so very lucky. Do you know your good fortune?
God has blessed you with a measure of faith large enough to know that He is there and you should listen to Him. Others have a harder struggle.
You have been specially blessed.
But you are asking too much of the measure of faith you were given.
Few in this age, few even in the Bible, hear the Word of God as a spoken voice.
Stop to think about this: Read the beginning of the Book of Numbers. Think of the hundreds of thousands of people that are recorded as being in the wilderness with Moses.
And yet, Moses was the only person among all of them who actually heard God's voice.
What portion of your life are you offering so completely to the Lord that He might need to give you spoken instruction?
Thank God for the rest -- the peace -- you should feel in the silence. He is with you, but He is quiet because nothing needs to be said right now.
Love the Lord God with all your heart and all your mind and all your soul and live your life. You cannot do the latter badly if you are honest in doing the former.
If He is not content to let you hear His Word from His holy lips, then be at peace and read His Word in the Bible. There are at least 66 books full of God's Word.
It was given to you to sustain you. Read the minor prophets. Read a chapter or a book that you haven't read before or haven't read recently. Read the Word of God faithfully, believing that He will "speak" to you in those lessons and histories. Believe He will instruct you in those Proverbs and comfort you in the Psalms. Everything you need is already there, written and complete.
So read..and pray.
Pray the prayer of Solomon: Ask the Lord for greater wisdom.
Don't ask Him what you should do, He may not answer at all unless He has some specific immediate task for you, for your life was given to you as a gift -- you live it as you choose to live it.
Don't ask Him what you shouldn't do, He has already answered that, because you are not under the Law but under Grace -- live your life as your Love for God allows you to live, and do nothing that disrespects that Love.
But you may ask Him for greater wisdom. You may ask Him to expand your understanding of His recorded Word or of your circumstances so that you can make better and more godly choices.
Remember, you are a child of God, you are a member of the family of Y'Israel. Live your life from the standpoint of Victory, for Christ has won all battles for us.
God wants to give you houses you didn't build and wells you didn't dig and vinyards you didn't plant. He wishes for you to delight in Him and He will give you all the desires of your heart.
Know that our Lord is God, there is no other like Him, and feel the delight that knowledge should bring you.
Stand on the promises of God.
May the Lord bless you and keep you,
Janette
