Well the reason why I ask this question because I was comming along with that website but it said that Valentine's Day is bad and that we should not celebrate Valentine's Day:embarasse But even though it is a pagan holiday but we could still give are mom and dad and wife and girlfriend gifts and I say I love you would that be nice or I should I if there is a day that had to do with hate I guest thats nothing to do with love:embarasse

Hi again stylz, I think its a good and bad thing. Heres what I mean:

It can be used as a declaration of ones love for the other spouse - now I highly doubt theres anything wrong with that.

The downside is that unmarried couples, such as teens or young adults without a relationship with God can use that day for sex - a whole lot of todays youth are having premarital sex, pretty much everyone I know has already - my older brother had done by his 14th birthday.

Its ok if you dont cross the line, if you know what I mean. If somebody isnt married and wants to celebrate valentines day then boundaries must be set.

Well I know we had church services at my church one one time and it was not on the 14th but on the second and it had to do with Love and we doing something about realationship and loving God like the bible when said something about the best commandment in the bible is love God and love your neighbor as your self but love is post to be a everyday thing:shade:

Hum......Well, my personal opinion about Valentines day is:

I think it's rather silly. I don't intent to hurt anyone or be rude to anyone who celebrates the holiday.

I do not think that there should be day when you are supposed to express your love to someone. In a sense, everyday should be like Valentines day.

I think it's a manmade, pagan holiday, that people have come up with to make money.

According to Romans 14, God will accept you Stylz if you celebrate that holiday. But just make sure you're not breaking covenant with the Lord.

I hope this helped!

Well, I don't use it like in a way like the world does but if you think this way why celebrate Christmas when they say it is a pagan holiday and plus what is a covenant?

Question: "What is the New Covenant?"

Answer: The new covenant is spoken about first in the book of Jeremiah. The old covenant that God had established with His people required obedience to the Old Testament Mosaic law. Because the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23), the law required that people performed rituals and sacrifices in order to please God and remain in His grace. The prophet Jeremiah predicted that there would be a time when God would make a new covenant with the nation of Israel.

"'The day will come,' says the Lord, 'when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and Judah....But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day,' says the Lord. 'I will put my law in their minds, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people" (Jeremiah 31:31,33). Jesus Christ came to fulfill the law of Moses (Matthew 5:17) and create a new covenant between God and His people. The old covenant was written in stone, but the new covenant is written on our hearts, made possible only by faith in Christ, who shed His own blood to atone for the sins of the world. Luke 22:20 says, "After supper, [Jesus] took another cup of wine and said, 'This wine is the token of God's new covenant to save you – an agreement sealed with the blood I will pour out for you.'"

Now that we are under the new covenant, we are not bound by the law. We are now given the opportunity to receive salvation as a free gift, not as a reward for any of our good works (Ephesians 2:8-9). Through the life-giving Holy Spirit who lives in all believers (Romans 8:9-11), we can now share in the inheritance of Christ and enjoy a permanent, unbroken relationship with God. Hebrews 9:15 declares, “For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance – now that He has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.”

Thank you LadyLovesJesus for answer the covenant question. I will answer your question about Christmas also stylz!

Well-- this is just my opinion and my feeling. I am not imposing this on you in any way! Christmas has become a commercial holiday. For businesses it's about increase in revenue. People have forgotten the true meaning of Christmas.

My family for example -- they have santa clause images, which I do not agree with. Christmas is not about santa clause, but is about the birth of Our Savior Lord Jesus Christ!

Also, December is the time that the wise men found the Baby Jesus, not the day he was born.

There is so much to say about this, but it all comes down to Romans 14:

1Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters. 2One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. 3The man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him. 4Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.....
13Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way. 14As one who is in the Lord Jesus, I am fully convinced that no food[b] is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean. 15If your brother is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not by your eating destroy your brother for whom Christ died. 16Do not allow what you consider good to be spoken of as evil. 17For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, 18because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men.

And it goes on. I hope you understand what I am saying brother. I am not angry with you or anything negative!

Looking forward to your reply!
