After reading FaithforBrides ":) yes it is good. Do not only take it but do good to them and pray for them. These things have a wonderful reward in heaven", I am not sure that comes across as the absolute answer. By all means, pray for them, but you don't have to take it!!

As a teenager, I befriended those kids no one else liked, that would be in the will of God. At the same time as a young teen and woman, always thinking that if I turned the other cheek, I would be doing the will of God, letting others verbally abuse me, or physically abuse me, I was wrong.

It is not the will of God that we be mistreated, or walked on, or that we never stand up for ourselves. All things are to be done in the Lord, to bring Him glory, and it does not bring Him glory for His children to be treated like garbage. If someone is mistreating you for being a Christian, that would be the only situation where I would see there would be a great reward in heaven. Even then I'd go out quoting scripture or something!!

The world has mistaken Jesus kindness as a weakness, He did what He did for us, and even though we should strive to be like Him, if we are being mistreated we have every right to stand up for ourselves, speak up or do whatever we have to do to be treated fairly. Even if it just saying, God bless you as we shake the dust off of our feet and further avoid these people. Our God is not weak, His Holy Spirit is the essence of a very powerful God, we are not the rug of the world, we are to be a light to the world.

Please be careful as to what you let yourself "take".

1Pe 2:17 Honour all [men]. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.
1Pe 2:18 ¶ Servants, [be] subject to [your] masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.
1Pe 2:19 For this [is] thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.
1Pe 2:20 For what glory [is it], if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer [for it], ye take it patiently, this [is] acceptable with God.
1Pe 2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
1Pe 2:22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
1Pe 2:23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed [himself] to him that judgeth righteously:
1Pe 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Mat 5:39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
Mat 5:40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have [thy] cloke also.
Mat 5:41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
Mat 5:42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
Mat 5:43 ¶ Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
Mat 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Mat 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
Mat 5:46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
Mat 5:47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more [than others]? do not even the publicans so?
Mat 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Rom 12:18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
Rom 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but [rather] give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance [is] mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
Rom 12:20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
Rom 12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good
.

- There should be nothing we do that is not for Christ, we should live the way He instructed us in all things whether we are being persecuted for His name or reviled just because someone else has issues. These are good for us on more than one purpose.- As believers we are to be dying daily and walking in our death and His resurrection. Each time we are presented with an opportunity where we are being walked on we are given the ability in Christ to put down the old man and walk like Christ, or to raise up the old man and say to ourselves " i dont have to take that". One bares much spiritual fruit in Christ. Notice Jesus did not say " when you are reviled for my name, he just said when you are reviled".
If we look at the entire word of God we find that many wrong things- that appeared to have nothing to do with God-happened to Gods people but that it was GOD working those things out for their good. and it is true today. Something does not have to come blaspheming Jesus name, to be a situation where we obey these words and accepted being walked on. God does these things for our good. It is His will that we be tried, and tested. It is His will to use pressings and pushings and hard things to get us to give up our worldly " rights" of the flesh and die to self. Things for us are not supposed to be fair, we are to be hated by all nations for His name sake.

If you are never walked over, you will never get the chance to die to self when opposed by others, or to bless them who curse you, to do good to them to return good for evil.

Yes, in the harder times it helps show how great his love actually is or get to know him better.. i guess from now on when I'm in a struggles I'll remind myself of that and just praise God because I know he has a GOOD plan for me. ^-^ (Thank you all, I've resorted to my highschools guidance office room during lunch and spare class to sit here on a computer reading on TalkJesus and I enjoy it so much... Love you all, i can't wait to see your faces in heaven.. what a wonderful day! Hallelujah!)

Romans 12:9-16 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.

If these people who are hurting your feelings are Christians, and I would guess they are not, abhor what is evil, stay away from them. Allowing them to walk all over you day after day is not God's will. It is His will that we treat our brothers and sisters in Christ with love, and then bless our enemies by praying for them, by giving them to drink, by feeding them, not staying under their feet to allow evil to continue. Perhaps your kindness will bring them to the Lord, being tied to their whipping post will not, God will have to do it. Like He did Paul.

You did not say exactly what they are doing to you, or saying to you to walk all over you, but I would hope that the Lord fills you with wisdom to understand, you are not required by some law to suffer your way into heaven. Pray for them till your knees bleed if you must, but don't fall into the trap of believing you are deserving of mistreatment for the sake of Christ. Jesus paid it all. He will provide a way to deliver you, unless you choose to stay. Your just a young girl!! Smile and walk away and remember greater is He who is in you!! I am sorry that you feel down, I pray the Lord will lift you up and renew your joy and strength.

Stand up and fight brother......Dare to be a Daniel.

The only folks who I tend to let walk over me are Christian folks. I listen to what they have to say....and take it on board...though I may disagree.

As for the rest of the folks I meet at the golf club etc. I make a stand....speak my mind (as a righteous man) and I am not afraid to rebuke if necessary.....of course I do this in a particularly friendy way so as not to offend...... Consequently I find that I am well liked.

Folks know what I as a Christian stand for.....and I am against bad language, bad behaviour, vulgarity etc.

The bible says that we Christians...followers of Jesus are the salt of the earth, and if the salt has lost its savour.........the cleansing power has also gone.

Gosh what to tell a young person. Hard sometimes.

No it is not Ok to let people run all over you. That is not Gods intent or wish for you.

I am not saying physically in school to fight back , that will only lead to more trouble . I am just saying that when you know you are right, and in all intelligent ways never back down.

I am not sure what is going on, but a person of Christ in the world has a hard time sometimes.

But you do not have to let people pick on you or run over you.

I will leave it at that as I do not know the situation.
