Well are you walking in "The SPIRIT" when you "Self Stimulate"? Or The Flesh? :eyes:

(Galatians 5:17)BSB
"So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.....For the flesh craves what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are opposed to each other, so that you do not do what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law."

1 Peter 2:11
Beloved, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from the desires of the flesh, which war against your soul.

Galatians 5:24
Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Galatians 5:25
Since we live by the Spirit, let us walk in step with the Spirit.

And The Battle go's on.:pensive:

Note: " but not from Masturbation" " Because if Feels GOOD" "Almond JOY" candy commercial. You remember that song? "Sometimes I feel like a nut sometimes I don't"
Going on a diet is not easy, You have to work at it, Like building a "Six Pack" you can do it! Every one a has a certain attraction, legs, heels, sandals, hips, where ever that attraction is don't go there, by sight or mind. Until you build up the "triceps" to stay away, Flee!

(The New Heart English Bible) 2 Corinthians 10:4
"for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty in God for the tearing down of strongholds, ...throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;"

The Thought into captivity" when it arises flee from the Thought! Flee! Resist the Devil and He will flee too!

The sight is what you see given by the world
The Thought is The Flesh
Then The Strong excitement is from a demon, who has the stronghold by practice.

New International Version
“The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light."

These are exercises that must be practice to gain muscle. You cannot keep going to the "Refrigerator" :eyes: And slipping by "McDonalds"!

your certainly not going to hell for that, if you did every born again christian who made love to his wife/husband would also go to hell. Its more about what images your looking at or thinking about that is the problem.

Hello

According to the following scriptures, Christians should not be involved in fornication.

1 Thessalonians 4:3 - For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: (KV)

Ephesians 5:3 - But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; (KJV)

Fornication is when a person engages in sexual relations outside of marriage. Masturbation is having sex with yourself. This is sex outside of marriage and therefore you are fornicating.

I suggest you to avoid things that are sexually stimulating such as foods that are aphrodisiacs, explicit movies and ungodly television programs. Especially avoid sexually stimulating music like rock and roll music.

I understand completely, and I was pretty much in the same boat. What makes the difference is that you must renew your mind...reprogram your subconscious mind with the thoughts of God. I saw where someone said to walk in the Spirit, but anyone who knows what they are talking about, knows that you cannot walk in the Spirit until you first renew your mind.

In order to renew your mind, you have to do at least two things: read the Bible every day, as much as you can, until your thought patterns change and you not only no longer what to do these things, but you begin to actually gain spiritual power to stop doing it...and you MUST pray and spend time with God in His presence in prayer, quiet time with Him, and in worship. If you are saved, you are a tree of God, and God's trees need certain things to live and grow just like real trees...SONlight, which comes from being in God's presence in prayer; Spirit which is like water to a tree, which you also become saturated with as you spend time with God in His presence; and the Word of God, which is the soil that the roots need to go down deep into for nutrients. The Word of God is your spiritual nutrition.

The more time you spend with God in His presence, in prayer and worship, and the more time you spend reading God's Word in order to change your thought patterns on things, then you will renew your mind and these things will come to the point where the temptation to do them hit you and then roll off like water off a duck's back. I know, I have experienced the very same thing...and it took me years to learn that the answer was right in the Scriptures the whole time...renewing your mind.

Blessings.

Why you masturbate is because you want to masturbate you do not hate that sin, admit this to God be honest with Him, let your prayer be "God I do not hate to masturbate but have a joy in it so I ask you to give me a hate for this sin". This will, I think, give you victory over that sin. And it is also good to fast and pray over this sin. God will not abandon you as long as you do not give up, God will give you victory in the end because God is love He is the only one who truly truly loves us.

Before I came my rebirth into the Body of Christ, I relied on the things that I was taught by my parents example to do things that "made me feel good"...either physically or emotionally. Whether it was booze, weed, porn, or multiple sex partners....they did not care what we did. BOTH abandoned their 5 children and went to live with their lovers. We lived under in the ghetto. So, we did what we HAD to do to survived. We had NO supervision and that, included, no protection but each other. BUT, by GOD'S grace, we had a praying Granddad. And, miraculously, ALL OF US (at different times) GAVE OUR LIVES TO CHRIST. Yes, ALL! But, we still had A LOT of unlearning to do....ALOT!!!! There were things that we had to stop doing do that we would be believable witnesses while sharing the GOSPEL. I can't tell you how many times I was asked, "Do you drink?' Alcohol was one of my ways to escape from the abandonment and other things. But, giving it up for the pleasure of being able to say, "No, I don't...not even at family gatherings."...that made me feel my Lord's joy in my heart because HE KNEW that I gave it up for His glory. But, the struggle with masturbation took longer....much longer than it should have, actually, because I was not convinced that it was a sin AND I was not confronted with it by those that I was witnessing to. It came when I REALLY believed that Jesus Christ REALLY was with me every moment of every day. It's true - He never leaves us nor forsakes us. His eyes are ALWAYS upon us. (2nd Chronicles 16:9) I did not want Him watching me doing or saying ANYTHING that would grieve His indwelling Holy Spirit. So, I made some changes that have kept me faithful to that choice for many years. 1) I stayed away from movies that were not PG and/or have a subject matter that could "trigger"stored up images from past selections. Sometimes, I have, accidently, stumbled into a scene that was "inappropriately" downgraded by the entertainment industry. But, I have learned to shut it off because I want the Holy Spirit to be comfortable in my home, heart, and life. 2) I have partners in Christ that hold me accountable in areas that I have asked them to help me with. THIS has helped me soooooo much. I don't want to be a liar. I don't want to be a person who makes excuses for my sinning. I don't want to get trapped into the cycle of "sin-confess-sin-confess...." Their love and respect for me means alot. So, when I find myself unable to get free of ANYTHING OR ANYONE that is hampering my growth in Christ - I GET BACK UP! 'Works every time!! As a result, King Jesus has, ALSO, given me a "thorn in my flesh" as an added incentive not to "fall." In the past, whenever I was in the "process" - I would get these VERY painful migraines that felt like my skull was going to explode. It would subside, instantly, when I stopped. GOD'S grace is STILL amazing. I said all this to say, to stop is up to you.....you must decide for yourself....if you want to stay ensnared because it "feels good" to your flesh. Or, if you want your freedom enough to COMPLETELY surrender to the Holy Spirit's convicting you. Make a choice. Make a plan. Make deliverance from this your next testimony. Amen?

Since everything the Spirit of Christ does is to bring glory to the Son, Jesus Christ, you should give that credit & glory to Jesus Christ for that conviction through the Holy Spirit in you.

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. 15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Philippians 1: 6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: ... 11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

I was saved at 19 why can't I shake this sin, I'm 49 and still suffer, the Lord delivered me from alcohol abuse, drug abuse, smoking, gambling but not from masturbation

Since you feel dirty and guilt ridden, then that is the Lord Jesus Christ convicting you through the Holy Spirit in you. Since you know He has delivered you from the bondage to sin from alcohol abuse, drug abuse, smoking, & gambling, you can have hope He will deliver you from masturbation too. It may take time because of the world we live in sows to our flesh through the eye in the media, advertisement and even through our ears through music, with the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye, and the pride of life, but that is what running that race is all about; looking to the author & finisher of our faith to help us lay aside every weight & sin daily in walking in the light in fellowship with the Father & the Son since God is in us and with us always as He will walk us through this valley of death for He is with us always so we can have hope in Him to fear no evil.

To lay aside every weight means to not make any provision for the flesh to fulfill the lust thereof, which also includes getting rid of those provisions too, be it comic books, porn, catalogues, magazines, * if it is having access to the internet, even put guards in place like parents do for their children, or unplug that computer and get another hobby.

Philippians 1: 6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: ... 11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

Romans 13:13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. 14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

James 1: 12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. 13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. 16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.

1 Corinthians 10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. 13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Hebrews 2:17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. 18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. 14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. 15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Also trust Jesus Christ to let you know when you need to cast down wicked thoughts & think on good things. If you are looking at someone that is causing you to lust or desire, then look away and pray to Jesus to help you think about something else. If you can recall a good memory or thought that gives you joy or happiness, make that thought your go to every time you ask Jesus for help and He will help you to do it, thinking on that good thought.

2 Corinthians 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. 7 Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? if any man trust to himself that he is Christ's, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ's, even so are we Christ's.

1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Luke 11:34 The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness. 35 Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.

Proverbs 6:27 Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Psalm 19:12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. 13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. 14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

Proverbs 16: 9 A man's heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps.

Matthew 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

John 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

Trust the Lord Jesus Christ today to be your Good Shepherd & Friend to help you to follow Him daily in laying aside every weight & sin in walking in the light in fellowship with the Father & the Son.

You are saved, for why we are not to grieve the Holy Spirit in us. So trust Jesus Christ to help you to follow Him in thought, word, & deed daily.

Ephesians 4: 30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. 38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. 39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. 40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

I truly want to give it up brother but I failed so many times

drugs, gambling, alcoholic abuse the Lord praise his holy name delivered from these

Why not this issue,

Am I going to hell for masterbation

No, but you, I and even Paul are at risk of being left behind as a castaway when the Bridegroom comes & so there is still motivation to look to Jesus Christ for help daily in laying aside every weight & sin to be accepted by the Bridegroom or else.

Hebrews 12:1Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

1 Corinthians 9:24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. 25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. 26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: 27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Revelation 2:
18 And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass; 19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first. 20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.

21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. 22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. 23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden. 25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.

1 Corinthians 3:10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. 11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. 16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

By the scriptures above, we can see how a saved believer found not abiding in Him are "disqualified" and thus reprobates and get left behind at the rapture event when God judges His House first per 1 Peter 4:17. Think of it as excommunication from the Marriage Supper above which is to be held in sincerity & in truth and given over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh which the beast will do in waging war on the saints left behind & new believers as well.

1 Corinthians 5:8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. 9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators: 10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. 11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. 12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? 13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

1 Corinthians 5:4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, 5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

2 Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) 8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. 11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.

When left behind saints & new believers die, their spirits are saved and will be with the Lord to await for their resurrection after the great tribulation as vessels unto dishonor in His House., vessels of wood & earth to serve the King of kings.

That is why He still abides in former believers even though they deny Him for why He would deny them, but even if we believe not in Him any more, He still abides.

2 Timothy 2:10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. 11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: 12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us: 13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

Paul gives an example of a former believer for why even they are still called to look to Jesus for help to see the truth & depart from iniquity before the Bridegroom comes or risk being left behind.

2 Timothy 2:18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some. 19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. 20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. 21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

See how those that depart from iniquity are vessels unto honor in His House, vessels of gold & silver? And yet in that same great house are vessels of wood & earth, the vessels unto dishonor that did not depart from iniquity.

Why are they in His House still? To testify to the power of God in salvation to save those who believe in the preaching of the cross, even those who believe in His name.

1 Corinthians 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. 18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God...... 21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

your certainly not going to hell for that, if you did every born again christian who made love to his wife/husband would also go to hell. Its more about what images your looking at or thinking about that is the problem.

There is no "if" since he has believed in the Lord Jesus Christ & that God has raised Him from the dead, he is saved and thus born again of the Spirit. It is because Jesus Christ is in him is how and why he can run that race by looking to Him.

But I do agree with that, because we live in America where most Christians are not aware that we are even more persecuted spiritually than Christians being persecuted physically in other parts of the world.

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

To GOD Goes ALL the Glory for ALL that HIS Holy Spirit has done to deliver me and my siblings from Satan's ensnarement, enticements, addictions, and EVERYTHING that did not exalt His Name nor glorify our Loving, Faithful Father in Heaven. KING JESUS REALLY DOES HAVE ALLLLL POWER TO BREAK EVERY CHAIN!
